Veiled Love - Chapter 18 Yours And Yours Alone

“If you wish for your wife to wear her veil, that’s your choice. For she is YOURS and YOURS alone.” Continued the king.

Both Yong-Sun and Soo Jin looked up at the king with a smile. The queen was burning with hatred, she couldn’t believe that this father and son duo were ruining her plans.

‘This is not over. You just wait and see’ thought the queen.

“My queen, I think you should go and check on Young- Jae, I heard he hasn’t been feeling well” motioned for the king to the queen.

‘He’s trying to get rid of me, Jin Ae stay calm’ the queen told herself as she slowly stood and bowed. Queen Jin Ae exited the room with no further words or making any eye contact with the two-people standing.

“Looks like I will be getting the cold shoulder for next 3 days” said the king as he chuckled.

“You two sit down, your standing is making my neck hurt” signalled the king. The two in sync bodies immediately sat.

“Head eunuch, bring the breakfast in, I wish to dine with my lovely Jin’ a” commanded the king.

As soon as his order was given, several maid servants attended to their duties as they efficiently started to bring out the plates of food and set them on the table.

After their duties were completed, they were dismissed. The large majestic room only had the king, crown prince and Soo Jin.

Looking around and seeing the room was empty, Soo Jin slowly reached for her veil and took it off. Her action seemed very natural and comfortable in front of the father and son duo.

Yong- Sun seemed to be lost in thought as he stared at her. Her small face was exquisite and beautiful, she had a pair of clear eyes which were pure and innocent. He noticed that she was scowling at him, like she was questioning why he was staring at her. However, that didn’t put him off as he continued to look at her like she was the well-spring of the purest water of life and the only action left to do after looking upon her was to drink.

“Enough, you are making this old man regret introducing you to my lovely daughter-in law” teased the king. The king’s teasing retrieved Yong-Sun from his daydreaming.

“Gumiho, you showed yourself to my father before your HUSBAND?” said Yong- Sun through gritted teeth as he shot iced daggers with eyes at Soo Jin.

‘Gumiho? Did he just call her a nine-tailed fox?’ thought the king.

Soo Jin slowly looked up and made eye contact with the crown prince, her eyes were clear with no emotions showing.

She slowly started to speak up, at first you couldn’t hear what she was saying. It seemed as if she was reciting something. Moving closer the crown prince could hear her voice getting louder and louder.

“Listen to me carefully, I never wanted to get married and I am sure you di.” As Soo Jin was repeating what Yong-Sun said to her last night, she felt someone pull her in their embrace.
