Unlucky?Player - Chapter 226
After logging out Luke noticed that everyone else on the plane was either sleeping or logged in, according to the pilot, they were set to arrive at their destination in another 6 hours or so, which gave him a lot of time to rest and get up. Naturally, after all the mental exertion anyone would feel tired, after contemplating it for a few more minutes, Luke decided to get a few hours of sleep in.
“Oh, so now that you’re an Epic Grade you need someone to wake you up?” Nate hit his feet and watched as Luke shot up straight with the blanket still tightly held within his grasp. Luke had passed out for nearly six hours, which only proves how hard he had been pushing himself.
“I don’t remember asking for a level 100 to talk? Sucks to everyone but me I guess,” Luke replied as he stretched his arms. Everyone was awake now, and by the way, they were all looking at him, it seemed like they wanted him to talk about the world announcements.
“I passed all the Trials on hardcore mode and as a reward all the levels until level 200 were given to me, and uh I think because I ascended I got to meet Nyx again and stuff happened,” Luke casually answered not considering how it sounded to the others.
“…..”Stuff happened”…Really? That’s the way you want to phrase it?” Nate knew what Luke wanted to say, but sometimes, just sometimes, he would lose all hope in humanity when Luke said something.
‘Truly…..The Anomaly….’ Valerian thought as he nodded with a proud look, completely misunderstanding everything that just happened.
‘All of them are idiots….’ Aurora thought as she looked at everyone’s reaction.
“Ahem….anyway, it’s come to this, right now I’m close to The Range, I’ll be taking the Legacy Trials soon, preferably on hardcore mode, if it exists that is,” It wasn’t a strong, but Luke had this feeling that the Legacy Trials wouldn’t be the same as the Phantom Trials. However, more than that, he had to worry about how it would all seem to the public. A single-player conquering major class quests of other classes.
“Okay…I logged out before reaching Linto, so I’m finally there. The directions you guys gave me were really useful, not gonna lie, I was in no mood to fight off giant worms,” Nate let out a tired chuckle as he discussed his plans for the future. They were all part of the same clan, and it was about time they started acting like it. Even if each and every one of them were amazing players on their own, sharing a common goal and a sense of unity was important, especially for the clan to survive.
“Well, we got Vraun then. I’m pretty sure with everyone, we’ll be able to get information quicker,” Valerian pitched in while pointing to Aurora, “Layla’s near Aethereum I think so you might meet her since she’s a combat archer I think it’ll be better if she enters the Imperial Empire and gathers information there. Who knows, we might actually find something,”
“That makes sense….someone as careful as Neo wouldn’t risk keeping anything important in someplace that he deemed unsafe. Of course, keeping it right next to him would be predictable, but considering all the factors…it’s worth a shot…” Nate mused, taking on Neo Thallius wasn’t as simple as busting in and overpowering him. He was the descendant of Achilles and the Grandson of Andel, who was once the supreme strategist of the Kingdom of Aster.
In short, Neo had both, brains and brawn, not to mention he also had a large amount of influence. He was a Myth, a step away from becoming a Divine being, to the majority of the civilians he was considered a human God. A figure that could be worshiped and looked up to.
After talking about their future plans and getting something to eat, all of them had finally reached their destination, which was Delphi, Greece. The wind was crisp and cold, it was pure and nostalgic. Luke stood on top of the stairs and watched as everyone slowly got down. However, before going down immediately, he did what any protagonist would do and stood there for a second, allowing the wind to strike him and reveal his face. He ruffled his hair slowly as the breeze played with it. It seemed as if life had slowed down, he took every step looking from side to side.
“Why’s he walking in slow motion?” Aurora asked Nate who was now embarrassed to call Luke his best friend.
“Don’t ask.” Nate simply shrugged his shoulders and continued walking, if he stood there any longer, he was sure the embarrassment would soon have a physical form. Honestly, there were times when Nate wanted to assassinate Luke, but unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of people who could actually do that.
“Nate!” Luke called out as he stood on the stairs, “look at how beautiful everything is, the wind is calling for me, it’s inviting me…..” The dramatic urge to fall down on his knees and complain about nature’s beauty was strong, unfortunately, Nate’s tongue was stronger.
“You stupid fck, stop embarrassing all of us and get down here,” Nate growled before turning around and stomping away. Valerian looked rather nervous, he was a Vigilante here, and so far, the topic had never come up in any conversation, so he was rather confused as to how he was supposed to tell the other two.
Things were only going to get more chaotic, not in the sense that Luke would fall down and cry, but in the sense that, the martial arts world, could be rather prideful at times, and the notification that a new instructor was arriving was huge, however, nobody’s first guess would be a blue-haired teenage boy who was celebrated as the best player in a video game.
It wasn’t necessary that the instructor be old, but in most cases, they were. After all, it wasn’t every day you find a genius, unless you’re Luke or Aurora, in that case, you’re most likely going to find tough opponents every day.
Getting out of the airport wasn’t difficult at all, with the level of influence and power the Cirillo’s exercised, managing to sneak out of a place wouldn’t be that difficult at all. Of course, it’s not that there were a lot of people there. Of course, there was also the option to land at the private land owned by the family.
“So you’re telling me, you have an entire mini airport for yourself?” Luke asked out of curiosity and astonishment. Just the fact that such a thing existed was scary, did this mean the family’s ties with the government ran deeper than they thought?
“Kinda, but that’s far away and it’s under renovation right now. Some of the planes are getting fixed up or something, but yeah,” Aurora replied as she waved her hand. The very next second a car pulled up in front of her, and the group went inside.
“So are all the families this rich?” Luke turned to Nate this time, just to get confirmation.
“Haahh….Yes? All of them are, but they try to keep things on the down-low so they don’t go around flaunting wealth, of course, things would be different if it was in a private location and they really needed to spend,” Nate replied while looking outside the window.
They spent the entire car ride talking about the families until finally Luke and Nate noticed that they were no longer in the main city of Delphi. Somewhere in the outskirts of the city, the Cirillo’s owned more than 1000 acres of land. At this point, it could be called a sect, however, the only difference was that they had no special sect techniques, they were simply a major organization, determined to keep martial arts alive.
“Woah…..” Luke muttered as the car went through the huge gate, on the roads he noticed people in white clothes sweeping any debris thrown around. The plants and the greenery were also tended to by them.
“The disciples here are more than just machines programmed to fight. They’re here to learn discipline, which according to father, is the most important thing in becoming a full-fledged martial artist. This place is more like a college, so the closer we head to the center, the more experienced students we find,” Aurora explained while pointing out the style of the buildings constantly changing.
In every house, there were three people staying, they were in charge of doing everything other than training on their own. Disciples also had the option to work for money, which in turn could be spent as they saw fit. Although, as a rule, 10% of the salary they earn goes into the bank account and cannot be accessed until they turned 25. The only reason such a thing was done, was so that all of them learn financial responsibility and don’t excessively spend it all away.
“Yeah, impressive right? Some of the disciples here come and work at my company, nothing too serious though, they just help around moving the load and whatnot. This way they learn how to live life as well,” Valerian added.
Truly, just by listening to all this, Nate was more than amazed, all of this was perfectly planned out and extremely efficient, the world’s education system could take a lot of notes from the Cirillo’s.
“We’re here,”
