Uncovered - Volume 1 Chapter 11 And Those Eyes..i Lost Myself In Them. 2
My mind was racing with different kind of thoughts. Why was that man so interested in me? Why did he want me to stay with him for four months? He looked so determined to get what he wanted but still, was I worth all that money? Because I’m sure that the numbers are written on the paper he gave to Correy weren’t small. What would he possibly want from me?
You know exactly what he wants, Teresa.
I shook my head, trying to clear my mind and concentrated on putting on the clothes Grace gave me to wear.
“Terri are you done yet?” Grace asked from the other side of the door. I quickly zipped my dress, if you could call it that, and opened the door to find her standing there with her arms crossed over her chest.
“Seriously? It was only a dress.” She complained.
“Sorry, I was just thinking about some things and I guess I lost track of time.” I apologized and she sighed, taking my hand in hers and taking me back to the Doll’s room.
“I know that this is new to you but…” She trailed off.
The door opened and we walked inside, but as soon as we did that,
everyone’s attention turned to us and especially me. Some of the girls looked at me with anger or jealousy and others looked like they were sorry for me, they pitied me. Grace placed her palm on my back and pushed me lightly forwards so I would start walking.
“Don’t worry about them.” She whispered so that only I could hear and guided me to sit to a chair.
“I’m scared,” I confessed.
“You should be!” Someone said and I’m sure she wasn’t Grace.
In front of me walked another girl who looked around my age, her cat-like hazel eyes were filled with hatred and she looked down at me with disgust like I was a piece of trash.
“Loren, leave the girl alone,” Grace told her.
“I was just trying to warn her, she has the right to know-”
“Just leave.” Grace interrupted her again and tried to push her away, but she didn’t move and to be honest I didn’t want her to. This girl despite the fact that disliked me seemed to know a lot of things about that mysterious man and I was more than willing to listen to what she has to say, after all, I was going to stay with him for a long time.
“Now wait. Tell me who he is.” I spoke and the brunette gave Grace a victorious smile before looking back at me.
“He’s Jace Alaric… he’s that psycho artist. He also owns a few companies.” She said, making my eyes widen.
“What do you mean psycho artist?”
“I mean that he’s an actual artist, he paints things, but the things he paints are not something you would expect. They are crazy and dark and most importantly scary.” She started explaining and I could feel my heartbeat increasing. I gulped and nodded for her to continue.
“It’s the third time he comes here, the last girl he took with him was found dead the morning after.”
“D- dead?” I asked with a trembling voice and she opened her mouth to speak, but Grace got in the way and pushed her away from me.
“That’s enough for now. Leave.” Loren looked at me for one last time and then turned her back and walked away.
“Are those things true?” I asked Grace, standing up from my chair. She seemed hesitant like she didn’t know what the right thing to say was, but her eyes told me that my fears were true. He was a terrible man.
“We have to go, he’s waiting for you.” She said instead and grabbed my arm, making me follow her.
We got out of the room and walked downstairs on the entrance of the house where Correy with Mr. Alaric stood, talking. The younger man brought his hand up to his face and rubbed lightly the short stubble over his chin and then licked his pink, heart-shaped lips before saying something to Correy, but I couldn’t hear what.
I couldn’t understand how someone so beautiful could be evil. All the nice thoughts that I had about him vanished. I thought that it would be better to go with him than stay here, but now it seemed like wherever I went it would always end up being hell.
“Here you are,” Correy exclaimed when he saw me and that made Mr. Alaric attention to turn to me, his jade eyes focused on my face and were staring at me so intensely it looked like he was staring at my soul. I lowered my head down and approached them slowly.
“you were free to leave now. Oh, and Terri, behave yourself.” Correy said giving me a small smile.
“Don’t worry about that, I’ll make sure she does.” Mr. Alaric replied.
I don’t have a good feeling about this.
