Chapter 779 Rescuing Survivors

BOOOOOMMM!!! BOOOOOMMM!!!
Two huge explosions reached Monica and her team, only for the explosions to be all bark and no bite, their shields were strong enough to resist the strong blazing might, and the girls quickly charged the moment the smoke started spreading around, inhibiting the vision of their enemies!
“RAAAH!”
“Take THIS!”
“Die, you DEMON!”
“Ugh?! ARGH!”
The Demon Lord was completely humiliated as he was pierced by sharp spears all over his body, swords reached his chest and even a huge axe hacked through his left arm, blood, and flesh splattering everywhere, as his two heads vomited blood, glancing in disbelief at Monica behind!
“Y-You…! I-It’s you! You’re the one that did this! W-What kind of power…?!” He cried. “We Demons… are immune to Curses!”
“Well, not anymore.” Monica said, her eyes flaring with conviction. “I’ve finally learned why I was given this power, why I was given these Spirits I once hated because of how they could harm people so much…! I’ve learned that it was to make a change!”
Monica rushed forwards, suddenly, her shadows and darkness gathered into her hands, she wasn’t just a curse casted either. In her battle against Blake, she had unleashed tremendous magical powers and spells that could overwhelm most students.
And now, with her curses improved and her levels increased, such power became even mightier, as her hands gathered dark energies and abyssal darkness, generating two spears which then materialized into metal-like materials.
“[Spears of Accursed Abyss]!”
CLAAASH! CLAAASH!
“GRYYYAAAAAGGHHH…!”
She pierced the two-headed demon right into his two wolf-like heads, piercing his brains and then blowing them up, blood and guts splattering everywhere!
BOOOOOMMM!!!
CLAASH!
His giant body fell into the floor, completely motionless and devoid of life. The Demon Blood would had been a problem if splattered everywhere, as it has toxic and poisonous components, but her own Dress quickly spread out its fabrics absorbing the blood and devouring it… It was quite a unique Spirit.
“T-The Demon Lord’s dead?!”
“What?! Impossible..!”
“This can’t be right! It just can’t be right!”N♡vεlB¡n: A Haven for Bookworms and Dreamers.
“It was just a bunch of brats!”
The other demons started panicking, running towards the survivors, and pointing their weapons at them, some even beginning to conjure deadly magic.
“If you make one step, we’ll burn them!” One of them spoke on human language. “We’ll kill them all!”
“You won’t be able to do that if your arms and magic no longer work.” Monica’s eyes shone brightly, her voodoo doll suddenly laughed evilly, scaring even the demons as her needle floated by itself, piercing the doll’s arms!
CLASH! CLASH!
“Ugh?!”
“ARGH!”
“T-This…?!”
The demons quickly realized their arms lost their strength almost completely, dropping into the floor paralyzed, and dropping whatever they were holding as well. The magician demons also noticed their magic seemed “sealed” by a darker force; no magic could come out of their hands!
Of course, these spells were much more effective against weaker demons, a Demon Lord took almost all of Monica’s Mana to hold back until they were able to slay it quickly, and she had to drink several MP Potions right as she was conjuring these curses.
Before, she would usually get very tired when conjuring curses, or a lot of them, and could usually only target one or three targets at most, but now, thanks to the training that she had undergone below Blake’s tutelage, her curses had reached a completely new level.
Capable of cursing up to a dozen targets at once with her Spirits help, and also even able to create new curses to strengthen herself, her magic, and seal magic power from targets… She had become a completely different magician now!
“Now, charge!”
Monica roared, without wanting to lose focus on her curses, she didn’t conjured any offensive magic, letting her friends and servants do the dirty job of killing the demons one after another while they were on their most defenseless forms.
Her curses didn’t last that long, most of them less than a minute, so swiftness was crucial to slay foes with her powers. If they had taken longer to kill the Demon Lord, the curses would had been dispelled and he might have been able to fight again.
“Monica… you’ve grown so much…”
Monica’s father stared at the scene in disbelief, remembering how his little daughter was always such a timid girl, closed on her own room most of the time, afraid of her own powers, and what they could do to others without her realizing.
Sometimes when she got mad at someone, her spirits would curse them, making them almost die most of the time, it was an uncontrollable power that took many years for her to truly master.
Despite that, the traumas of her brother’s death, and growing up without a mother made her a gloomy and silent girl, always looking depressed and absorbed on her own self-loathing. She hated herself the most…
Yet now, she looked vibrant, strong, confident, and mature, a face her father had never seen before… Monica had truly grown up as a person, as a magician, and as a ruler.
.cοm “Quickly open the cells! We’re getting everyone out of here!” Monica said, rushing towards the cells, and suddenly noticing her father. “F-Father?!”
“Monica! Oh, my daughter!” He cried.
Monica swiftly covered her hands with several layers of darkness and curse energy, conjuring her [Abyssal Curse Claws] which could sap energy from what they touched and exert the same strength.
She absorbed the strength of the demons nearby that had died, and then used it to destroy the cells one after another, freeing the people imprisoned.
CRASH! CRASH! CRAAASH!
“Dad!”
Monica ran towards her father, hugging him tightly, and looking at his tattered body, and his poor mouth, swollen after having been beaten almost to death.
“Monica…! You’re alive, and you’re here… H-How?! What happened?”
“I came for you, of course!” Monica started crying. “I found so many wonderful friends in the academy… And we’ve come here to finally end this! To save whatever is left of Silvertide!”
“Friends…?!” Her father was flabbergasted. “What sort of friends… capable of doing this much have you found?!”
“You’ll get to know them later, let’s get out of here first!” Monica smiled.
