- Chapter 187: Mashu's Explosive Attack on Gudako?!
After a round of shouting that seemed insufficient to vent her frustrations completely, Gudako decided to shout once more, attempting to release all the sadness and anger pent up inside her heart.
“Schrödinger, you nasty… mmmph!!!”
However, before Gudako could finish her second shout, Mashu swiftly rushed forward, placing her left hand on the back of Gudako’s head and tightly pressing her right hand against Gudako’s mouth.
“You… mmm…” Gudako struggled, trying to make a sound, but to no avail.
“Shhh~~~!” Mashu’s face was a mix of fear as she continued to press her hand firmly over Gudako’s mouth, simultaneously making a shushing sound with force.
How to describe this sound? It was like coaxing a child to pee, and it was quite loud.
“Phew, what the heck are you doing, Mas…!” Although she wasn’t sure why, Gudako wasn’t about to let Mashu manhandle her face. She decisively broke free and then had her mouth covered again.
“Smack!!!” With a loud smack, Mashu’s hand once again landed on Gudako’s mouth.
And due to the rapid speed of the motion, it was almost like giving Gudako a powerful slap.
Though, it’s possible that Mashu didn’t really mean to smack Gudako.
Feeling the fiery pain on her face, Gudako was utterly bewildered. When did her submissive underclassman suddenly turn into the aggressive one? So tough?
Without hesitation, after covering Gudako’s mouth once again, Mashu’s expression turned even more anxious. “Lower your voice, senpai!”
While mumbling like this, she kept turning her head back towards the opposite street at an incredibly high frequency, almost three times in a second.
Perhaps this head-turning frequency might seem silly for humans, but it worked just right for a Servant. If she were any faster, Gudako feared that Mashu might have shaken her brain too much.
“Let’s focus on the matter at hand!” Gudako’s face darkened as she forcefully removed Mashu’s hand from her face once more. “Attack the problem, not my face!”
Clearly visible on Gudako’s face was a crimson handprint, with her mouth right in the center of it.
It was evident that Mashu had put her strength into that slap.
“Oh, I’m sorry, senpai. I covered your mouth again just now.”
“Shouldn’t the main point be that you slapped me?” Rubbing her slightly painful mouth, Gudako asked with resentment, “What on earth is going on?!”
“Senpai, take a look over there.” With a fearful expression, Mashu pointed her finger towards the opposite street.
Gudako rubbed her face while shifting her gaze in the direction Mashu was pointing. At first, she didn’t think much of it, until she saw someone dressed quite absurdly.
Upon seeing this, Gudako’s face turned pale, and after swallowing a gulp of saliva, she exclaimed in shock, “Schrö… din..?!”
Unfortunately, Mashu was well-prepared for Gudako’s tendencies to react dramatically. Knowing that her senior, Gudako, would likely shout the name loudly, Mashu swiftly intervened and delivered a resounding slap to Gudako’s face.
“Smack!!!”
However, due to her excessive force, the slap produced an even louder sound than before.
“Shhh~, senpai, lower your voice. Schrödinger might hear you.”
After smacking Gudako’s face, Mashu turned her gaze solemnly towards Schrödinger’s direction. Seeing that he hadn’t heard Gudako’s shout, Mashu breathed a sigh of relief.
Mashu failed to realize the significant psychological impact her forceful slap had on Gudako, the “World Savior.”
“…Was that intentional?” Gudako pulled Mashu’s hand away from her face, her expression stern.
Hearing Gudako’s disjointed remark, Mashu turned her head with a puzzled expression to look at Gudako. It was only then that she noticed the handprint on Gudako’s face. “Intentional… What do you mean… huh? Senpai, what happened to your face?!”
“Seeking revenge, huh? I misjudged you, Mashu!”
Rubbing her painfully throbbing face, Gudako said with a mix of sadness and anger, “If you have a grudge, smack my butt. It’s got more padding.”
“I… I’m sorry, but I really didn’t mean it.” Mashu felt a bit embarrassed, scratching her own cheek with her index finger, her face slightly flushed. The sensation from earlier… was quite something.
“Seriously, next time you do that, I’ll… I’ll… ugh, I guess I don’t have anything threatening to say.”
Muttering under her breath, Gudako got back to business, gazing at Schrödinger across the street. At the same time, she clenched her dainty fist, capable of delivering a knockout punch to a Demon God King. “That guy showed up again, the darn Saint Quartz bandit.”
Although she still felt somewhat intimidated by Schrödinger’s minions’ combat prowess, Mashu bravely asked, “Should we engage, senpai?”
“Engage in battle? Are you kidding me? Do you want me to go deliver a severed head, or should Cú Chulainn go deliver a dog’s head?” Upon hearing Mashu’s declaration, Gudako raised an eyebrow and decisively rejected Mashu’s incredibly unreliable proposal.
“???” Cú Chulainn, who was spectating behind and eating watermelon, was suddenly surrounded by question marks. Goodness, could he get caught up even while eating watermelon?
Mashu also hesitated, lowering her head slightly and saying, “Well, Goo, you’re right. In the current state of Chaldea, it’s absolutely impossible to defeat Schrödinger and save the world.”
Gudako gazed at Bai Song and inquired, “But then again, why is that guy in such a ridiculous outfit, looking around?”
“He’s probably looking for you, senpai.”
Gudako blinked, her face full of confusion as she asked, “Huh? Why?”
“Because… Schrödinger previously had those cat and dog pairs try to capture you. Now that they’ve mistaken my shield and your wig, and Schrödinger has found out about their mistake, he’s likely to take matters into his own hands.”
“That darn Schrödinger, not only did he steal my freeloading vouchers and Saint Quartz, but now he wants to steal someone as beautifully me too?”
Gudako straightened her posture, a determined expression on her face. “At this point, there’s only one solution.”
“Huh? Senpai, are we going to fight?” Mashu immediately interpreted this as Gudako’s declaration of war and promptly drew her sword from her waist.
Even though she no longer had her shield, she still had a one-handed sword.
Before Mashu could even get into a battle stance with her weapon drawn, Gudako uttered a sentence that made her feel like her whole universe collapsed.
“Just Schrödinger, and you think I can’t beat him? No, I can just dodge him!”
