Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 356
Rui Yewan removed the rest of the chains and contemplated moving to the captain’s cabin to hide and once his father reaches the bottom of the stairs coming from the quarterdeck he would take the opportunity to grab Rui Li.
Overwhelmed with anxiety his palms became clammy with his chest rising and falling fast. Calming his breathing as he leaned against the wall he said to Xiao Yùnqì, “We, we need to rush over to the ne-next cabin. Can you manage?”
Xiao Yùnqì stopped peeking outside and glanced over in Rui Yewan’s direction as he nodded his head. Outside Zhang Li was still causing a scene supposedly to distract the guards’ attention which was beneficial to them.
With his back against the wall, he tilted his head slightly and scanned the main deck observing each and every guard. The moment all of them turned their attention to Zhang Li, Rui Yewan whispered, “Now,” before he left Ji Yao’s cabin and quietly opened the captain’s cabin.
The two figures disappeared inside Ji Wen’s cabin clicking the door shut. The slight clicking sound caught one of the keen sensed half Nocru standing closest to the captain’s cabin.
His brow furrowed as he glanced over to his colleagues as though trying to confirm if they heard the same thing. But his colleagues were all amused by the domestic dispute happening in public. Hesitantly he took a side step towards the cabin wanting to take a look.
Meanwhile, inside the cabin, Rui Yewan told the boy to hide before he sat cross-legged and hastily engaged his aether to speak to his brother and let him know what was happening.
What he didn’t realise was that while he was doing this Rui Fei wasn’t far. He had arrived just in time to see his uncle who had just transformed to his human form get targeted by a blazing eternal force that would most probably injure him extensively or kill him.
His eyes narrowed as he dove down in his true form before a razor-sharp grey fog sliced the eternal flame clean instantly dissipating Qilin Kai’s attack. The impact from the two forces clashing was so extensive that it rocked the fleets and vaporized the falling snow.
Before Qilin Kai could react a gorgeous Huishe with mesmerizing dark crystals appeared before them with its slithering body encircling Huishe Yue in a protective stance.
Qilin Kai’s brow twitched in annoyance. He hadn’t expected this brat to appear now and from the looks of it, he was even more powerful than before. Emperor Rui who was about to go downstairs and eat some cake looked up when the explosive force dispersed.
Before his very eyes was a magnificent Nocru that he had never seen before in his entire life. Most half Nocru on the continent were a result of blending with humans and never transformed and as for the Nocru that did transform none of them was as transcendent as this splendid masterpiece. Yes, he had seen Huishe Yue’s true form but it was incomparable to this majestic beauty.
He hadn’t even realised that this beautiful Nocru was his son. All he knew was that he had to subdue this Nocru by using his daughter. Dragging her up by the collar he yelled, “Hey! Stand down or-…”
But before he could issue his threat a familiar frosty voice interjected saying, “Or you will what?” As soon as the voice fell an unexpected cracking sound resounded in the air followed by the sound of a body falling to the ground with a loud thud.
Ji Yao picked up Rui Li into his arms and released an explosive lightning flash in the skies signally everyone that it was time to fight. The sky lit up with jagged vines of lightning sparks spreading in a beautiful pattern.
Emperor Rui who had been struck on his chest by that whip clutched his torn lapel before coughing out a mouthful of blood. From that strike alone he could tell that Ji Yao’s strength had magnified greatly when compared to when they fought before but it still wasn’t enough to take down an old fox like him.
A creepy smile appeared on his blood-covered lips as he stared at that departing figure carrying his daughter away. Ji Yao wasn’t at all worried about what Emperor Rui would do. His first priority was to make sure he had Rui Li somewhere safe first then he could deal with the rest later.
Thinking he could have Rui Yewan watch over her in his cabin he walked over but what he saw made his body freeze with his breath caught in his chest. The sounds of the people fighting behind him on the main deck faded as he stared at the jade tile shattered into pieces on the ground.
He sensed someone walking behind him so he turned around with a glare so vicious it could scare ghosts into hiding and roared, “Who did this?”
Rui Yewan who had come from the other cabin after realising help had arrived froze in place asking himself if he should run or stay. The answer to this was obvious but the problem was that his mouth simply wouldn’t cooperate. When it finally managed to make a sound it sounded more like squeaks than words.
Ji Yao placed the passed out Rui Li into Rui Yewan’s arms and said, “Watch her. I have some business to settle.”
He immediately grabbed the shattered pieces and walked out of the door only to meet Xiao Yùnqì tiptoeing over with a rabbit-like appearance. Ji Yao wasn’t one to bully little children but right now he was so angry that his piercing gaze turned this lucky rabbit into a lucky rabbit’s foot in an instant.
Xiao Yùnqì was so terrified he almost peed his pants. Lucky for him that gaze didn’t stay on him for long. Ji Yao happened to have been attacked by a daring soul who had a bone to pick with Ji Wen. After being suppressed by Ji Wen for years he had agreed to join Emperor Rui’s faction and attack The Concord.
So when he saw Ji Yao he thought this was his chance. The only problem was that he didn’t expect to be met by a transcendent face like that of an immortal that had cultivated for a thousand years. Choked up by such a gorgeous face he almost forgot what he was here to do. Unfortunately, that also meant he lost his fighting chance. Ji Yao was especially ruthless slashing his whip sword across the man’s chest. It cut so deep that it tore through his flesh, ribs and lungs instantly killing him.
Ji Yao cracked his whip sword and its tip wrapped the man’s leg before casting him into the sea.. This entire gruesome scene happened in front of Xiao Yùnqì whose feet were still frozen on the spot refusing to obey him.
