Untamed: The Alpha - Chapter 184
Zuri forced herself to get on her feet or at least rolled her body to the side when all of the people there were stunned to see the flames that came from beneath the lake.
All of them were silence, but it was a silence before the storm, because no longer after that, when the fire burned all the heavy machine that they had and turned a man into dust, the clamor started, as they were trying to escape from this site.
At that moment, Zuri was no longer could see what was happening, she could only hear they were shouting to one another to back away, as she hid inside one of the tent.
Zuri didn’t plan to stay there forever, she just waited for the opportunity to come out from her hiding place, without being caught, either by Liam’s pack member or Arhchie’s men.
However, she immediately learned that she needed to move along with them if she wanted to survive this.
“Apparently you want to join me in the after life so badly,” Hades said, he appeared all of sudden, perched on one of the table inside the tent, while staring at Zuri with curiosity in his yellow eyes.
Zuri wanted to curse at him out loud, but she needed to save her energy. This man could at least help her to not appear before her eyes. His disappearance was already helpful enough.
“Fuck off!” Zuri hissed.
“Oh! Finally you act accordingly!” Hades clapped his hands together, because finally Zuri acknowledge him. “You need to go out from this tent, because it will turn into ashes.”
That was so stupid advise, even a blind man would be able to know that!
But in Zuri’s case, she couldn’t move as fast as she needed to because she couldn’t shift into her beast or ran quickly as her body ached so bad.
She just took a breath when she entered this tent to hide, but then if she walked out of here now, she would be toppled to the ground by those people.
Howeve, when she watched how the tent was started to burn, she knew that she had no other choice.
Zuri tried to stand up again, pushed her body to her feet, but then she was staggering and fell to the ground.
“If you need my help, just say it, but I will count it as you accept my offer.” Hades didn’t budge from his sitting position, though the flames had burned everything behind him.
Zuri didn’t want to know what kind of offer that Hades wanted to give her, but it was enough for Zuri to know better to not engage herself with creature like him.
The flames then burned the table where Hades was sitting and the god of the underworld as well, but it seemed the flames had no affect on him.
He looked calm and serene with red fire surrounded his body, which didn’t manage to hurt him a little bit.
“Now, will you accept my offer?” he asked, opened his arms widely, as if to welcome Zuri.
If the flames had reached Hades, it meant it was only a matter of seconds before it burned Zuri to ashes and even if she wanted to run now, she wouldn’t have any chance to survive. She was too late.
In the end, she gave up to try and sat there, waiting for her death to come. Probably this was for the best. She would no longer be in pain and she could forget everything that she had gone through. The pain was still fresh in her mind, she could feel it in her tender heart.
It would be best for her to go this way. If she was going to die, let it happened when there was some of her left.
“I don’t like the look on your expression,” Hades said gloomily. This was not the girl that he liked. He loved to see her snarky side and how her hazel eyes burned with hatred, but not this one. She was empty.
“See you on the other side?” Zuri said to Hades, as the flames reached her and burned everything around her.
The tent that hid her was no longer there and all the things inside it had turned into dust.
The flames reduced all the things into ashes, destroyed everything, except her…
At first, Zuri thought she would feel the heat that slowly roasted her, ceased her existence to nothing, but then she realized something strange.
The fire consumed everything, ravished all the things in its wake, but not her… she was untouched. Not even a single hair of her that was harmed.
It was not only Zuri, who was stunned by this fact, but Hades as well. He watched in surprised how Zuri could survive this fire.
He knew this fire. This red fire did not come from this realm. This was the fire that burned the hell, but to see Zuri was perfectly fine, he was speechless.
“What the hell that Chaos up to…” he muttered to himself, only to feel a hand wrapped around his throat and he was vanished without even had a chance to see who was it.
And yet, he didn’t need to see to know that it was that abomination creature, who had done that.
On the other hand, Zuri’s eyes caught that figure, the man who was walking toward her, his scent hit her before she could see him clearly.
He walked from inside the flames, crushed Hades’s neck, as the god of the underworld disappeared and then proceeded to approach her.
His long black hair fluttered in the wind, danced with the fire that surrounded them, which had turned the night sky into day.
Zuri felt her heart leapt to her throat when her lips moved to speak his name. “Chaos…”
His eyes were no longer blue, but it was black, as black as charcoal.
