Veiled Love - Chapter 16 What Has This Fox Done To Me?
Ignoring her wide, shocked eyes, he walked up to the bed and removed the quilt. He then untied the string on his shirt and took it off, instantly Soo Jin turned her head and stopped looking at him. Her face was the colour of beetroot, she was blushing.
She heard a ripping sound, she looked back at the crown prince and saw blood on the knife. Then she saw his arm was bleeding and he was tying the wound with the ripped cloth.
“Umm, what are doing? Why did you cut yourself?” Soo Jin asked muddled.
Without looking at her he replied back to her “It was supposed to be your wedding night, we have to make it look like something took place.”
“Oh” was all Soo Jin could say.
He looked back at where she was still standing and thought to himself ‘Now I understand why she wears the veil. She’s truly a nine- tailed fox, where are the scars and the horrible birthmark everyone has been talking about? Why can’t I stop staring at her? Why is my heart beating so fast? What has this fox done to me?’
“Oi Gumiho, put your veil on. The servants are going to come in.” said Yong Sun as he cleared his throat.
“”
‘What did he just call me?’ thought Soo Jin as she stared Yong- Sun blankly.
Forcefully retracting his eyes from her, he looked away whilst shaking his head. He needed to stay away from her or else she will be his biggest downfall.
“Anyone out there?” bellowed Yong-Sun.
“Yes, your highness.” Answered a court lady.
“Send someone inside to help the crown princess get ready. We need to greet His Majesty in less than an hour.” voiced Yong-Sun.
“Yes, Your highness. Right away.” Answered the court lady.
He bent down picked his robe up and put it on. He then strode out of the bedroom.
Soo Jin took a warm bath and changed into her light pink dangui jacket with a royal blue skirt with gilded frill. Her hair was no longer hanging down her back in a braid, but it was proportionally styled in a low bun with a long golden pin going through the bun. She was no longer a girl to the world but a woman; someone’s wife.
Soo Jin looked youthful and mature at the same. Before walking out, she placed her veil over her face, the crown prince was waiting for her in the day-room.
Hearing footsteps, he turned around and saw his ‘Wife’ standing with her head bowed low and her eyes looking at the hem of her skirt. At that very moment, she looked very innocent and docile. Even with a veiled face she looked pretty, he had to admit.
“Let’s go.” was all he said before turning and walking out of the room. Soo Jin followed behind and they made their way out of the door.
Arriving at the main palace, Yong-Sun and Soo Jin made their way to the king’s hall. Arriving at the King’s hall, their presence was announced before making their way in to greet the king.
