Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 353
Annoyed he stood there as he shouted to the Qilin in the sky, “What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you planning on sinking the dam ship? Go play elsewhere!”
Qilin Kai who was in the middle of trying to burn Huishe Yue with his eternal flame stopped as he glared at this psycho. Only the heavens knew how badly he wanted to kill this annoying bastard but restrained himself.
The murderous aura coming from Qilin Kai wasn’t missed by the emperor. How could he miss the ruthlessness in those azure eyes glowering at him? Thus was the relationship of villains as the saying goes there is no honour among thieves.
Because Qilin Kai’s attention was distracted by Emperor Rui he didn’t immediately notice the black Huishe leaping out of the water with its tail aimed at him. Lucky for him his reflexes were especially good. He narrowly dodged the attack backing up a little before his entire body was covered in azure flames.
With a loud roar, he fired successive spheres of flames at Huishe Yue narrowly missing Red Bane. Emperor Rui was so pissed off that he stomped away passing by the main deck where the entire crew and the rest of the concord were chained up.
Because he had recruited a lot of half Nocru who were mostly enemies of the Pirate King he had more than enough people to match up with concord’s numbers. Though these rowdy half-bloods weren’t as powerful as the concord he had taken his children hostage which meant they surrendered willingly.
If anything happened to these two then they might get into trouble so they unanimously decided to play it safe. Because they were chained up Emperor Rui didn’t have to worry about them suddenly starting something.
Emperor Rui entered the cabin and grabbed Rui Li by the collar saying, “Li-er, daddy needs help with something. I would have picked your brother but he isn’t pitiful enough haha.”
Rui Li subconsciously struggled as Rui Yewan who had knocked his head on the wall and was bleeding crawled over to try and protect his sister.
Seeing this emperor Rui didn’t hesitate to raise his foot and kick him on his shoulder using seraphic energy. This was especially ruthless considering that Rui Yewan was basically like an ordinary person with those chains behind his back.
Rui Yewan fell a few feet away crying out in pain but he didn’t cower. He gritted his teeth and struggled to get up. This scene right here was so familiar. It was like each and every time his father came to the dungeons to grab one of their siblings like a client picking chickens for slaughter at a chicken farm.
When he got out of that place he vowed not to let anything happen to any of his remaining family but now…. it was happening again. He would rather die.
As streams of blood dripped down his face he slowly got up and staggered forward glaring at his father’s back. “Take me!” he yelled after his father with a determined look on his face.
Emperor Rui who was dragging Rui Li out the door paused his steps with a slight tilt of his head as though he was waiting for him to continue.
Rui Li suddenly stopped struggling with wide eyes glistened with tears. “No! Stay down… dage sta-stay down,” she said with her voice turning weak and brittle as she spoke.
Rui Yewan who stood with his back slouched from his hands being tied at his back ignored her his gaze fixed on the vile man. “Take me…. please,” he said his voice so heartbreaking that Rui Li couldn’t help but tear up.
“Wuwuwuwu, dage… ple, please stay down, please,” she said her voice choked with sobs.
Emperor Rui who had been listening to this heartwarming performance suddenly chuckled as he turned to face his son. The murderous intent in those eyes shook him slightly not because he was scared. It was because he gave his own father that same look as he killed all his beloved heirs and made him watch.
He slowly took steps forward as a cruel smile spread on his face. “Yes….. yes,” he said almost seeming elated, “that’s it, Wan Wan. The anger, the hatred, that madness, the darkness…. that’s what makes you my son. Hahahaha…”
The grin on his face suddenly disappeared as he gripped his neck and said, “You are just like me after all.”
He shoved Rui Yewan at the bookshelf that had already been torn apart before striding away dragging Rui Li. Having hit his head twice Rui Yewan looked like he had passed out as he lay there still.
Rui Li’s heart dropped as she silently cried feeling defeated. She wanted to call out to her oldest brother for help but she didn’t know where he was. Silently calling out his name in her heart she let herself be dragged away without struggling.
Emperor Rui stood at the quarter deck and called out to Huishe Yue who was strangling the Qilin with his body. Huishe Yue ignored the calls further tightening his grip on that delicate neck despite the flames trying to reignite and burn him off.
Being ignored, the smile on his face stiffened but he soon recovered as he grabbed Rui Li by her neck, raised her from the ground as his eyes were suddenly shrouded in darkness. A sinister grin quirked up his lips as a steady stream of orange seraphic energy began to flow out of Rui Li into his body.
Rui Li who had been silently weeping just now screamed in pain. She had heard those screams when she was in the dungeon countless times but never had she thought that scream would ever come out of her mouth the day she stepped out of that prison.
The pain was something difficult to describe and coupled with the fact that she was still a kid it was unbearable. She was not only getting her seraphic energy forcibly drawn out but her aether was also breaking apart dissolving as though splashed with acid.
Atop a floating island, Rui Fei who lay on his back with Ji Yao in his arms suddenly felt a twisting pain in his heart as a numb feeling spread all over his body. Sitting up straight with his hands clutching his chest he struggled to get up.
“Fei-er… what’s, what’s wrong?” asked Ji Yao holding him up.
Rui Fei wanted to answer but he was struck by a sudden sharp pain that he slumped forward. If Ji Yao didn’t catch him he would have most definitely fallen to the ground.
He felt something terrible had happened but if there was a problem Rui Yewan could use his seraphic energy to directly contact him so what could have gone wrong? What he didn’t realise was that once those chains cuffed Rui Yewan’s hands it was game over.
