Unbreak Me - 70 ??Bad decisions??
LEIABad decisions. That’s what my life was made up of. Zayn wasn’t willing to listen to whatever I had to say. That appeared not to be the worst of my problems as soon as the words left Mummy’s mouth.”Honey, can we talk?”I looked longingly in the direction Zayn had disappeared. Yeah, I was surprised to see my mother but I realised . . . I simply didn’t care. Maybe Ammar had cut off his money supply so she thought Zayn could now become her bank. I wouldn’t ever let that happen. “Not now,” I breathed out frantically, wondering where Zayn must’ve gone off to. God, I was going to die with stress. I had to make things right. Now. “Let’s talk later, Mummy. I have something important to do.””But, Leia—””Later!” I said and took off, running through the fancy hallways that had been decorated with the most beautiful flowers and were illuminated by scented candles.God. What had I done?I should’ve just burned the damned diary. He wasn’t supposed to find out like this. Not today. It was our big day. I knew today meant the world to him as much as it did to me. More, perhaps. I wouldn’t let a small misunderstanding ruin it. Unfortunately, I searched and searched and didn’t find him. Hoor then dragged me to my—mine and Zayn’s—room, telling me to stay inside until the function began. She also left Abdar Rahman with me which was a huge relief.I sat, hoping Zayn would’ve cooled down and return. He never did. I locked the door eventually, wiggling out of the itchy dress to nurse my baby. Zayn wanted to throw fits like a child then fine. I’d deal with him later.Maybe it was two hours later when I heard a knock on the door. I rushed to open, thinking it was Zayn. It wasn’t. It was Mom. “You didn’t tell me you invited her, Leia,” she scolded, scowling. “I almost had a heart attack when I saw her in that ridiculous dress.””I didn’t know mummy was going to come unannounced,” I informed her calmly, still patting Abdar Rahman’s back in the hopes of getting a burp soon. I swear he took like half an hour. I didn’t mind because he was so small and warm and just . . . my everything. “I’ll talk to her later. Do you know where Zayn in?”Her brows furrowed. “No, I thought he’d be here with you.” She must’ve seen something on my face because she said, “Is everything okay?”I enveloped her in a side-hug, tears streaking my eyes. “I don’t want to leave you guys to fend for yourself. We’ll make things work somehow, Mom. I was still learning how to take care of a baby from you. How will I manage everything on my own?”She smiled, eyes crinkling. She looked so happy, I had never seen her like this before. So, I played along and pretended to be just as happy although I could feel the gloominess descend upon me in slow waves.”Okay, enough with this. Let’s go outside. All the guests are waiting.”I nodded, letting her fix me up. Thankfully, all the makeup had been waterproof so the tears hadn’t ruined anything. “What about Abdar Rahman? Who do I leave him with?” People would surely ask questions and it was better to be head-on from the start. “Since Hoor will be the photographer on women’s side, I think it’s best Abdar Rahman is left with either me or your Dad.”Just then, a horrifying thought hit me. Mummy would see him too! I felt queasy for some reason, uncomfortable at letting her into such a beautiful part of my life. But I would make it.If Zayn was by my side, I would make it just fine.
