“Nian Zhen, I didn’t expect you to work as a waitress,” said Yu Yingyi.

“I started working as one since I had a lot of free time in my hands, plus, it pays well so I don’t have any complaints,” said Nian Zhen.

“I see, it’s just that your personality doesn’t suit the image of a waitress,” said Yu Yingyi.

“I’ve heard that line multiple times today and I agree. A few customers said I seem kind of scary because of my unchanging appearance. Am I scary?” asked Nian Zhen.

Yu Yingyi didn’t know how to reply. If she met someone whose expression or tone doesn’t change at all, she’d find it a bit scary. But she didn’t want to somehow offend Nian Zhen.

“I don’t think you’re scary, it’s just a bit nerve-racking talking to someone who speaks so straightforwardly,” said Yu Yingyi..

“Ah, that makes sense,” said Mei Xiang, her expression and tone still unchanging.

“Nian Zhen!” Mei Xiang called out, “Why don’t you repay her the favor? I heard you figured out how to repay Yingyi.”

“Wait a minute, didn’t I tell Nian Zhen to go to you and ask how to repay the favor? What do you mean she figured out how to repay me?” asked Yu Yingyi, suspiciousness laced in her tone.

“Ah, I was busy so I told her to find out herself. Don’t worry, she figured it out,” Mei Xiang reassured.

“Did you even make sure she got it right?”

“Nope.”

Yu Yingyi felt a headache forming, “So what do you mean to not worry?”

“Nian Zhen is smart, there’s no need to worry. I’m pretty sure she asked the people she works with for help,” said Mei Xiang before turning to Nian Zhen, “I’m correct, right?”

“Yes, the people I worked with told me how to repay someone,” Nian Zhen answered.

“And how am I supposed to know that the people you work with know what they’re saying?”

“One of them said that they’ve had to repay someone an excessive amount of times before.”

Yu Yingyi felt nervous, somehow, she felt like their meaning of repaying someone was different than her meaning. Nonetheless, Yu Yingyi complied.

“Alright, fine. Nian Zhen, lead me to the place and Mei Xiang, if something goes wrong, you’re in big trouble,” said Yu Yingyi.

Mei Xiang let out a nervous chuckle, she had no idea what Nian Zhen had in mind, and yet, she was going to get blamed.

Mei Xiang clutched her heart, “How could you blame it on me if something happens? I thought we were good friends.”

Yu Yingyi cringed at Mei Xiang’s terrible acting, it was too forced to fool anyone. Even a newborn could tell it was fake. But seeing that Mei Xiang doesn’t know what Nian Zhen is planning, there was no point in blaming her.

“Then let’s not waste any more time. Nian Zhen, lead me to the place you’re taking me.”

“Okay.”

With that said, Yu Yingyi trailed behind Nian Zhen as they left the store. Somehow, Mei Xiang felt like something terrible was going to happen, she even felt a cold chill that made her shiver.

“What’s going on?”

Yu Yingyi was still following Nian Zhen, they’ve been walking for a while now and they still haven’t reached their destination. She was starting to grow worried that Nian Zhen was leading her somewhere random.

“Nian Zhen, are we there yet?”

“Almost, it’s right around the corner.”

Yu Yingyi accepted the answer, when they turned the corner, there was a luxurious building without a name on it, but Yingiy could tell this was a place for people of nobility.

“This is the place?”

“Yep, let’s go in.”

Yu Yingyi followed Nian Zhen, as they entered the building, a gentle breeze blew at her hair making it flutter. There were maids lined up on the left and right to greet them as Nian Zhen led her upstairs.

“Hey, are you sure this is the right place? This place seems like it’s part of royalty, didn’t you say you’re a commoner?” asked Yu Yingyi.

“I am a commoner, but when you have money, there are a lot of things you can do that even nobles can’t,” Nian Zhen replied.

“Oh, I see.”

Yu Yingyi didn’t know how to reply to that since it was true. If you had a lot of money which Yingyi believed she didn’t have, there are many things you could do in the world.

Moreover, didn’t the building seem too luxurious? There was a chandelier on the ceiling, there were paintings on the wall, and the railings that led upstairs were made of real wood.

But two questions lingered in Yu Yingyi’s mind, where were they doing in this building for royalty and how much money did Nian Zhen have?

Yu Yingyi was led to a decorated room with a large bed in the center, she had no idea what they were doing here and how Nian Zhen was going to repay the favor.

“Should we get straight into it?”

Yu Yingyi tilted her head in confusion, what did she mean by getting straight into it? Did Nian Zhen ask her if she wanted her favor to be repaid now? If so.

“Then yes, let’s get straight into it. Can I blindfold you? I heard people like to be surprised,” said Nian Zhen.

Since it was a small room, Yingyi could easily see it and she didn’t want to ruin the surprise so she nodded her head.

“Alright, give me a second,” said Nian Zhen as she put a blindfold on Yu Yingyi.

Yu Yingyi could hear the small sounds of something unwrapping in the background, but she couldn’t figure out what it was. Somehow, being in a blindfold was a bit..arousing. Maybe she should try this out on Liya- Yingyi immediately shook her head before her thoughts could go in a different direction.

Right, when Yu Yingyi remove the indecent thoughts on her head, she felt a pair of hands grip her shoulder and push her down.
