Universe Tales: Virtual Log Of The Fallen One - Chapter 59
When Maria logged back into the game, she immediately set off into the field.
During the past few days she had been going around with her guild, but this time she went about solo. It was a first in a long time since the event started and fortunately enough, she was able to get permission from Lizzy.
It wasn’t like she hated being tied down to a guild, but there were times where she’d rather just go at it alone.
Lilah appreciated the alone time she could finally have with her master. Honestly, ‘babysitting’ her Master’s guildmates didn’t quite please her all too well. Because of how cautious everyone was, they didn’t let Maria wreak havoc like she normally would and the monsters they would hunt were always ones close to their levels so they were ‘weak’.
Maria herself didn’t have any complaints, but Lilah had grown tired of killing scrubs. The only good thing about them hunting those low leveled monsters was because they could kill them in large groups which earned them plenty of EXP.
Maria was able to rise to level 38 and her stats became even more absurd.

Because with each level that she grew, the more boring she felt the game was turning to be. The constant hunting of monsters of similar levels to her had become too mundane and it was lacking the usual thrill she felt whenever she went around to hunt alone.
It was due to this that Maria had asked for some alone time and was currently flying around the neutral territory in search of high-level monster areas.
She had received some directions to level 50 hunting grounds from Lizzy so she was currently making her way over to the place. Her navigator, Lilah, was humming happily in the air as she led the way for her Master.
“Hmhm~ Hmhmhm~”
“You seem to be in a good mood Lilah! Something good happened?”
“Yup~!” Lilah said as he grinned back at her master, “We can finally hunt alone again! Honestly, babysitting those greenhorns and searching for those event bosses was beginning to become boring!”
“Ahaha~ yeah, you’re right.”
“That’s why I’m happy we can finally go and search for opponents more worthy to be cut down by your ax, Master!”
“Hihihi~ Lilah, sometimes you say the most scariest of things~”
As the two were bantering playfully in the air, it didn’t take long before they arrived at the hunting grounds that Lizzy had informed them about.
“Alright, Lilah, let’s release our pent up frustrations and kill some monsters!”
“Yes!”
The two swooped down from the air when they saw a pack of level 50 Gnolls and immediately engaged them in battle.
Using her normal cycle of skills, Maria immediately engaged in a melee once she cycled through her entire magic spells. Once the last gnoll fell, a loud notification sound rang in the air.
[Calamity has fulfilled all requirements for upgrade: Slay 1000 enemies with Calamity, Receive Death’s Blessing, Feed Calamity with 5 Level 10 rare grade equipment.
Would you like to commence the upgrade? YES/NO]
Maria widened her eyes in surprise at the notification window. Finally, after for so long, her weapon was able to upgrade!
The other requirements were easy to fulfill, only the Slay 1000 enemies with Calamity was hard. The enemies had to be those of higher levels than Maria herself and sometimes, she would slay the enemy using her skills and spells instead of with the Calamity which had majorly delayed her from upgrading the weapon.
It would have been easier if she had just focused on using Calamity during her battles, but she had gotten so accustomed to using her spells and skill that she neglected to use her weapon to deal the finishing blow sometimes.
Maria quickly pressed on the [YES] and Calamity immediately began to glow in her hands.

Description:
A Demonic Weapon bestowed upon the Envoy of Death, the Dark Priestess, Fallen Angel Maria, who was the first-ever Angel to have fallen from grace in the past millennia. The weapon craves for blood and destruction, with every enemy slain its power increases. The Great Calamity of the ancient era has once again descended onto the mortal plane and it demands its chaotic offerings!]
Seeing the changes to her Calamity, Maria immediately grew curious at this [Form Change] option that was newly added.
“[Form Change: 2nd Form]!”
Her ax began to glow and the blade began to elongate into a thin curved blade. It had an ominous design and the entirety of the blade was blood red with black veins pulsing along it.
Maria curiously began to swing the blade and immediately grew fond of its new form.
“Ahahaha~ this looks fun!”
She began slashing around while changing her weapon’s form from time to time. Using her head, she was able to come up with a variety of attacks while using this new function of her weapon.
If she could time things right, she’d be able to catch her enemy off guard when she was attacking. Another thing that had to be noted was that her weapon skills had different effects in each form.
Weapon Skill 1: [Calamity Cleave]: Slashes out twice with the scythe, sending dark energy waves in front of the caster. Each energy wave deals 500 DMG and stuns the enemy for 1.5 seconds. When the energy waves strike a target, the wave splits and flies out in all directions around the target, dealing (1.0 x INT) damage to all enemies hit and has a chance to inflict bleed for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 4 minutes.
Weapon Skill 2: [Reaper’s Guile]: Halves all SP consumption and for every enemy slain, the Calamity absorbs their soul energy and grants it to the user, providing a 10% Lifesteal and 20% Manasteal of slain target’s total HP and MP. Every kill count increases movement speed by 0.5% and stacks up to a maximum increase of 50%. Duration: 30 minutes.
Maria tried out her Calamity Cleave while in her weapon’s second form and saw that she had the option of combining both her slashes into one, dealing a large amount of damage to an enemy, or she could split it into two and deal more damage on a wider scale.
If any of her slashes strikes an enemy, it would explode and split into smaller waves of dark energy which would strike everything around her initial target, and because of her high INT stat, the secondary attack DMG of her skill dealt more DMG than the main attack.
She also noticed that while in 2nd form, her scythe aided her in finishing her spells much quicker than usual and the DMG dealt was also far higher. When she rechecked her weapon, it turns out the DMG output had increased because her 2nd form provided a boost to her M.ATK instead of her ATK.
Maria was immensely satisfied with the new upgrade because she had become much more magic orientated in battle lately. The increase in M.DMG was something she very much welcomed.
Hoisting up her weapon over her shoulder, Maria looked every bit of a grim reaper. All she needed was a large black cloak with a hoody and she’d fit the role quite well.
The new grim reaper continued roaming about the leveling area and began reaping the lives of every monster she saw.
