Undying Warlord - Chapter 544 The Prophecy
Dilan didn’t know where to look or what to do right now.
His gaze had been locked onto the Destruction Sword Immortal, whose exhilarated expression and the tears that trickled down his face made him look as if he had just lost his sanity.
However, upon the Oracle’s arrival, and after hearing the first sentence she had said, Dilan’s mind went blank for a moment.
He looked over to the Oracle, who looked gently at him.
“It is time for you to complete your Trials. Your family will need you soon, and so does the Universe!” The Oracle repeated, giving Dilan the chills.
“Does the Universe really need me? Apparently, the Eternal Darkness will be quite powerful, or so I heard.”
Dilan was quite interested in the answer to this question. He knew that the Oracle was far more knowledgeable about the happenings in the Universe. Thus, she was the safest option to find out if he was really needed.
“The prophecy says that you and the Eternal Darkness will be the only survivors. You have tasted the Universe’s Origin Power as well, meaning that the Universe regards you highly. Your actions can change fate, which is the reason why I cannot see your future!
I may not know what role you play in the survival of the Universe, but you will contribute to it, that I’m certain about!” The Oracle answered. Her answer didn’t really answer his question Dilan but he nodded his head.
He could tell that her answer was honest and he couldn’t really see a reason for her to lie to him, to begin with. There were no benefits in lying to him.
But that was exactly what made a few more doubts crop up in Dilan’s mind.
“Just what is this prophecy, to begin with? So far, I have never heard anyone speaking the content of the prophecy. Can’t you just clear that up for me?” Dilan was getting frustrated. He heard so many people speaking about the prophecy.
<Prophecy this, Prophecy that, bla bla bla>
<You have to do this because the prophecy says so>
It was getting on Dilan’s nerve because everyone made it feel as if they were entitled enough to make him do whatever they wanted just the prophecy said so.
He was not the Universe’s puppet, or at least, he didn’t accept being labeled the Universe’s puppet!
“I didn’t show you the prophecy when we first met? Let me fix that then!” The Oracle waved her hand and golden runes filled the cloudless sky.
Dilan had never seen such runes, but surprisingly he was able to understand everything written in the sky.
***
When Chaos spreads through the Universes, the Eternal Prisoner will be released.
The Planet of the Universe will face destruction. A favor will be given to the Savior of Infinite Growth.
When the ruby moons rise over the crimson sky, the Eternal Prisoner will retrieve her freedom.
Her fated one will reach out to her, saving the woman blessed by the Curse of the Origin.
When their Universe will be devoured, the Eternal Darkness and the Undying will be the only ones left alive.
Their life will be intertwined, and their actions will shake the Universes.
When the Veils open, the terror to all Universes will be unveiled.
Whether everything will cease to exist or not will be decided by those who are able to change Fate.
Only they can change what cannot be changed.

‘So that is the prophecy? It’s…quite interesting, I guess?’
As he repeated the words in his head, he realized that the content of the prophecy was quite interesting but it was also less focused on the Undying and the Eternal Darkness than expected.
“Aren’t you guys paying too much attention to me and the Eternal Darkness if there are also the Eternal Prisoner and the Savior of Infinite Growth, whoever these two may be?” Dilan asked with a raised eyebrow.
The Eternal Prisoner was mentioned the most in the prophecy and her mission was to save the Savior of Infinite Growth. With that in mind, Dilan felt pretty sure that those two were more important figures in the rescue of the Universe than him and Eternal Darkness.
“Even if we ignore the Eternal Prisoner, the Savior of Infinite Growth is not someone we can bother anytime soon. He is not from this Universe and as far as I’m concerned, he will never come over here!” The Oracle’s expression turned sour as she spoke.
Dilan noticed that and though he didn’t want to pry any further he was just too curious to not ask the next question, “Why should we ignore the Eternal Prisoner?”
“That…is hard to explain,” The Oracle said slowly, hiding her true emotions.
She cleared her throat and pointed at Dilan, “Shouldn’t you be more concerned about your family? If you waste more time here, something may happen to them!”
It was obvious that the Oracle avoided speaking about the Eternal Prisoner and tried to change the topic but that was fine with Dilan.
He was satisfied to know that the prophecy didn’t explicitly speak about him and the Eternal Darkness saving the Universe.
They merely said that they would be the only ones to survive, which made things worse after Dilan came to the understanding that the Universe might cease to exist, and with them, his family might die too.
“I will give my best!” He clenched his fists, feeling prepared to take the Trials to pass his Divine difficulty advancement mission to Tier 4.
The only issue was with the Destruction Sword Immortal. Dilan didn’t feel good leaving the Sword Immortal after what he had done, albeit inadvertently, to hurt his pride.
Crushing the pride of his teacher was basically the worst he could have done, and Dilan began to curse himself for being the reason of the Destruction Sword Immortal’s loss of sanity.
“Hahahha, I will keep training and improve my Sword Style to the Peak. Nothing will be able to retaliate against me when my Sword attains true perfection!!” The Destruction Sword Immortal was blabbering as he rushed toward Dilan, whose shoulders he squeezed tightly.
His eyes stared deep into Dilan’s sky blue eyes. “If you find my true self in the vast Universe, tell him that it’s never too late to grow stronger!! Teach him my Sword Style if he hasn’t upgraded it to the 72nd Slash!!”
Dilan just nodded as he was unsure what to say. The Destruction Sword Immortal seemed to be satisfied with that response. He unsheathed his sword and entered a particular stance that looked elegant and full of power.
This confused Dilan, but he realized that every Soul Shard around him entered a certain stance, or greeted him in a specific way.
Unbeknownst to him, he had also changed his stance in order to wish the Soul Shards a wonderful future, no matter what this future contained.
They wished each other farewell in a formal way. As teachers to an exceptional student, they taught relentlessly and for ten thousand years!
A long time had passed since Dilan entered the City of Trials but it didn’t feel all that long for anyone.
It was as if time had passed in the blink of an eye, and it was already time to separate once again.
“I will take care of your wishes, don’t worry!”
