Villain Cultivator - Chapter 761: Lu Bu, The Traitor
Police Station, Xiangyang City
“What’s your name?”
“Mao Miaomiao.”
“Do you have any proof of identification?”
“I have my clan token.”
“Are you from the Wu Empire or the Shu Han Republic?”
“Wu Empire.”
“Why are you crossing the border?”
The questions went on. Miaomiao felt like he was a criminal in an interrogation in a police station in the modern world.
It was a nostalgic experience. The environment and the interrogation made him think of the fabricated memory of Devil.
Noticing Miaomiao’s grin, the police officer snarled and raised his voice, “Sir, please answer the questions.”
“Okay, okay! I want no trouble.”
.
It took Miaomiao three hours to answer the same set of questions before the cops let him out. Miaomiao received a temporary passport, issued by the same police station. They also took the cultivation-sealing handcuff off his wrists.
Before Xiaomao left the station, one of the cops warned him, “Do not fly by yourself. If you need to travel, take the ferry ship. If you fly along without IFF authorization, you’ll be put in jail. Now, you’ve been warned.”
“Okay.”
Miaomiao let out a long sigh. He disliked the regulations of Devil’s country as it was overly complicated. The simple life of barbaric cultivators was a lot better.
As he had no choice, he followed the signs on the street and visited a ferry company, located outside the city wall. When Miaomiao arrived, he found a long line of players, queuing to take the ferry ships to other cities.
Miaomiao facepalmed. He regretted coming to USW now, and he wanted to go home. However, when Miaomiao thought of the danger his wives might have to go through, he decided to be patient.
Miaomiao followed the queue and stood at the back of the line. While he was waiting, players sneaked glances at him as Miaomiao was a celebrity among players.
They gossiped and secretly took screenshots. Some of them boldly approached Miaomiao and took selfie screenshots to flex their friends.
Despite his popularity, nobody dared to initiate a conversation with Miaomiao. After all, Miaomiao never set up common quests that every player could take part in. He always drafted unique quests for individuals, and he never gave random quests to unknown players he didn’t like.
It took him 30 minutes before Miaomiao was called to board the ship. He got on a medieval galleon, which was parked on the grassland outside the city. Upon getting on board, he paid 100 spirit stones for a VIP cabin, and a ship crew guided him to the lodging.
Players could only gaze at Miaomiao in envy. They still relied on gold coins as they needed spirit stones to cultivate. However, among the players, a group stared at Miaomiao in greed. They whispered among themselves.
“Didn’t the game put a bounty on him and his friends?”
“Yeah. I saw the website. Mao Miaomiao and his clansmen are traitors. If we bring his head to Pangu Church, we can get a lot of rewards.”
“But don’t you find it weird? He was the hero who fended off the monster army.”
“Who cares about the story? If there’s an event, we join them and get as many rewards as we can. That’s how you play the game!”
“Right. Only fools immerse into the story and get attached to NPCs. But how are we going to kill Mao Miaomiao? He’s at least level 1,000.”
“I have plans.”
The group huddled and chatted using the friend message system. Everyone grinned from ear to ear when they came up with an ingenious plan.
Miaomiao overheard everything. He rolled his eyes and was about to activate his domain.
Unfortunately, as soon as Miaomiao used his domain, a mild spark zapped him. Then, the ship’s crew member that had been guiding him to the cabin turned around to give him a warning.
“Sir, please refrain from using your law on the ship. The ship is equipped with anti-law modules, and it will attack the passenger that causes trouble.”
Hearing the warning, Miaomiao thought of the group of hostile players.
“What about terrorist attacks? Can the modules stop them?”
“As long as they’re using Qi, nothing can harm the ship, sir.”
“I see. What about physical bombs?”
“Hahaha! You’re joking sir. If anyone gets on board with bombs, they would have been arrested and killed.”
“You sure?”
“Absolutely, sir.”
“If you say so.”
Miaomiao snickered and ceased his domain ability. He entered the VIP cabin and rested on the sofa.
The crew closed the door. Now, Miaomiao had his time alone on the ship.
He walked toward the cabin’s window, which showed the scenery of nothing but clouds.
30 minutes later, Miaomiao was on the verge of dying of boredom, a sound transmission came for him at last.
‘Miaomiao.’
It was the voice of Devil.
“You finally contact me. I’m heading to pick up you and the girls.”
‘I’m sorry, but I can’t retire just yet. I have a country to run.’
“Are you sure? Pangu and Pan Mei just put bounties on your head. The other girls are in danger, too.”
‘I know. Sima Yi already told me.’
“Sima Yi?”
Miaomiao narrowed his eyes. He still remembered that Sima Yi plotted to make him a figurehead of a new country, and he disliked him now. Moreover, Mu-Nyang had warned him about the dangerous protagonists of this generation, and Sima Yi was among them.
“What did he tell you?”
‘Simple. He wanted me to invade the 10 Great Sects.’
“And where is that?”
‘West of Shu Han.’
Miaomiao remembered the geography as he once teleported to the wasteland, west of the Shu Han Republic. However, he hadn’t seen any sect or mountain other than the land of dirt.
“Are you sure? I was there, but I found nobody.”
‘You probably saw the Desert of Death.’
Devil explained. The Desert of Death was the barrier between the Ten Great Sects and Shu Han. The land extended to the far south, which was almost connected to the Continent of Demon, where Kishin Douji and his monster army came from. Going further to the Continent of Demon, the Valley of Death protected the Demon Continent as a natural barrier.
The only way to invade the Demon Continent was to attack them by using the ocean route as the Demon Continent’s northern coastline was unprotected by any valley, mountain, or natural barrier.
Listening to the geographic lesson, Miaomiao was enlightened. He now knew where Diaochan and her team were at.
“So, did you send Diaochan to the Valley of Death or something?”
‘Err, no. They have their own circumstances.’
“Why?”
‘Lu Bu is there.’
“Oh, nice.”
‘But he’s not on our side anymore.’
“WHAT?!”
That was not something that Miaomiao had expected. He sweated profusely as he imagined what kind of trouble awaited him.
“I receive a distress signal a few days ago…”

.
Valley of Death
Deep inside the valley was a deserted fortress. However, no living being loitered around here as the Death Qi in the air and the miasma were hazardous to mortals, demons, and monsters.
In the castle, a pale-skinned beauty sat on the throne, looking down on the visitors. Behind her, two peerless beauties in kimono dresses smiled at the people in the throne room.
At the center of the throne room, Liu Xuande was on his knees, paying respect to Diaochan, He Mingzhu, and Long Meifang.
Diaochan leaned her back against the cushion of the throne. She clicked her tongue.
“Why should I help you kill my husband, hah? You must be either dumb or insane to send me this request. Do you even know who I am?!”
Liu Bei smirked. He raised his head, “We know. That’s why we’re here to capture you.”
“Is that so?”
Diaochan released her Qi, revealing her cultivation base of a 10-stellar star cultivator, who mastered both Death Essence and Twilight Essence. He Mingzhu and Long Meifang also revealed their strength, summoning six stellar star avatars to suppress the visitors.
Liu Xuande and his followers were pressed to the floor because of Diaochan’s aura. However, one of them stood up and showed his face.
He was a handsome man, who wore a phoenix tail ornament as headwear like Sun Wukong. He also brought in his trusty halberd.
Diaochan glared at the person while her two followers brought out their heaven-grade weapons.
“Lu Fengxian. My husband has been nice to you. Why are you on that monkey’s side?!”
Lu Fengxian, now known as Lu Bu, took off his headwear, revealing a horn of demon kin.
“I’m sorry. I’m now an Oni, and my soul is bound to Kishin Douji. Unless I follow his instructions, I’ll die.”
Diaochan and the two girls were enraged. They wanted to ask Mu-Nyang how this happened, but one elder suddenly teleported into the throne room.
The old man was none other than Hongjun. Zhunti and other disciples of Hongjun also appeared.
The group of former sages surrounded the three girls and pointed their weapons at them. Hongjun stroked his beard and threatened them with his smooth and calm voice.
“Surrender, ladies. We won’t kill you. We only want Mu-Nyang and your husband.”
Diaochan glanced at He Mingzhu and Long Meifang. Both of them received the order from the gesture and activated their domain law.
The three women rapidly sunk into their shadow and vanished from the throne room!
However, Lu Bu and all sages also roared, unleashing their domain laws.
From outside the fortress, a white dome manifested, and everything inside the fortress was revealed. The miasma and Death Qi in the air vanished.
Diaochan and her teammates appeared outside the fortress and collapsed on the ground.
Instantly, Lu Bu reappeared behind Diaochan. He pointed his halberd at her.
“You’re under arrest, lady. Please cooperate with me, and I promise that I won’t antagonize you and Miaomiao.”
Diaochan glared at Lu Bu, “Do you understand what you’re doing?!”
“I know.”
“You scum. You betray your lord like your counterparts. I should have known!”
“I’m sorry.”
