Type-Moon, but the Servant is Tom - Chapter 225: Tom's Throwdown!!!
Watching the blue energy sphere with arcing electric currents flying towards him, Sphinx’s heart skipped a beat.
“Oh no, I’m done for!”
This magic sphere was something it had shot out, and only it knew the true extent of its power. It might not outright kill it, but sustaining some injuries from the explosion was almost a certainty. It lacked any means of defense!
No one understood the power of this magic sphere better than it did.
And because its lower half was already immobilized due to Schrödinger’s previous attack on its “behind,” evading this attack was out of the question. There was simply no possibility of dodging it!
Sphinx lamented; its attack lacked any distinction between friend and foe. Though there was a possibility that its own attack could be reversed, that was purely theoretical. Who would actually do something like that in practice? Nobody! People who lacked that ability could be killed by their own spit, while those who possessed the ability didn’t need to use their own attacks to counter themselves. After all, if they could control their own attacks, their strength far surpassed Sphinx’s.
Therefore, there was no need for them to counter with their own attacks. The question now was, what mentality did the enemy have when sending the attack back?
Sphinx didn’t have time to ponder; it was panicking. It couldn’t afford to be nonchalant now.
Whether or not it could hinder this damned magic sphere, it had to do something. Doing nothing was tantamount to courting death, and if it attacked, it would be a glorious yet selfless sacrifice. There was even a slight chance of pushing the magic sphere back.
Sphinx understood these two options quite clearly.
“Ha!!! Ha!!!” Shouting twice in succession, Sphinx’s mouth began to spew out frantically.
Several roughly one-meter-sized white magic spheres erupted from its mouth and shot towards the approaching two-meter-diameter magic sphere.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
Each magic sphere hitting the massive one emitted a tremendous explosion. However, to Sphinx’s disappointment, despite the resounding noise and spectacular display, firing multiple rounds had absolutely no effect.
Each magic sphere was deflected upon collision with the massive one, sent spiraling away, veering back towards the rear of the cat-dog-mouse mecha.
“Ah! Oh! Ah~ Ah~! Ah~ Oh~!”
Occasional cries of agony echoed from behind the cat-dog-mouse mecha, yet due to the cacophony of battle, nobody paid attention to what exactly was happening at the rear.
“Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!”
Sphinx shouted “retreat” repeatedly while continuing to fire the milky-white magic spheres.
Due to the absence of any charging time, the expelled white magic spheres looked inferior in terms of appearance compared to the initial magic sphere, and their attacking power was even worse.
Watching the white magic spheres it shot out being deflected, Sphinx’s expression gradually turned frantic—well, assuming anyone could see its expression beneath the mask.
“Oh, crap…”
“BOOM!!!!”
The instant the two-meter giant magic sphere hit Sphinx, a dazzling white light flashed, echoing the sun in the sky, becoming a second sun on the ground. A miniature 50-meter mushroom cloud rose from the ground, appearing quite magnificent.
“Well done, Tom!” Inside the mecha, Bai Song had just entered the driver’s seat in the mecha’s chest when he saw Sphinx explode on the display screen, immediately filled with excitement. He knew, Tom could be trusted!
As the smoke gradually dissipated, what appeared before everyone’s eyes was a Sphinx that, aside from turning pure black, was still “intact.” If it had been blown up to this color at night, Bai Song estimated that Tom had blown it to smithereens and scattered its ashes!
Seeing Sphinx once again on the display screen, Bai Song’s expression became somewhat solemn. “Geez, it’s so tough?”
Originally, he had wanted to shoot the “Sky Monkey” into its bird behind, paralyzing its aggression, but that attempt had failed. Now, after being blown up a second time, it had gone from being charred on its lower half to being entirely pitch black all over. In reality, there didn’t seem to be much of a difference.
Just as Bai Song was contemplating whether to launch another “Sky Monkey” into Sphinx’s bird, it opened its mouth, and a puff of black smoke billowed out.
Simultaneously, a hint of fear appeared in Sphinx’s eyes as it said, “You… who are you, Heroic Spirit?”
After pondering for a moment, considering whether to fabricate an identity to intimidate Sphinx, Tom suddenly typed a message on the mecha’s interface, causing the machine to speak in an emotionless robotic voice.
“Human on Earth, hailing from Cybertron, the leader of the Autobots!”
“…?” Hearing this, Sphinx fell silent for a moment. But pardon its ignorance, what on earth was Cybertron?
Before Sphinx could come up with a reasonable explanation, a roar suddenly erupted from behind Bai Song. “Rahhhh!!!”
Hearing this strange cry, everyone, including a pitch-black Sphinx, turned their gaze toward the rear.
They saw a “girl” covered in black from head to toe, riding on the back of a centaur with a horse’s head. She wildly waved the coat she had just torn off Mashu and desperately tried to extinguish the flames that had ignited on the horse’s head.
In the end, thanks to the “girl’s” efforts, the only spark that had caught on her from the explosion and caused the horsehair on the centaur named Red Hare to catch fire was successfully put out.
Indeed, this “girl” was none other than Gudako. Seeing the flames finally extinguished, Gudako chuckled with a hint of a bloody smile, “Red Hare, you’re okay, that’s great!”
Mashu, who had her coat taken off, looked at the blackened Gudako and twitched her lips a few times, saying, “You’re the one who caused all this, Senpai!”
“Dare you hurt my horse? You’re so dead!” Ignoring Mashu’s words, Gudako turned her head, glaring at Sphinx with a furious expression. If looks could kill, Sphinx might have been obliterated by now.
Mounted on Red Hare’s back, Gudako pulled the reins and charged towards Sphinx, exclaiming, “You dare hurt my horse, you’re gonna die!” The moment of collision with Sphinx turned into a fierce altercation with the already weakened Sphinx.
Seeing this, Bai Song’s eyes lit up. This… seemed like an excellent opportunity to intervene, right?
