Venomancer Of Gaming - Chapter 50
After obtaining the Virus Skill Book, Fatty felt pleasantly surprised.
This was because when he had been farming the Poison Dart Frogs, he had been wondering if there was an AoE skill to help him pull the monsters in a line, which would be the best option. His wish had come true.
The Virus Skill had an Enfeebling effect that reduced the target’s attack. However, the most useful part was its spreading effect, which could save Fatty the trouble of constantly using his skills.
He was the only Venomancer in the party, so he kept this Skill Book without hesitation.
The party had been formed in a hurry, so he hadn’t had the time to adjust the allocation mode. Therefore, the system’s default party leader allocation mode was used. According to this mode, the items were allocated based on the players’ respective classes.
The four remaining Crafting Blueprints did not include a Cloth Armor Blueprint that Fatty could use. Thus, they were all allocated to Night Blood Phoenix and the others. In the end, he only obtained the last enchantment formula.
It was a Novice Health Enchantment Formula used to add 50 permanent HP to a weapon. Although it was common, it should sell for a good price.
After the items were allocated, Night Blood Phoenix asked Fatty, “What do you plan to do next?”
“I still have a quest!” Fatty then added, “I’ll be farming Poison Dart Frogs.”
“Oh, we’ll take our leave then!” Night Blood Phoenix said. “We also have some quests, but we have to go a little deeper into the swamps to kill the Quagmire Puppet.”
It was no wonder that he had met them here. Fatty now understood.
Besides Night Blood Phoenix, both Night Sweetie and Night Stroll added Fatty as a friend before they parted ways. Fatty was going to farm the Poison Dart Frogs that were located at the entrance of the swamp. On the other hand, Night Blood Phoenix and the rest had to enter the swamp for their quest, which was not in the same direction.
After leaving, Night Stroll told Night Blood Phoenix, “It looks like he’s a closed beta player, right?”
“I don’t think so!’ After pondering it for a while, Night Blood Phoenix shook his head and said, “If there was such a player during the closed beta period, we would have known!”
“Would he change his name, Brother?” Night Sweetie asked.
“I don’t know!” Night Blood Phoenix said, “To be honest, when I saw him draw away three Bosses with that crowd control method so that he wouldn’t be besieged, I was taken aback!”
“Plus…” Night Blood Phoenix added, “It has only been a few hours since the server was launched yesterday and most of the players are at Level 5 or 6. However, he obtained a Level 10 Skill Book. I suspect that he has killed a boss or something like that and managed to obtain it. Since he’s alone, if he didn’t have any skills, how could he have killed the Boss?”
“Will you pull him into the guild then?” Night Sweetie asked. “We can’t let go of such a talented player.”
“We’ll ask him!” Night Blood Phoenix added, “If he really is a closed beta player, we can ask him for help when we’re clearing the guild creation quest!”
Apart from Night Blood Phoenix and the rest, another group of players was also talking about Fatty.
After the group of players from the Owl Wolf Guild returned, they immediately told Guild Master Red Wolf about their meeting with Night Blood Phoenix. When Red Wolf heard that, his face sank. A moment later, he said, “So the Venomancer was alone when you guys met him at first?”
“Yes!” As soon as he mentioned Fatty, the players couldn’t help but say, “If it wasn’t for him, we would have killed the Boss long ago.”
“Chicken Sugar?” Red Wolf thought about this name. “I seem to know that name. Oh! That’s right. It’s the guy who pushed down our dungeon ranking!”
“Yes! It’s him!” When Red Wolf mentioned this, the players also recalled.
In fact, although he hadn’t said anything, Red Wolf was somewhat annoyed that he had been pushed down by a party led by an unknown guy on the ranking list. He had inquired about this player and later realized that he seemed to be a well-known forging personage. He’d heard that Fatty had forged two Superior Rank weapons.
Now that he’d heard that this guy mingled with Night Blood Phoenix, Red Wolf had a premonition that he was trouble.
“I didn’t expect that he would actually know Night Blood…” After pondering this for a while, Red Wolf looked up and told the players, “Be careful in the future. Forget it for now. Don’t think about seeking that guy to take revenge.”
Upon hearing that, the party of players couldn’t help but look at each other. The Owl Wolf Guild had always been very powerful. If anyone ever snatched their Boss away, Red Wolf would have issued an order to chase after them. However, he had now actually told them to forget about it?
It seemed that Boss Red Wolf was indeed a bit afraid of Boss Night Blood…
…
Fatty, who didn’t know that so many players were talking behind his back, returned to the place where he had originally farmed the Poison Dart Frogs and resumed his quest.
Since he had obtained a Level 20 Skill Book in advance, Fatty had the motivation to rush through levels. As if his blood was on fire, he pulled a group of Poison Dart Frogs into a line, causing a lot of players who had gone there to complete their quests to raise their eyebrows.
Not only did the Poison Dart Frogs drop the quest items, but they also dropped special materials, including the Frog Poison Gland. This was a material a Venomancer could use to craft poison. However, the drop rate was low. After he farmed dozens of Poison Dart Frogs, only two such materials were dropped.
Fatty flipped over the Slowdown Poison formula he had learned and realized that it required the Frog Poison Gland. Thus, he started farming in higher spirits.
There was also another raw material in the formula called Snake Spit Grass. It was found in the swamp, so after he was done farming Poison Dart Frogs, he would stroll around to gather these novice materials to craft a few Novice Slowdown Poisons and see whether he could sell them.
By the time his quest to kill the Poison Dart Frogs was completed, Fatty had obtained six Frog Poison Glands. He reckoned that it should be enough, so he went back to hand in the quest first.
After he handed in the camp quest and side quest at the Immecca Horde, Fatty finally leveled up to Level 17. The EXP he was rewarded with was indeed good. Most importantly, when he handed in the camp quest, he finally obtained Camp Reputation.
However, he only received two pitiful points…
After handing the Poison Dart Frog’s poison gland to the witch doctor and waiting for a while, Fatty obtained a green Healing Potion. Although it didn’t seem to be a cure for an illness, when the Orc veteran drank the potion, he indeed got better.
“Thank you, mutant!” The Orc veteran sat up on the bed and told Fatty, “I actually thought that I would be called by the God of War, Kampas, to return to his side. I didn’t expect you to pull me back!”
“What? You’re a messenger of Prophet Avalona? Do you want to know about the war when the Chaos Corps relocated in the past?”
“It was a terrifying war!” the Orc veteran said. “Although Kampas’s descendants never feared war, I would say that it was indeed terrifying! We were having a huge war with the Holy Order Assembly on the expansive Cologne grassland. I still remember that the weather that day was really gloomy. The sky was covered with dark clouds. It was so gloomy that it seemed like the sky was going to collapse. Both camps arranged their troop formations on the grassland. At the time, I was at the front of the battle line and I could even clearly see the ghastly gazes of that group of Holy Knights ahead…”
“I don’t know when, but a heated war drum was suddenly heard from behind. That drum sound was very peculiar. I didn’t know what was going on. After hearing the drum sound, I felt a burst of blood rushing to my head. Then, without thinking, I charged forward with the clansmen next to me! I think that the blood of the God of War, Kampas, was flowing in my body. I was born for that battle.”
“The distance between the two sides was very short, but when they charged over, the clansmen by my side fell one by one. Some of them were bombarded by the magic, while some were hit by the huge crossbow arrows of the Holy Order Assembly all over their bodies… It was a brutal battle. The iron hoofs of the charging Holy Knights shook the entire grassland with a tremor. When we clashed fiercely with the enemies, the entire grassland instantly turned red with blood!”
“I vaguely remember that I was blessed by a Dark Mage behind me with an Unholy Frenzy. To be honest, I didn’t want it. If I were to choose, I would have preferred the Prophet’s Bloodlust… Anyway, after being blessed by the Unholy Frenzy, I only had one thought in mind: to kill! Kill all the people of the Holy Order Assembly who were in front of me!”
“However, even though I was giddy because of the Unholy Frenzy, I never forgot what was happening behind!” The Orc veteran looked up at the roof and said in a daze, “While the two parties were fighting, a blood-red vortex appeared in the gloomy sky. When the blood-red vortex opened, countless demons appeared!”
“There was an unknown number of ugly monsters. They had a pair of black wings behind them, four arms, and long, sharp teeth. Once they appeared, they began to attack all the creatures on the grassland frantically. The Holy Order Assembly’s people were attacked, and so was our side. Therefore, huge chaos ensued on the battlefield.”
“When I reacted, a monster pounced toward me, grabbed my shoulders, and took me to the sky. It was supposed to bite me to death, but I hacked its claws fiercely with my ax. Hence, it threw me down from the sky! During my fall, I saw some companions that had been killed by the monsters stand up again. Then, they attacked their original compatriots frantically…”
“After I fell down hard, I fainted. When I woke up again, the entire Cologne grassland was already a sea of corpses. The dead bodies of the Holy Order Assembly and the Dark Council intertwined. I could see every dead person’s fear in their eyes… This was what happened when the Chaos Corps first appeared. There was only blood and death…”
“My legs were broken, and I must have crawled away from the pile of dead bodies. When I was rescued by the reinforcements, I discovered that the Lord of the Dark Council, His Majesty Sarophis, had died in the war and Prince Gadrio had disappeared without a trace from the battlefield. That was the darkest day of the Dark Council…”
“Ever since they appeared, the footprints of the Chaos Corps began to spread across the entire continent. They left only blood and death wherever they went…”
