Vengeance Upon Fate - Chapter 15
The stench of scorched wood and flesh drifted through the atmosphere. The screams of people slowly faded into utter silence as Kurogane sat still lifelessly inside the cabinet his mother had placed him in.
“Is everything… gone..? No.. this is a dream. A bad dream. It’ll all be over in a few seconds, right?” said Kurogane, talking to himself.
A few minutes had passed and the killer already left, leaving the rest of the buildings and corpses to incinerate to nothingness.
Most of the buildings were already in ruins with the flames on the verge of putting themselves to sleep. Like every building in the village, Kurogane’s home burned to the ground in all directions, leaving only a few degraded components inside, one of which was the cabinet he sat within. Wuxiaworld for visiting.
Kurogane couldn’t move whatsoever. His face still had blood splattered onto it from his mother and his eyes, which were now hollow of a soul, stayed swollen while the rest of his body remained still.
Soon the shock began to fade as it tore open Kurogane’s wound of agony and despair.Tears relentlessly rolled down his innocent face. It clearly was not a dream.
“Why..? Why me…? Why can’t I be dead too? What use.. What use was there keeping me alive now?”
Kurogane looked down, his mind completely crumbled to a severe state of instability.
“Mom.… you didn’t leave me.. right?” said Kurogane in an unsure, crippling tone.
He slowly pushed open the cabinet doors and crawled outside with whatever strength he had left within him. Seconds later, he faced the gruesome brutality of what had happened.
…..
His mom, practically nothing but burnt, ash reduced remains. Parts of her arms, legs, head and central body were still present but completely blackened, the hair and clothing partially visible but a complete distasteful mess. Almost all the flames had died off in the village as smoke contaminated the air all over.
His heart stopped, eyes widened to unparalleled ends as he grabbed his head with both hands while letting out a blood curdling shriek of absolute terror.
{ARRRRRGGHHHHHHHH…. HRRRAAAGGHHHHHHH…}
A piece of burning wood had already fallen from the roof and landed on the floor, burning his mother’s corpse before he crawled out of the cabinet.
Tears continued to drain out of his bloodshot eyes, nearly at its limit but far from halting. He fell back in sheer horror, losing himself almost entirely.
Kurogane suddenly placed his hands on his mouth as his stomach began to hurl involuntarily, causing him to vomit in a frantic manner. His breathing became more uneven as he struggled to keep himself up with his two palms and knees.
{Hrghhhghghhh}
…
“MOOOOMMM….MOOOHMHMMMM….”
“YOU SAID YOU WOULDN’T LEAVE ME…! SO WHY…? WHY AREN’T YOU HERE?!”
Kurogane sobbed and sobbed for what seemed like an eternity. It was as if he witnessed something worse than hell itself, until his body could not bear it anymore, causing him to drop to the side and faint – eyes still widened from severe trauma as saliva, tears and snot leaked from his face.
(All….. gone..)
