Unlucky?Player - Chapter 165
“No one saw that?? Please tell me someone saw that. That was beautiful,”
Luke was excited to see the improvement, it wasn’t anything too drastic but there was no way it could slip past someone like him. The overall smoothness and flow of his attacks slightly improved which resulted in no wasted energy.
“Kid, I understand how exciting it is to beat someone older than you but you really shouldn’t be talking like you’re some kind of a don, tch. To think you managed to get lucky and beat a high-ranked member…”
There were four people in total and one of them lay unconscious under Luke’s knuckles. The other three were right outside the van’s sliding door. Deep down, they were aware that whatever they were going to try was futile. After all, would their group leader allow such mistakes or allow luck to beat him?
“Luck?” he tilted his head as he looked at the individuals in masks, it was well understood that people are often unable to accept the whole truth, however, Luke hated people praising his luck. Unless, of course, it was someone close to him or someone who knew the truth.
“You disagree? Of course, you would, you’re probably overconfident now aren’t you?”
“Whatever man, who are you guys, and what do you want? Clearly, it’s personal so what’s up?”
Luke had to hold back, killing them wouldn’t be an issue, even if Jace and K stepped in they wouldn’t be able to stop him. The best option was to knock out two of them and leave the last one shivering in fear, preferably just until the point where people piss themselves.
“It would be cliche if I gave you guys ten seconds or something to disappear so for the novelty of the plot, that is my life, I’m going to flip your entire systems starting now,”
*Wooosh*
Unlike the usual, Luke’s moves were smoother, more refined, K would be shocked to see someone at Luke’s point improve even further, and yet it happened. As of now, if tested, Luke was positive he could dodge 2/10 bullets, assuming the ones that connected didn’t kill him that is.
‘The first one, to my extreme right, his build is average and it looks like…he’s getting ready to kick huh? I don’t feel like breaking anyone’s bones so, a simple kick to the face should do…’
Luke’s stance was low, perhaps it was because he was kneeling down but the stance worked to his advantage, he looked like a wild beast that charged forward. As usual, his energy reading was spot on, the man to his extreme right was going to kick, if it was in the game then Luke would move to the side and break his leg by striking the knee joint. However, as stupid as these people were, Luke couldn’t get himself to hurt someone that bad, after all, as far as he knew, they never hurt anyone or did anything wrong, other than pick a fight with him of course.
However, this time Luke moved out of the way and kicked the man in his side rib, instantly shattering every single bone, however, that wasn’t it, the man was flung back due to the power the kick held, so much so that he flew back into the other masked member behind him. Luke didn’t waste any time, he stepped on the two bodies on the floor and jumped at the last and final member who was still in the process of understanding what was happening, after all, in Luke’s eyes all of this seemed like more than 5 seconds, however, to the normal human eye, it was instantaneous.
“Wait please!!” the last member shrieked as he realized Luke’s punch was closing into his face. His entire body shut down and he knew that death was a better option than getting caught by an attack of Luke’s. ‘This can’t be it?….’
Just before the punch touched his cheek, Luke pulled his hand back and lightly slapped the member’s cheek. It was obvious he was playing around and didn’t see them as anything more than ants, however, that didn’t mean squashing them was the only option, following them back to find the nest was another option and it was the one Luke leaned towards.
“Aw shucks, I got lucky again didn’t I?” he said as he pulled the member’s cheeks through the thick black cloth masks. “You guys look like chain snatchers or thugs more than hired professionals…” the truth was, all of them were professionals, even though they were the lowest-ranked members, they were still properly trained. Although facing a walking disaster is something that people can’t train for.
“I-i…..p-plea…”
“Ssshhh, it’s okay, I don’t care about whatever it is you’re going to tell me. I simply want to know, who gave you the order? And where can I find them?”
“…..I…re-al….”
“Breathe…calm down. See I’m not even touching you,” Luke said as he held both his hands above.
“I d-don’t….k..kno-w..”
“…Come on now..don’t lie to me, I’m being nice here so just tell me,”
“I really don’t! I’m a new addition and the only two people here who know anything are unconscious over there, not the one who fell down, but the first two you beat up! Please let me go!” the individual pleaded, just by the voice and his mannerisms Luke could tell that he wasn’t lying. After all, who would lie in the face of imminent death.
“Sigh…whatever, run away or something, I don’t care,” Luke said as he watched the person run away without even looking back once.
“Now then do I wait for them? or uh the cops? No, they’ll take custody of these toons then, urgh I wanted food but now I need to wait for them?” Luke complained as he opened the van door and proceeded to sit inside as he waited for the members to wake up. It was only after one hour did someone finally wake up, unfortunately, it was the third member who wasn’t a high enough rank to know anything However, Luke was definitely not letting him escape so he simply knocked him out again and threw him in the van.
“Finally, don’t bother lying to me, just tell me the facts as they are and I’ll let you go. How’s that?” Luke asked as he looked at the member whose ribs he broke, the masked individual could barely move, however, his eyes shot open which was more than enough to alert Luke.
“Urgh Y…you fckin monster,”
“Yes, yes, whatever, now quickly spill the deets so you can go walking, and I mean it, by the way, if you tell me what I want, I’ll make sure no one touches you,” Luke reassured as he crossed his legs. He was still sitting at the opening of the sliding door, his eyes pierced straight into the other individual’s soul.
“Arghahaha, that’s funny but do you really think they’ll let me get away without any issues? If you think that then you’re mistaken. Truly. I’ll probably be killed or they’ll wipe my memory or something, who knows they’ll probably wipe me and put me in jail. That’s the kind of people you’re….dealing with kid…..I don’t know what…you did to incur the wrath of them but you did and it’s sad…”
“Is that a yes you’ll tell me or a no I prefer to be thrashed around more?” Luke wasn’t playing around anymore, he sounded like an actual gang leader and the worst part was that the entire scene made it seem like he was one.
“…..You don’t understand, even If I wanted to….I can’t…..I physically can’t….”
“You physically can’t? What does that mean? Do you have a de-”
“NO! Do not finish that please…”
“…..” It was an interesting situation for Luke, would saying the word blow the man’s face? How was he supposed to properly confirm what it was? “Trigger words?” he muttered after wandering around in his mind.
“…” the man’s eyes widened as he proceeded to nod in agreement, it was a little surprising to see Luke achieve something that would usually be done by Nate.
“Alright, so I’m assuming, anything which gives a name will make your head go poof?” he asked as imitated an explosion with his hands.
Once again, the man only nodded, although this time it was slightly unusual, however, there wasn’t anything Luke could do in such a situation. He was not a murderer in the slightest, although he wouldn’t hesitate if it was important.
“Haaah so I can’t take names as well, alright, whatever. I’m calling the cops on you guys, and don’t worry about….”your situation” it’ll be alright soon enough, although I would rather not promise you anything,” Luke said before he got up and punched the man straight in the face.
“What do I even do….I’m never stepping out again, why on earth would someone go so far just for my sake? Simply calling me would do, urgh, whatever, cops first then food,” Luke took out his phone and dialed a familiar number as he continued walking down the street.
