Unscented Trajectory - Chapter 27 - 27
Yihyeon took off the driver’s cell phone case, which had become worn out. Then, a flat chip about the size of a knuckle hidden inside was visible. He picked it up,dropped it on the concrete floor, and used the heel of his shoe to break it.
It was a signal chip prepared for the purpose of radio interference and sending a signal in case of an emergency. The signal was cut off, so the bodyguards waiting outside the site will come immediately.
As expected, a black vehicle was seen coming into the site from afar. It was only after he checked it that he was relieved.
With difficulty, he moved closer to Joohyuk. He looked down at him, who was still in a deep sleep, and collapsed to the floor. Yihyeon gazed at Joohyuk’s face and he didn’t know it would fall.
Lee Joohyuk was a person who not only forgot the covenant he had already made with him, but also broke the covenant. It felt like the floor was collapsing when he realized it, but it was okay. It was important that he was safe, and if he wanted him to forget him and be happy, he was confident that he would bury it deep in his heart. He tried to forget all the memories and covenants with him.
However, Joohyuk was exposed to various dangers several times since the incident when he was young, and it was not the only time he was subjected to quite unfair hindrances in his work. He also found out that most of it was the work of his half-brother Lee Sihoon and his mother Ahn Seohee.
The only thing he had cherished in his heart for a long time was him, and even though he knew that he had another partner, the covenant that had brainwashed his instincts shook Yihyeon. Even if he tried to turn away, words that Joohyuk was in danger echoed in his head with a dazzling light.
The regret that could not be shaken even though he had resigned made a bizarre sound and scratched his insides. And the sound reminded him of the covenant and it made Yihyeon move.
The contract period was short, but if he removed the risk factors within it, he would no longer have to worry about Joohyuk’s safety. If that happened, his body that moved to protect him would become a little quieter.
‘… I am different from hyung.’
A resentment stood in Yihyeon’s hazy eyes as he looked at Joohyuk. Even if he couldn’t remember him, he will keep the covenant he made.
‘After that…’
Perhaps he will never appear in front of him as ‘Kwon Yihyeon’ again.
He shivered and looked away. With no strength in his body, he fell sideways. He was lying on the cold floor, Joohyuk’s sleeping face engraved in his eyes. Even in the midst of fainting, his name started to hurt.
His eyes slowly closed. The sound of the car stopping and the footsteps of two men could be heard. Soon, his body was lifted up before Joohyuk.
“Are you okay?!”
He almost lost his mind, but when the men lifted his upper body, a pain flooded his left shoulder, and his eyes opened instantly. The bodyguard pressed the blood flowing from his left shoulder with a handkerchief to stop the bleeding. A painful moan came out of his mouth in excruciating pain.
“What happened?!”
“… Sleeping gas. Both… I was given an anesthetic while exposed to the gas… I suffered a gunshot wound on my left shoulder…”
As he barely explained, panting for breath, the bodyguard frowned and made a hard face.
“I will take you to the hospital right away.”
“I’m fine… just because… Let’s get out here… . There are EMP machines…”
They’ll have to find the machine and stop it to get in touch with others, but they couldn’t go into a place with so much sleeping gas and walk it around without a gas mask. First, they had to leave the site and go to a place not affected by the machines.
Yihyeon focused on the building filled with sleeping gas.
“People in the building… Catch them all and investigate.”
“All right. I will call another team right away.”
“… Executive Director Lee Joohyuk doesn’t know.”
“Of course.”
The bodyguard nodded and held Yihyeon’s body hard. Another man was supporting Joohyuk and getting him up.
Yihyeon was able to calm down only after seeing the man taking Joohyuk to the car.
* * *
It had been a full day before Joohyuk opened his eyes again.
When he woke up in the bedroom of a famous university hospital connected to the group, the first thing he did was try to find Yihyeon. As soon as he heard that he was in a different private ward, he immediately tried to go there. There were some lingering aftermaths of the sleeping gas and anesthetics, which made him stagger, but did not disrupt his walking.
When he entered the hospital room guided by the bodyguards, he saw Yihyeon sleeping as if dead on a white bed. He had a pale complexion like a corpse, and a ringer was attached to his arm, which made his heart flutter strangely.
Joohyuk, who stood next to the bed with his long legs stretched out, looked closely at Yihyeon’s condition, giving his eyes strength. Under the shirt, which he ripped open, the left shoulder was seen wrapped in a bandage. WhenheI thought that the location was where he was shot, he frowned.
Fortunately, there were no major injuries other than that. In that exact moment, an elderly male hospital director appeared with a knock outside, leading several doctors. When Joohyuk’s eyebrows twitched at the large number of people, the hospital director sent a hand gesture to the others and asked them to go outside.
When all the doctors except the hospital head went out, two bodyguards stood on the left and right of the entrance as if guarding the inside of the hospital room. The hospital director stood in front of Joohyuk and bowed politely.
“I’m the Hospital director Kim…”
“Okay, how is this person?”
Not only was his name engraved on the gown he was wearing, but Joohyuk knew who he was. Joohyuk, who had interrupted the introduction, pointed to Yihyeon and asked.
The hospital director was startled and glanced at the guards standing at the entrance. Soon, he answered Joohyuk’s question with a smile.
“The treatment went well. If he rests like this for a few days, there will be no problem in activities. It will take some time for him to wake up, however, since he took a deep breath of sleeping gas and was given a strong anesthetic.”
After hearing the hospital director’s polite words, he felt a little relieved.
“I’m taking him home. Get the process ready right away.”
“What? But…”
Joohyuk wrinkled his face and stared fiercely at the hospital director.
“It doesn’t affect his life anyway, and he will wake up after some time, right?”
The hospital director was visibly nervous and shook his eyes. He seemed to notice the bodyguards everytime.
“That’s it, but… If possible, it would be better to treat him at a hospital a little more…”
“I’m going to call the doctor and treat him. I hope you don’t mind it and get it done quickly.”
The head of the hospital, who kept his mouth shut at Joohyuk’s terrifying atmosphere, bowed his head saying that he would understand with anxious eyes.
The hospital director left as soon as he received his instructions, and a nurse came in and took out the ringer connected to Yihyeon. Joohyuk motioned for the two bodyguards standing at the entrance to come closer.
“We’re going to the penthouse. Move him carefully.”
With that in mind, he glanced at Yihyeon. The duvet was removed and the hospital uniform top, which was half untied, caught his eye. As his upper body was slowly raised by the bodyguard’s arms, the front of the shirt spread further. Joohyuk subtly wrinkled his forehead, and was pushing the bodyguard away.
“Get out of the way and wait in the car.”
Joohyuk, who buttoned Yihyeon’s open hospital uniform, held him in his arms.
Yihyeon’s weight transmitted through his arms was much lighter than expected. When he realized that he had been protecting him all this time with this body, he had a strange feeling. It reminded him of someone over and over again.
* * *
One day 17 years ago when a chilly wind blew.
Rustle-
He stopped walking, startled by the sound of stepping on the leaves. He raised his head with a very serious face, not fit for the age, he had just turned ten. Right in front of him was a large villa that could be described as splendid, and on the terrace there was a boy who looked to be in his mid-teens.
The boy, who must have been an older brother to someone, was sitting in an antique rocking chair made of wood, reading a book. His face, looking down at the book, was lifeless and cold. It felt like there was an invisible wall that even an adult cannot easily talk to.
He slowly stretched out the foot that had stopped. He lowered his posture and approached the building quickly, but not in a hurry, paying attention to the sound of footsteps so as not to make noise as much as possible. Within the range of the boy’s sight, he hid in the shadows next to the building, and gradually moved to narrow the distance with the boy.
He reached the beginning of the fence of the terrace. Now all he had to do was turn around and jump out. Then the boy would probably be surprised.
As he was thinking about it, the boy opened his mouth first.
“Come out because I heard you. I am not surprised.”
He was startled by the boy’s calm words, then shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Since when did he know
As he raised his head with a pouting mouth, the boy closed his book and met his eyes. There was a smile on his lips, but his face was alive and warm.
The boy stretched out his hand as if telling him to come his way. The drooping shoulders were straightened as if they had ever been dropped, and he climbed up to the terrace and approached him like a dog that listened well.
“You came early today.”
He grabbed the boy’s hand and pursed his lips.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to see me and told me to come quickly?”
He grunted and pulled the boy’s hand. He wondered if his body, which had been dragged without a moment to react, could be heard lightly, then turned and sat down on the boy’s lap. He wrapped his arms around his shoulders and patted the cheek.
“My Hyunnie sleeps a lot, so even if I asked him to come early, I thought he would only come in the afternoon.”
“Oh, don’t call me that.”
When he heard the words ‘our Hyunnie’, he turned his head, blushing. It was like a childish name, so it just reminded him of the age difference with him. Of course, it was true that he was a child who still 10 years old, but he was growing taller since he was still growing. He grew up like this and was quick to catch up with the boy’s height, but he was still treated like a child.
“Why? It’s an expression of affection, don’t you like it?”
The boy raised his eyebrows in a sagging voice. Startled, he shook his head. He didn’t know he would make such an expression.
“No, I don’t hate it…”
As he spit it out quickly in bewilderment, the boy’s eyes curved beautifully again.
“Really? Then I’ll call you a lot.”
“Uh… ”
He thought he was being teased by the boy, but his head stopped when he hugged him. A freshness that even the deep forest could not match quickly entered the lungs and enveloped his head pleasantly.
The boy, who buried his face in the nape of his neck, took a deep breath. His arms around him trembled slightly, and he embraced them calmly and languidly, like a relaxed person.
“It feels good… ”
The boy’s murmuring made him feel embarrassed. Like other Alphas and Omegas, he didn’t know what his own scent was like, but he thought that it would be very sweet because he liked the scent so much.
He felt it every time they met, the boy liked to smell his scent with his face on the nape of his neck. It was natural that it was pleasant to smell each other’s scent between Alpha and Omega, who had made a covenant with each other, but he seemed to be unusual. There were times when he held him like this and smelled his scent for an hour.
As he blankly sniffed the boy’s refreshing scent, his warm, soft lips touched the nape of his neck.
“My Hyunnie, when you’re all grown up, you have to imprint with me. You know that, right?”
He confirmed by kissing the white nape of his neck several times.
To become a true match with the boy, he had to bite the nape of his neck and engrave it. However, the effect of imprinting became effective only after adolescence, when pheromone was completely stabilized after adulthood. He would only feel the scent of his alpha, not anyone else’s, and the anxious pheromone cycle called estrus will disappear.
He didn’t know why he was so nervous about the covenant, but even though he didn’t say anything even he asked, he was not persistent. Perhaps that’s why he got grumpy.
“I do not know. You didn’t even tell me your name.”
Saying it out loud, the boy patted his back and comforted him.
“I’m afraid that if something happens, you will get caught up in it too.”
At the boy’s bitter words, he pulled away from him and made a serious face.
“I said I’ll protect you, didn’t I? I am good at fighting.”
But the boy only laughed.
“I know our Hyunnie is good at fighting. But if you get involved and get hurt anywhere, I think I will not be able to bear it.”
“But why is it that you don’t even tell me your name?”
The boy patted his head and smiled.
“You can call me Hyung for now.”
“That’s not a name.”
The boy made a troubled face as he kept averting his gaze with his mouth puckered.
“Then let’s do this. If our Hyunnie comes to visit me ten more times, then I’ll tell you my name.”
He looked at the boy with his eyes twinkling. There was no teasing or lie in his eyes.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll convince my dad and noona to fill it up ten times in no time. I will come every weekend.”
“Okay. I will be waiting.”
A smile naturally spread across his lips. He had to visit the villa ten times, but he wondered what would happen. If he whined a bunch of times, his sister will bring him with a fuss without anyone knowing about it. He couldn’t miss school, so even if it was only possible on the weekend, 5 weeks was enough.
Name. What was it that made him so excited?
He stretched out his arms and hugged the boy tightly. The freshness inside was very pleasant.
What was the boy’s name? What kind of person was he? How had he been living?
The only thing he decided to tell him was his name, but that was enough. He can get to know the boy step by step from then on.
The day of the tenth visit he had been waiting for.
It was the day he kept his covenant for the first time, and the day he lost his favorite scent.
* * *
“Ugh… !”
The old dream disappeared in an instant. He opened his eyes with an eerie feeling as if he was forcibly pulled out of it, and saw a familiar ceiling.
‘Here…’
It was familiar, but it wasn’t his room. He blinked slowly and turned his gaze to the side as he looked up at the ceiling. Then, a little farther away, he saw a sofa and a table more familiar than the ceiling. On the table was a pack of cigarettes, which could easily exceed ten, folded repeatedly.
It was then that he realized that this room was Joohyuk’s bedroom.
Yihyeon, who was about to get up with his eyes wide open, swallowed a moan at the pain he felt on his left shoulder and fell flat again. His shoulder hurt so much that he couldn’t even move properly. His limbs felt a thousand times heavier.
He lay still and tried to organize his jumbled brain. He began to remember one by one what he had experienced in the golf course building. It was then that he realized that the reason why his body was so heavy was because of the remnants of the anesthetic left on his body.
But no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t understand why he was lying in Joohyuk’s bedroom. Wasn’t it right to lie in a hospital room or in his humble single bed?
Yihyeon, who was holding his breath while lying down, suddenly noticed that his breath was hot. He raised his right hand to put it on his face and touched the back of his neck. Again, his body was hotter than usual.
Yihyeon, who was thinking about whether he had a fever due to the gunshot wound, swallowed his breath.
‘How long have I slept?’
His eyes shook violently. Ignoring the pain in his left shoulder, he raised his upper body with difficulty. His shoulder felt like it was going to fall off, but he clenched his teeth and endured it.
‘No.’
The heat cycle has begun.
It hasn’t been long since he started feeling his body warm, but the smell of Joohyuk’s pheromone left in the bedroom was already starting to make his heart pound like crazy.
Inhibitors. He should take the inhibitor right now.
Pheromone inhibitors to block the cycle were usually taken the day before the cycle starts. It suppressed the pheromone before estrus so that the cycle could be passed.
However, the already started estrus could not be completely suppressed even with inhibitors. Nevertheless, Yihyeon tried to find an inhibitor.
Joohyuk won’t notice it because there was no scent, but he’ll be exposed to the dominant omega’s huge pheromone and get an unwanted rut cycle. To prevent that, even with inhibitors, the pheromone had to be reduced as much as possible. If Joohyuk suddenly got drunk on the rut cycle and caught him and ejaculated inside, there was a possibility that he could become pregnant.
‘No. that… Absolutely not.’
That alone would be an obvious poison to each other.
In Yihyeon’s head, there was only the thought that he had to eat the inhibitor in his room.
As he got off the bed, he managed to control his weak body and approached the door. The moment he took a deep breath and tried to turn the doorknob.
Click –
The door opened even before he could touch it.
“Where are you going?”
Joohyuk, who he thought he should absolutely avoid, stood in front of the heated Yihyeon.
Joohyuk looked at him, who had hardened while looking at him, and noticed that his condition was strange. He was only pale when he was asleep, but now his face was as red as someone who has been in and out of a hot tub, as well as his neck and collarbones visible through his shirt.
