Two-faced: Doting Husband & Shameless Wife - Chapter 116
Ling Yue sensed the bed moved slightly. She faintly smelled familiar scent next to her.
“Sorry, did I wake you up?”
Ling Yue squinted, trying to see in the dark. The figure illuminated by the dim light was really her husband.
“No … Did you just come home? Have you finished your business?”
Xi Jian slipped his arm under Ling Yue’s head and pulled her body closer.
“Hmm … happy birthday, honey. I’m sorry for not say it early.” He kissed Ling Yue’s forehead then kissed her lips.
Ling Yue buried her head in Xi Jian’s ċhėst. The sound of his heartbeat calmed Ling Yue.
“I miss you. A lo …” She tightened her arms.
Xi Jian held her tightly as he kissed the top of Ling Yue’s head. “I also miss you so much.”
No words were spoken after that. Only their heartbeat and breathing sounds could be heard. As if they want to replace all their lost time together. They value each other’s existence that unwittingly take up a lot of space in their hearts.
“Brother Jian …”
“Xi Jian …”
“Yes, dear?”
“…I love you.” She whispered.
Xi Jian looked down, unable to believe what he had just heard. It was not his birthday, so why did he get the surpise?
He could not see her expression which sinking in his arms. Ling Yue could hear Xi Jian’s heartbeat beating faster, but slower than her. Ling Yue held him without raising her face. Even though the room was dark, she still didn’t want to look at Xi Jian after saying those three words. Her face warmed up. If Xi Jian looked at her now, Ling Yue was sure she definitely would pass out.
“What?”
She heard Xi Jian ask from the top of her head.
“I can’t hear clearly what you’re saying.” Xi Jian tried to separate himself but Ling Yue refused.
“I said I love you.” Her voice was muffled on Xi Jian’s ċhėst. She was carried away by an atmosphere which made her dare to say it but not to face it.
“Now, say what you just said again.” Xi Jian could still see Ling Yue’s eyeballs move away from his face.
“I … you … that … you know!” Ling Yue pushed him away and covered her face in her hands. She was truly embarrassed.
Xi Jian held her in place and kissed her fingers. “I love you, too.” His laughter rang out. “I love you so much.”
Ling Yue peeked between her fingers. “Yes I know that.” She returned in Xi Jian embrace.
“Let’s celebrate your birthday tomorrow in exchange for the time I missed.” Xi Jian played with her hair. “Pack up a little tomorrow. We will go on honeymoon.”
Ling Yue raised her face. “Honeymoon? Where to?”
“Kiss me and I’ll tell you.” Xi Jian moved his face.
Ling Yue kissed him and grumbled because he didn’t tell her right away. She did not ask any further. Anyway, tomorrow she would also know where they were going.
“It’s past midnight, we should sleep … I wanted to say that, but …”
“It seems not only my heart missing you…but my body too.”
——-
Xi Jian woke up late. His heavy eyelids slowly opened. He reached for his side but did not feel the expected warmth. His wife was not next to him. He woke up suddenly. He could still smell their love air last night which made him relieved that it wasn’t all a dream.
With a heavy steps he carried his body to wash his face and look for his wife.
Ling Yue was a little surprised when someone hugged her from behind. “Don’t do this without a sound. If I’m really shocked, my cooking will turn upside down.” Ling Yue rubbed the cheek that was perched on her shoulder.
“Why did you get up so fast.” Xi Jian spun her body around and kissed her deeply. Ling Yue awkwardly broke free and glanced over.
“Don’t do this in front of them.” Ling Yue whispered.
Xi Jian turned his head and seemed to have just realized the presence of another person there. He saw two female servants turning their red faces and Zou Ci who raised his hand, saying hello.
“Good afternoon, boss!”
Zou Ci glanced at his watch once more, making sure his eyes were not mistaken. “For your information, it is past 11 noon, boss.”
Xi Jian didn’t care. He pulled back Ling Yue and made her sit on his ŀȧp as she put the tea in front of him.
“What are you doing?!” Ling Yue hit his shoulder. Her face turned crimson. She could feel the bulges under her buŧŧ starting to move. And their last night’s burning activity flashed in her head. “Let me go!”
Xi Jian tightened his arms and sipped the tea calmly. Ling Yue gave in and covered half of her face. Ali came and announced the arrival of Bai Xu and Gan Ji who immediately appeared after he stepped aside.
“Why is everyone here?” Xi Jian raised an eyebrow.
“Oh while you were slept, Bai Xu called and confirmed your schedule today. I cook a lot and because he said you had nothing to do, so I invited them to celebrate my birthday before we left. Sorry…I picked up your phone without permission first.” Ling Yue looked down, suddenly feeling guilty.
Xi Jian rubbed her back. “If that’s your wish…what could I say?” He took her hand and kissed it.
He wanted to celebrate it alone with Ling Yue but it couldn’t be helped. He could only look at his people in annoyance and was forced to let all these men eat his wife’s cooking. Xi Jian stared at the entrance, suspect another Ling’s would appear too. But until their eating session ended, none of her brothers came. Xi Jian asked her.
“Feng Ge hasn’t returned yet, Huang Ge has an operation and Ah Sheng isn’t in the country.” Ling Yue explained.
