Undying Warlord - Chapter 539 Gathered!
“Of course, I can. I forgot to mention that my father was granted the power of Primordials when he accepted their blood or something like that. He had a white and a black mark on his body. The white mark released a blast that destroyed one’s soul while the black mark destroyed all kinds of substances.
My father tried to kill me with both of them, only to get killed and fed to some monsters,” Dilan spoke about the gruesome battle between himself and his father as if he was discussing the weather and the Soul Shards simply stared at Dilan, not sure what exactly they were supposed to do.
“Your father was compatible with the repulsive powers of two Primordial races? How the hell are you still alive?” The Fallen Celestial asked.
He knew that he didn’t belong to this place, let alone this Universe but he had been forced to search for a safe hideout where nobody hunting him could find him, and that was something he had achieved success with.
“Well, the Primordials didn’t really like what I did, which is why they forcefully changed the date of my planet’s Fourth Awakening. It was really troublesome. But I’m still glad that I killed my father. His power to stop my body’s reaction time for a quarter of a second before he attacked me with these two Primordial powers was the most bothersome though,” Dilan said with a wry smile on his face.
Recalling how his body had been riddled with holes and cut apart made him feel a little bit weird. Nonetheless, the pain was now a thing of the past. At least, his father would never bother him again. That was definitely worth the pain he had gone through and he was ready to bear it all over again, if he were to be pushed back in time due to whatever reason.
“Wait…he was granted the Control of Time as well? Are you sure that your father…was human?” The Great Wise asked in a bewildered voice. He stared blankly at Dilan, who didn’t think much about it.
“The countdown until the Fourth Awakening of my planet stopped for a quarter of a second and it seemed to have sped up after that…so I guess he stopped my body’s reaction time just before attacking… and yes he was human because I was 100% human according to the system and so were my sisters!” Dilan could only be certain that he and his siblings were human, but not the true extent of his father’s powers.
He had actually never really thought much about it because the wielder of those powers was now dead.
“You are telling us that your father, a perfectly normal human, was granted the grace to pump the blood of Primordials through his veins and the compatibility and constitution to wield three Primordial powers?” The Demonized Roc in his human form asked, not quite believing his ears.
“Exactly,”
“And then you just defeated your father?”
“Yep”
“That’s bullshit! Who would believe that?!” The same woman as before shouted out all of a sudden but Dilan merely shrugged his shoulders.
“I don’t really need your approval! You can think of me as a liar if you want,” Dilan said. He knew that the Soul Shards couldn’t actually harm him with the intention to injure, let alone kill him.
He wouldn’t see them once he left the City of Trials either. With that in mind, he could be himself without the need to put on a farce.
“Are you ready to die for the ones you love?” The woman asked, who ignored everyone else’s dumbfounding stares.
“I have always been prepared to die for my sisters, from when I was young!” Dilan replied without missing a beat, his answer satisfying the woman, who opened the wooden door.
She had black hair and large black eyes that was a sharp contrast to her fair skin. A greatsword larger than her entire body was attached to her back.
The sword tilted to one side and its tip was barely inches above the stone street.
The woman looked frail but her body’s stance, her sharp eyes, and the way she moved made it clear that she could enter a battle at a moment’s notice.
“Are you ready to learn the Immortal Godbringer Amasutra?” She asked and a bright smile formed on Dilan’s face.
“Of course, I am!” He exclaimed, not revealing the thoughts he harbored deep in his mind, ‘Why is everyone coming up with so weird names for their abilities? Couldn’t they make it a little bit…simpler? The Primordial Ascension’s system has a better naming sense…’
Dilan knew that his thoughts were useless because they didn’t matter, either way, so he shut his mouth.
“Then let’s go…looks like you have lots of things to learn, and I don’t know how much time you wanted to spare to learn every technique, to begin with,” The woman said, and everyone threw a distasteful gaze in Dilan’s direction.
They could tell that Dilan didn’t think even for a single minute about the distribution of his time or anything like that.
“First of all, I would like to know your name. I don’t want to call you ‘You’ all the time. That would be very nice of you,” Dilan said first of all before he asked a question he had in mind, “I already noticed that I don’t need sleep, food, or something to drink…but will I get exhausted when practicing your techniques, or will it be possible for me to train them continuously? I don’t know if I possess infinite mana here because my powers have been sealed.”
Dilan had noticed that he could use mana but it was a lot different from the usual exertion of mana. He didn’t feel that his mana was being drained. The feeling of his mana slowly drying out and him being forced to manage his mana better was not present.
It was a weird feeling, something he had never felt before, especially since the rest of his body was at the level of an ordinary human being.
“In here you will never get tired, and your mana will never exhaust. That will probably be the biggest hurdle for you once you start with the Trial of Power. Your stats will be adjusted every round and you wi–…” The Lightning Titan wanted to say more, but he grimaced all of a sudden and blood trickled down the corners of his mouth as he began to grit his teeth.
“Thanks for your help, but don’t overdo it. The artificial intelligence punished you just now, didn’t it?” Dilan smiled thankfully at the Lightning Titan, just to earn a grim smile from him.
“This fucking AI is really cumbersome. She can warn us about the information we’re not supposed to tell you beforehand…” He cursed out while Dilan went on his way.
“With 24 hours in a day and no need for breaks, we should set up a place to stay for the next…few thousand years. I need to study my constitution, and I have five techniques to learn, up to perfection if possible…ah and a batch of more than a million books are waiting for me to read them as well!”
There was a lot to do, and there was even more time for them to spend.
Everyone was ready to give their all, especially the Soul Shards, who had waited for an opportunity to help the Universe achieve greatness!
