Unlimited Power 03: The Sinful Ruler - Chapter 337 Next Step
Jake put everything on hold else to master that power; while his mana pool wasn’t the largest, he certainly could use that technique and the dark flames to create something truly beyond any world. In his former life, he managed to defeat many enemies with the power to control mana like that, and with the dark flames, perhaps he would be able to do even more.
“I have found a world that fits your descriptions,” Virgilius said. “I suspect that you would be able to train more efficiently in such an environment. The creatures there are fairly strong, but they aren’t fighting anyone.”
“What are they?” Jake asked.
“Trolls,” Virgilius replied. “It seems that you have visited this planet before based on what you have told me.”
“That planet… I have a grudge against them, but I don’t have time to waste with them,” Jake said. “Move it to the opposite side of that world.”
“This world has only a single continent, and while we can land pretty far away from them, they have many bases across the continent,” Virgilius said.
Jake sighed… he already coil tell how the situation was going to end. Moreover, it was a world that many humans had access to. Even if he didn’t land near the dungeon, some people were bound to find traces of him… the trolls will be the first ones to move, and then things would obviously escalate.
“I want to cut ties with my past, but since things are like that, then I will face it,” Jake said. “You can land there… Besides, cold lands always make me feel calm.”
“To avoid problems with the research, I will land at night, and that should buy us some time for a while,” Virgilius said.

“You don’t even try to hide that you are treating me like a test subject,” Jake said. “Maybe you really want to turn into a blender.”
“It seems that your people have a pejorative view of the term. The whole colony here was used and knew that they were test subjects, and they never mind it,” Virgilius explained. “While they didn’t have the potential to become stronger under normal conditions, they participated in many experiments and simulations to increase our chances of survival.”
“Is that so,” Jake said.
That was a complicated topic, and Jake didn’t have time for that. He had been training for several hours nonstop on how to control the mana on his sword, and while he made some progress, things were happening way too slowly for his tastes.
“You don’t know any method to improve my control over mana?” Jake asked. “You guys used those helmets to brainwash the guys that you defeated and turn them into puppets, right?”
“The helmet was a magic tool that only had the purpose of our a target under the user’s control,” Virgilius explained. “We managed to create tools that were able to control mana like that, but we were no good at controlling mana directly.”
“I guess I can see why you guys had such a hard time until now,” Jake said. “You guys were weak to direct combat and not good at using Mana, but it seems that at least you have your brains.”
“Species like us aren’t uncommon in the cosmos, but yours are,” Virgilius said. “Humans have no physical traits that make them good for close combat and the use of magic, and you aren’t all that bright either. So, it puzzles me how you managed to obtain this much strength.”
“Since you worked with a species that is too rational, no wonder you can’t understand it,” Jake said. “We evolved as it was required of us. I won’t say any more than that since I am busy.”
Jake focused on his training, and when they landed on that world, he left the spaceship and felt the clean air of the place. It was cold as usual, but Jake didn’t feel that bothered since his mentality increased and the world didn’t get colder. Even when he sat on the snow, he didn’t feel much discomfort. Thanks to that, he was able to focus a lot more.

“I analyzed the terrain around, and it seems there is a village twenty kilometers away from here,” Virgilius said. “It seems that they also come to this area often to fish.”
“Give me a break… can’t you find any spot where they won’t bother us for a week or two?” Jake asked.
“No,” Virgilius readily answered. “It seems that they divided themselves into many tribes to watch the whole continent and prevent the proliferation of monsters.”
That made sense. In a world like that, they would need to keep their watch on all dungeons.
“We have an anti-reflection system that can make us invisible from a distance, but not from up close,” Virgilius added.
“I guess I will have to keep them busy with something else,” Jake said.
? Jake didn’t forget about the core that he had that gave him the power to create a dungeon wherever he wanted. However, he didn’t want to use that… it seemed that his best option would be to use the crystal wolves. He also didn’t like the idea of using his summons like that, but it couldn’t be helped. Their function was to fight, after all. Fortunately, he had a few tricks up his sleeve to increase their survival rate.
Overnight, Jake summoned several of them and then made them create an ice fortress using Ice Walls. Considering their nature, their ice magic won’t be that useful against trolls, but with their numbers and the fortress, they should be able to keep them busy for a week or two.
“Monitor them while I practice this technique,’ Jake said. “If things get dicey for them, I guess I will have to think of something else.”
“Understood, commander,” Virgilius said.
“Speaking of which, after I master this, I will need to learn how to absorb mana from the environment,” Jake said. “How can the ship do that?”
