Unlucky?Player - Chapter 227
“We’re here,” Aurora pointed to the villa as the car pulled into the driveway. There was no doubt that this building was worth a few million, however, even if Luke and Nate had to pay this back, they could do so easily in a few more days. However, both of them knew that they would never be asked to do such a thing. In a way, Luke training the students there could be considered as payment.
The villa was located in the same environment as the houses of the others. It wasn’t near the students but it was in the same locality as the other teachers and guests. Of course, Valerian and Layla were included in this list, along with Luke’s parents and siblings.
Aurora and the main family lived close by but it was a little more complicated than that. The villa that they stopped at consisted of 3 separate buildings, with a common training ground in the middle and a fully furnished pool. Right beside this Villa was another building that acted as a mini-mall that offered everything the people living around may need.
A little further away from the market was a huge red gate with an oni’s face on it. Right outside were two guards, both of whom had swords around their waists. It was a little funny how they still used swords and not guns, but the reason for this was because of a rule added by Jace. Modern armaments were absolutely prohibited, to the point where if someone was found using one or holding onto one, they would immediately be captured and put in front of the in-house judge, who was none other than the oldest son of Hector Cirillo.
“How bout you guys rest for today, we’ve made this trip a million times so it doesn’t bother us as much, but looking at your faces it’s clear that you guys need some sleep, so just eat some food, chill, or something. Oh also, your “work” starts from tomorrow, just ask someone for the route to training ground 3,”
“Training ground three huh? Okay got it, and when do I have to be there? Like how early? Or is the afternoon fine?” Luke asked curious if he could get a few hours of Genesis in before going and tending to his work.
“You wish, you have to be there before the students and the others, so be there by 6? And don’t be late…..it’s important you make a good first impression….the students, sometimes they can be a little….too proud,” Aurora explained with a complicated look on her face, it was true, the martial world was rather intense, especially when it came to discipline and, well….martial arts.
“Alright alright,” he nodded in response before turning around, he moved towards the house while waving goodbye to them, however, in his mind, he was thinking of something, of course, it was something completely stupid and wasn’t related to what Aurora had just told him.
‘So I just have to beat the shit out of them, not too hard,’ he nodded and agreed with himself, the self-reassurance he provided himself when it came to making bad decisions was something Nate never understood, it was honestly scary how someone could be that oblivious when it came to certain things.
Luke walked straight to the bedroom completely ignoring the exquisite furnishing, it wasn’t expensive in the sense that the furniture used was priceless but for a guest house of sorts, it was over the top and more than what someone could ask for. He was exhausted, not only was this the first time he was in Greece, but he had always been through some extremely mentally taxing events, the pent-up fatigue was bound to catch up to him.
He paid no attention to what Nate would do or the fact that he had to greet his family and have a talk with his younger brother, instead Luke simply crashed into the luxurious comfort that the bed provided him.
“Urgh, motherfcker….” He groaned as he stretched away the fatigue. There were only another 15 minutes left until he had to arrive at his location, it seems that the bed turned out to be a little too accepting of his lethargy and need for comfort.
“Shit shit shit,” he jumped out of bed and looked through the clothes he had in his bag, he didn’t spend a lot of time packing and that could be easily made out if someone were to look at his luggage. The image of Aurora with a burning aura around her constantly ran through his mind, it wasn’t like he was actually afraid of her, but it was just annoying to deal with.
As soon as he looked moderately presentable, he jumped into the bathroom to freshen up, with a brush in his mouth, Luke ran around the house looking for a flask and coffee powder. He noticed how quiet it was, and if he were to be really silent, he could hear Nate’s breathing.
“6 minutes huh? Not bad,” Luke washed his face and poured the cold coffee into the flask, without a second thought he ran outside and moved towards the market, after asking someone for the route to training grounds three, Luke finally decided to show the onlookers some real speed.
‘1 minute…..’ He looked at the time on his phone and picked up the pace a little more, at this point, he broke the world record speed and maintained it at a constant. He saw a huge stadium with a board that read training grounds 3, that was it, he made it exactly on time, which honestly, was quite impressive.
“You’re late, not me,” Luke panted as he dashed onto the stage and stood next to a few other individuals, on the ground stood hundreds of disciples confused as to who the beggar who just showed up on the stage was.
“Huh?” some of the disciples looked at him like he was lost, but more than that they were slightly angered by the attitude this outsider was displaying. They were disciples and students training under the Cirillo families, as Aurora previously mentioned, they were rather “proud”, however, not all of them shared the same feeling, some expressed genuine concern.
“I’m the new instructor tasked with training you guys. I really hope we don’t immediately jump to the part where one of you guys refuses to believe someone like me can be your teacher. Trust me, there’s like a zero percent chance it goes south for me. However, I have news, good news for you ruffians, instead of you lot jumping at me for no reason, how bout the best of you guys step forward and we mess around a little,” Luke cracked his neck before looking at everyone that stood on the ground, he noticed a few nervously shuffle around, however, it was only after a minute did he realize that the strongest of them were already standing away from the group, they were right next to him on the stage.
“My bad I guess. should’ve called it, anyway, do any of you guys wish to take a shot?” his presence at the moment reeked confidence, and that was something that all martial artists found intimidating, at least in the lower ranks. “Or how bout this, I can make it better, how does… you….hmm….6 on the stage, coming at me all at once, sound?”
Truth be told, most of them had heard rumors about a new instructor, however, seeing someone their age was the last thing one would expect, as a matter of fact, Luke was even younger than some of the people here.
Slowly some of the disciple’s eyes grew wide as they realized who the man standing on the stage was, he was a rising celebrity that took the world of Genesis by surprise, he was none other than The Anomaly himself.
It was obvious that people would recognize him, even those that secluded themself from the world and focused only on training, after all, Genesis was considered another reality, and there’s no way, that it would be a simple video game.
The six individuals on the stage gulped as they realized they would be facing off against the strongest player, however, after a few seconds, it hit them. This wasn’t Genesis, this wasn’t another reality, Luke didn’t have any skills or magical abilities, it was reality, and here, they were the rankers and strong players. At least they thought so.
Their nervous and panicked expression soon faded and a smug one took over. Some of them began to break their knuckles at the thought of beating Luke, whilst others had a look of satisfaction. However, the one thing in common they had in common was the confidence that they could beat him up, and this was something Luke caught onto.
“Haha, alright then.. This should be fun no?” Luke shuffled around while stretching his hands and legs.
