Unscented Trajectory - Chapter 37 - 37
While moving as if dragged away by them, the passenger’s bodyguard took out his cell phone to contact his colleagues. However, there was an EMP machine that emitted jammers from the nearby vehicles, so the call was disabled. No matter how much he looked back and looked at the side mirror, he couldn’t even tell if the security vehicle was chasing them because it was obscured by other cars.
‘I should have known that there were no bodyguards.’
It was a feeling of nervousness and anxiety that he had not felt in a long time. When Yihyeon was next to him, a feeling he had never felt before lifted his head and suddenly his face came to mind.
He was about to laugh out loud. This morning as well, he was about to leave after grabbing his head and kissing him deeply. Even so, it seemed like he was going crazy because it didn’t fit the situation.
‘It’s serious.’
Yihyeon’s calm eyes flickered, but he tried to erase it. Whether they kiss or make eye contact, he had to get through this situation without too much trouble.
At first, they quietly followed their lead and entered a quiet road with few cars. He wanted to do it this time, so he brushed the driver aside and dug between the car in front and the car on the right. The two cars collided so hard that their bodies shook, but the sudden action created space. As soon as he stepped on the accelerator, Joohyuk’s car jumped out from between them and he quickly drove down the empty road.
The four cars that were taking him followed Joohyuk’s car one after another. However, it was not easy to catch up since the distance had already been created.
If he kept going like this, he would be able to enter the main road again. If that happened, they too will not be able to encircle them easily.
Bang-!
It seems that the other party was also aware of this idea, and someone fired a gun from the car that was approaching. The bullet broke through the rear window, passed Joohyuk, and lodged near the air conditioner in the middle of the front seat.
Joohyuk’s brow furrowed. The opponent was clearly trying to kill them. If not, there was no way they’d shoot in a situation where they didn’t know who was going to be hit.
Then several gunshots were heard and the rear windshield was completely shattered. Just as he was crouching down to avoid being shot, there was a popping sound from the car body along with the gunshots that followed, and it started to wobble.
The vehicle, which was shot and unable to keep its center due to the flat rear tire, turned to the left with a tire screeching sound, and at that moment, the rear car rushed in and caught the car at high speed. The airbags in all the seats went off with a bang. There were no serious injuries because the seat belt was fastened and the airbag was deployed on time, but the impact caused Joohyuk’s car to come to a stop.
“Ugh… ”
Joohyuk, who was moaning with one hand on his forehead from the shock, shaking his head, suddenly lifted his head from a chill that came upon him.
Outside the window, he saw a gun aimed at his head. Soon the gun seemed to flash and let out a roar.
Taang-!
puck-!
A roar and a dull sound rang out at the same time.
Joohyuk caught the man with the gun standing outside through the door that he opened just before the muzzle fired. The man’s muzzle, whose posture was disturbed in an instant by a quick blow, was fired at another place.
The man tried to straighten his faltering body and point the gun at Joohyuk again. He jumped out of the car and kicked his leg up, holding the door as a support. He hit the man’s hand with the tip of his shoe, causing him to drop the gun, then he turned halfway around and struck him in the face with a kick. The man fell to the floor with a violent noise.
Joohyuk, who quickly subdued the man and glanced around, clicked his tongue briefly. His car had a puncture and was hit in all directions, causing both the driver and the bodyguard to pass out. There, the cars of the gangsters were lined up as if blocking the road, so it was not easy to avoid the situation.
One by one, men with weapons began to come out from the cars behind them, including the car that collided with the driver’s seat.
‘Is it dangerous?’
Obviously, they were trying to kill him, and the number was considerable. Joohyuk got back into the car thinking that he could not deal with it without any weapons, and opened the console box in the back seat. It contained a black gun and a magazine.
Joohyuk, who calmly picked up the gun with an undesirable expression, inserted the magazine filled with bullets to the limit and skillfully loaded it, turning his head out of the window.
At that moment, the sound of a motorcycle resounded from afar. He turned his head while inside the car, but he couldn’t see the outside properly from his position on the right side of the back seat. However, he had no choice but to focus on the sound carefully, because he didn’t know what was going to happen.
“What, you bastards!”
“Ouch-!”
There were harsh male voices and screams. There was a mix of muffled sounds and occasional gunshots. Joohyuk looked out through the half-broken left window with his body lowered.
It was obscured by the vehicle that had collided with his, so he could barely see outside, but he could see something. The people who were targeting him were attacked by some men.
The owners of the five motorcycles that dug through the cars were all wearing helmets and dressed as riders, so it was impossible to recognize who was who. All of them had black wooden swords in their hands or had them on their backs, but they were unusual, even to Joohyuk. He didn’t even have the ability to freely operate a motorcycle, so he subdued the opponent with a gun as if trampling it.
As Joohyuk was trying to figure out who they were, the car he was riding in shook violently. Turning his head, a man in a suit stepped on the bonnet of Joohyuk’s car, jumped over it, and ran towards the back seat door. Joohyuk, thinking he was aiming at him, pointed his gun out the window. And the other party also pointed a gun from outside the back seat.
As they were both about to pull the trigger at about the same time, a loud motorcycle exhaust sound came from nearby.
The motorcycle jumped over the trunk of Joohyuk’s car blocking the road as if doing a stunt. The motorcycle, which had been shaken up by the impact from landing on the ground, immediately turned and slammed into the assailant who was aiming for Joohyuk outside the door.
“Uh-huh!”
As soon as the gunman staggered and changed his posture, the man got off the motorcycle and pulled out the black wooden sword he was carrying on his back. He mercilessly slammed the assailant’s arm and slammed his opponent’s chin from the bottom up like a linking motion. The assailant, who not only felt the shock of his jaw breaking, but also the pain that shook his brain, swallowed his breath and collapsed backwards.
After confirming that the assailant had fallen, the man walked away from the motorcycle. He glanced around where his gang had almost cleaned up, and then briefly knocked on Joohyuk’s back seat window. Joohyuk opened the back seat door with his gun pointed at the man whose face was obscured by the helmet.
The man was not at all surprised that the gun was pointed at his helmet. The man looked at Joohyuk quietly from the shield of the helmet, which was heavily tinted and his eyes were not visible. Then, holding the back seat frame with one hand, he bowed his head and brought his face closer to Joohyuk.
For a moment, Joohyuk was startled. As he approached him, he could feel an obvious ‘alpha pheromone’. Since he was quietly captured, he did not appear aggressive or recklessly vigilant, but he was full of cool energy, as if expressing his own emotions and personality.
At once, he felt the stinging gaze from the inside of the helmet screen.
“I wanted you to die today.”
A low, husky voice was heard, slightly blocked by the helmet. Joohyuk raised his muzzle to the helmet screen and glared.
“Who are you?”
He had saved him, but anyone who saw him would be suspicious. They were not the bodyguards he hired, nor did he have anyone who would send these po=eople to help him The only thing that came to mind was his father, but if he had moved, in the first place, Lee Sihoon would not have been able to move as horribly as he was now.
He felt completely different from the usual bodyguards. If it were to be taken seriously, they were more likely to be a surprise attack or assassination rather than a security guard.
Who was there to command these people?
And why did they save him?
He was filled with doubts.
While Joohyuk was shaking his head quickly, the man grabbed the gun that was touching the shield of his helmet and lowered it with his leather gloved hand.
“I’m warning you.”
The man turned his body while speaking in a voice that reminded him of Yihyeon. He signaled by beckoning to those who had already organized the assailants and captured each one. Before he knew it, they had a large van waiting in the back of the gangsters’ vehicle, and they were pushing the captives into it one by one.
The men on the motorcycle must have been skilled veterans who had not only done this once or twice. They cleared away in the blink of an eye, and most of them had already departed and disappeared, leaving only the cars of the assailants.
Joohyuk got out of the car with his gun and approached the man from before. He was on his motorcycle, sending a message to someone on his cell phone. Then he noticed Joohyuk approaching him and glanced back at him. However, as if he was not interested, he concentrated on his cell phone.
With a cold face, Joohyuk fired the gun on the ground next to the man’s motorcycle. The gunshot sound that rang caught the attention of everyone who was just about to leave. The men on the other motorcycles recognized the gun in Joohyuk’s hand and stopped moving all at once. It wasn’t because they were afraid of the gun, it was just that they had moderately tensed their bodies to jump in if they had to.
“Who sent you?”
He asked, his teeth clenched.
Joohyuk hated this. He understood that the purpose was to protect him. However, whether it was an opponent who threatened him, or an opponent to protect him, he was anxious if his identity was not clear.
In his life, he has suffered many betrayals and lost countless things. He could not believe just anyone.
Confidential Transactions and Contracts.
Those who are not exposed to it should be vigilant. Aside from why the people in front of him were helping him, he had to know who their master was. These were people who can help or threaten him depending on the heart of their owner.
What do their owners want, and what was their motive?
Joohyuk wanted a clear answer to that.
But the man did not give an answer. And without a word, he raised his hand and signaled to others, and they all left at once as if nothing had happened.
Joohyuk knew that the man in front of him was the leader of the group just by looking at the instructions. So when others left, he ignored it. He didn’t like taking on the monsters he had to investigate, and he couldn’t do it alone, so he focused on the man in front of him.
Both the man himself and his pheromone were stable. As if Joohyuk’s gun wasn’t a threat to him.
The man looked at Joohyuk from the helmet screen.
“Is it that important?”
“What?”
Joohyuk contorted his face. The man’s insensitive voice sounded like he was antagonizing him.
“I’m asking you something obvious. Don’t I have to know who your master is before making a deal or being vigilant?”
At Joohyuk’s words, the man looked at him without a word. For a moment, his alpha pheromone was menacing and then it disappeared. That alone could tell him that the man was trying to disturb him.
The man turned his head and looked at his phone for a moment.
A little while ago, he remembered the face of his owner and boss who sent the situation report. No matter how much he thought about it, he was a person who did not fit the person Joohyuk was talking about with whom he said he had to make a deal with or be on guard against.
Only for Joohyuk, that is.
“He’s someone you shouldn’t care about.”
With those words, the man did not open his mouth any more.
The man left without paying attention to Joohyuk’s gun being aimed at him. At the same time, Joohyuk’s security vehicles were seen running from afar.
Joohyuk, who lowered his gun while clicking his tongue, was trying to organize his complicated brain.
The man’s words kept running through his mind. He didn’t say it was “not someone you should care about,” but “someone you shouldn’t care about.” It was even more annoying because the difference was so obvious.
* * *
“Good job.”
After attaching all the bodyguards to Joohyuk, he habitually checked his cell phone every day. And today, as expected, there was a movement to kill Joohyuk, and his people subdued them and secured them.
Since it happened once, it will take at least some time for maintenance, and they won’t attack Joohyuk one after another. Still, he couldn’t keep his guard down.
“For a while, let’s stay close to Executive Director Joohyuk.”
– Still, wouldn’t it be better to attach at least a few people to the penthouse?
“That… ”
Yihyeon, who was about to say it was okay, turned his listening to a sound coming from afar. The voices of the two men who sounded like they were caught off guard were heard from the room. He clearly had bodyguards guarding the entrance to the penthouse, and they were talking in urgent voices with a pause in between.
With that alone, Yihyeon sensed the danger.
Bang!
A single gunshot was heard. At the same time, there was a sound of knocking on the front door several times, followed by brief screams from the security guards.
“The safety of Executive Director Lee Joohyuk is our top priority. Just keep that in mind.”
– What’s wrong with you?
Yihyeon’s voice got a little faster, so he noticed something strange. He didn’t even say no or correct it because he thought he’d find out soon anyway.
“Don’t rush and wait. That’s all I have to say.”
The man on the other side spit out a bewildered voice, but Yihyeon hung up the phone without listening. He turned off the power and shoved his cell phone under the chest of drawers, and focused on the several people approaching his room.
The sound of doors opening one after the other was heard. Although he heard them approaching more and more, he was just calm.
When he noticed that some people had reached his room, he himself opened the door and went out. Then two guns were aimed at his head.
He raised his eyes and looked around. Those wearing black suits and even sunglasses seem to be agitated.
“What does this… … ! Ugh!”
The housekeeper hurriedly ran and shouted, then was hit in the face by a man with his fist and rolled to the floor. The housekeeper, who was sitting in pain, saw the gun pointed at Yihyeon, and quickly got up and ran. Then she was caught by someone else and she fell to the floor once more. It was strange to see the housekeeper staggering and trying to get up and attack.
One of the two guns pointed at Yihyeon turned to the housekeeper as if she was annoying. Just before turning completely, Yihyeon grabbed the back of the gun and directed it towards his face.
“Aren’t you supposed to have something to do with me?”
Asking that, he gave a brief glance at the housekeeper. She flinched as she tried to get up, wiping the blood from her lips with the back of her hand. After receiving Yihyeon’s gaze, she looked at him with shaking eyes, then lowered her gaze and became calm as if she had never lost her cool.
Yihyeon took his hand off the gun, looking at the men in sunglasses staring at him. The man who was aiming the gun looked at Yihyeon for a moment and then lifted his chin at the other man next to him. The man who received the order approached Yihyeon’s back and pulled out something. It was a syringe filled with a clear drug with a short needle.
Seeing this, Yihyeon was convinced that the drug in the syringe was a sleep anesthetic. After all, he knew who came up with this and what he wanted. He was just standing still without any resistance.
‘If they didn’t do this, I wouldn’t resist anyway.’
He was willing to follow along, but the men seemed to have heard enough stories about him. He had skills, but he must have been worried that he might get hurt somewhere while resisting. Because if he gets hurt again, his sister Sehyeon won’t stand still.
The man behind him wrapped one arm around his shoulder. In that state, the syringe was inserted into the soft neck, but Yihyeon did not resist and remained calm.
The stinging sensation in his neck was only temporary, and soon after, a bitter feeling began to spread from there. The sensations in his body quickly became dull and his vision blurred. The strength seems to disappear from the tips of his fingers and toes, and his knees bend and his shoulders sagged. If it hadn’t been for the man holding him from behind, he would have sat down right away.
There were some that were quite strong, but it was because he was relaxing on purpose, so his eyesight quickly became distant.
When he lost strength beyond control of his neck, the two men who were aiming their guns lowered it and blinked. The man who was holding Yihyeon received an unspoken command and he carried him.
Yihyeon lost his consciousness as he felt his body being lifted into the air.
