VALERIAN, THE LEGENDARY - Chapter 256 - 256 Miserable Wakar.
256 Miserable Wakar.
Valerian walked in the front, with the two guards following behind him. The guards were keeping a high vigil while the young prince was holding the unconscious commander of the Lunakes. In this conflict, none of the warriors have been captured by the enemy alive. The warriors who were grievously injured will decisively commit suicide.
This was the same for both sides. Frila and Teal still could not wrap their minds around the fact that this outlander has managed to capture a commander rank officer in a casual encounter, and the scene when the thirty Lunake soldiers were almost single-handedly taken care of by this young man was also sending them jitters.
Suddenly, they heard the young man ask, “Are you thinking about how did I manage to capture this guy alive?”
Frila was stunned and then replied, “Yes.”
Valerian smiled and said, “They cannot use poisons on themselves. So they bite off their tongues and the pain makes them suffer, breaking the limit of what a brain can handle. however, Wakkar did not bite his tongue, I did not give him the chance.”
Teal nodded and said, “We clar-awks have lost a lot of people to this man. Do you know what he does to females after the battle? He defiles their dignity even after they are dead. He is the most detested creature the Lunakes could have produced. I do not understand where he gets his courage from.”
Valerian glanced at the unconscious man he was carrying in his hand. His gaze had turned colder. Soon, Teal and Frila stepped forward and led him to the entrance of the Sripa tree lane. When the boy with silver hair stopped and said, “If you had played possum genuinely and not left a trail of your mana on the way, I would have spared you some dignity. However, you do not deserve any.”
Suddenly, the Lunake opened his eyes, with surprise brimming from his gaze. He did not know how this human found out about him leaving a trace of mana on the way. He had been very carefully controlling his body movements. However, Valerian still sensed his mana leaking from his body.
Mana was special, it had slight changes from person to person. It could be tracked down, just like the odor of a person. It will be distinct and very precise. Valerian managed to find it and that was shocking for Wakar. He struggled in Valerian’s hold but his body was tied up in a special manner that restricted his motions.
…..
Valerian decisively dropped the Lunake on the floor and waved his hand, a strong gust of wind blew and it scattered whatever of the mana was left on the way back. Then the young human tied the anti-mana bracelet around the wrist of the Lunake and then he stomped on Wakar’s joints cracking them.
The lunake commander whimpered but he was being dealt with by a cruel master here. Valerian then tied a whip harness around Wakar’s body and dragged the injured warrior behind him. Wakar’s eyes turned red in rage. Valerian was trampling over his entire existence.
This was worst than death for him. He tried to bite through the vines, and move his limbs to see if he could manage to get away, but it was all in vain. Frila and Teal were surprised by the methods used by Valerian, but they did not say anything. This was the most effective way of dragging a prisoner.
Valerian followed them through the Sripa tree lanes and soon they came to the edge of the clearing. There was a group of soldiers about to pass them but when they saw Teal and Frila injured, and Valerain dragging someone behind him, they all stopped. They rushed up to help the two comrades, while they gazed at Valerian in bewilderment.
The young prince did not seem to mind them and said, “I will take this thing to the palace, the Maiden should not wait for too long.”
Frila nodded and said, “Aral, go and inform the captains and chiefs to gather at the palace. They cannot miss this.”
Aral was one of the guys in the other group. He nodded and said, “Yes, Sister Frila.”
Then he rushed away, and Valerian nodded at the people and then dragged Wakar behind him. The word traveled fast and the entire village was shaken. The people had no idea what was happening, however, the uniform on Wakar’s body was evidence enough.
For the past few days there have been murmurs about a human child learning their ways, but today they saw the young human dragging behind a person. Valerian walked unbridled, unbothered by all the gazes and the low whispers. Suddenly, a young child, about seven or eight years old rushed up to him and asked, “Sir, is this man a Lunake?”
Valerian gazed at the child and nodded. The child then looked at Wakar for a bit and then he walked closer to the Lunake commander and delivered a strong kick to the man on the ground. Valerian did not expect this when the child spat on Wakar’s face and said, “I know who you are, perverted worm. That is what they call you right?”
Before the commander of the Lunakes could even understand what happened, another kick was delivered to his side. The pain was sharp, and the young child then walked in front of Valerian and bowed his head deeply. He said, “This man murdered and defiled my sister a few months ago. I saw him do it with my own eyes. I was burning in rage but I could not do anything to save my sister’s dignity. Sir, your actions will bring peace to my sister, you have my heartfelt gratitude.”
Valerian shook his head and said, “If you had tried to act stupidly that the sacrifice of your sister would have gone to waste. I hope that you can live with your head high. Your sister willingly gave up on herself to save you, do not waste her effort in brooding. Rise and be strong.”
With that said, he dragged the commander behind him and Wakar received all sorts of curses and spats on his face. Valerian took his sweet time reaching the palace and found that other than the guards at the doors, there were a few more people standing there. n0𝑣𝓔𝑙𝓊𝓈𝓫.𝑐0𝑚
He counted seven such people, three of them were middle-aged women and four were men. Their auras were stronger than even Fallax. Valerian did not disrespect these warriors and nodded to them with a respectful gaze.
The seven elders were surprised, this was the first time they have met this human boy, and he was holding the life of one of their most notorious enemies. It was one thing to form a bond with a dragon, but it was another thing to strive on his own and fight with someone as skilled and cunning as Wakar and manage to capture him alive.
The seven elders nodded to him in return and they wanted to step forward and take over the prisoner when a calm voice sounded, “Master Valerian, I see that you have spent quite an effort to catch this man.”
Valerian looked at the source of the voice and said, “This is not a man, but a worm who underestimated my caliber. I heard his deeds, he is not worthy of being called a man.”
With that said, he yanked on the vine and flung the prisoner at Trin’s feet. Then he said, “Please do with him as you like.”
Then he walked toward his shack. Trin was surprised but then an elder asked, “Master Valerian do you not want to see things through to the end?”
Valerian stopped and said, “Sir, I am afraid that if I heard more of his deeds, I might lose my temper. Believe me, I am not very likable when enraged.”
The few elders took half a step back when they heard this. They all could almost see his rage materialize. Valerian was really angry at this moment. He hated people like Wakar, watching his state the soldiers nodded, but Trin said, “Master Valerian, please come along, I would like you to help us in this matter. You see we do not have much of getting information out of the others.”
Valerian turned his head to cast a gaze at Trin and then after some thought he nodded. Trin smiled faintly and said, “Chief Halo, please take Commander Wakar to the dungeon and have someone give him a round of healing spells. He needs to be in a good health when we ask him questions.”
…
After an hour, Wakar was sitting in a wooden chair, with his hands and feet tied to it. He was still in his uniform, with his face swollen, and his eyes were shining with the usual sharpness. In front of him stood a man, who was panting.
Chief Halo was tired from punching the enemy continuously for half an hour. Valerian shook his head from the side and Trin asked, “Do you want to try your hand on him?”
Valerian looked at her in a non-committal manner and said, “If he died amidst the interrogation, do not hold me responsible.”
Trin nodded with a smile and said, “Go ahead.”
