Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 367
Suppressing his discomfort he caught up with him and said, “She never told me anything about you. She didn’t raise me either.”
The man halted his steps and glanced over with a blank expression. He had some idea why she didn’t raise him. Who told her to be disobedient and start a life on earth without completing her mission?
When he figured out he could get access to her despite the curtain between the two worlds he made sure by the time he was done with her she would have no choice but to return to Niuq. He just didn’t think the person who was ultimately going to open the portal would be his grandson. This was truly unexpected.
“She must have had her reasons,” he said before he started walking again. Ji Yao felt the resentment in this man’s voice but he couldn’t help swallow down the words at the tip of his tongue as he followed in his steps.
“Do you know how I can get out of this place?” asked Ji Yao as he walked behind him.
The man stopped walking letting Ji Yao walk beside him and said, “Yes….. but having met your elder is that all you can say?” In truth, Ji Yao didn’t care. The only family to him was Ji Wen, Rui Fei, Rui Yewan and Rui Li. Even Qilin Hao held an unstable position in his heart so why would he give a toss about a grandpa he never heard of?
“I,….. I don’t,” he said but the man interjected,
“It doesn’t matter. Just keep up,” before walking ahead. If Ji Yao said that he wasn’t feeling guilty he would be lying. He felt bad but what was he supposed to do? Act all excited and catch up on all those grandpa grandson activities they missed out on.
No, he wasn’t going to sit around a campfire with his grandfather and teach him how not to be scammed online by scammers. He didn’t even know how to behave around his mother let alone his estranged grandfather.
While Ji Yao was being manipulated into doing something he didn’t want to do in the first place Red Bane reached the place where the portal opened five decades ago. The area spun across the sea and extended inland but this was the exact place where the portal opened first.
At a glance, there was nothing special about this place but the longer one stayed the more they felt the desire to pack up their shit and leave.
The sea was calm with no ripples apart from the ones the ships created when they sailed through. Even then the ripples would quickly die down as though they had bumped into an invisible barrier. The deafening silence gave them a sense of uneasiness like when one steps into a graveyard in the dead of night.
With all concord members present on the main deck of Red Bane, Ji Wen emerged from his cabin hand in hand with Qilin Hao their expressions grim. This territory they had stepped into was undoubtedly dangerous and there was no need to convey this message. Everyone could feel it.
No one knew what would be awaiting them on the other side but they had to go for Ji Yao, for the concord and their honour. The only problem was whether they were powerful enough to be granted access to this place.
According to Qilin Hao as you dove down into the sea one needed to engage their aether as they approached the barrier. If one was powerful enough they would find themselves in the space in between the two worlds. If not then they would remain at sea.
Ji Wen stood before them and began to give clear instructions on who got to stay or go but before he could finish a loud splash came from Blue Urchin followed by a second one. There wasn’t even a need to take a look and find out who jumped without waiting for his command.
Rui Fei couldn’t help scold Ji Wen in his heart. Who gave a fuck about his speech when Ji Yao was in trouble. Since they had time to give speeches then he would go ahead and bring Ji Yao back by himself. Since Huishe Yue couldn’t let his nephew go alone he jumped into the sea after him.
Lan Wu who was on board Red Bane glanced over before lowering his head hiding his annoyance. He should have known Huishe Yue would leave him behind but why did it hurt so much?
Recalling what Huishe Yue said last night he couldn’t resist the urge to jump into the sea as well. But when he raised his head and saw that face he saw Ji Wen staring right at him like he was daring him to jump in. A little timid Lan Wu lowered his head and nervously bit his cheek.
Meanwhile, Rui Fei had swum deep to the point where the light from the surface no longer penetrated through the salty water. The way he swam down it was as though he knew where he was going.
Huishe Yue wanted to stop him and ask if he even knew where he was headed but the kid looked like he was going to kill someone if they dare to disturb him.
Maybe it was his love for Ji Yao or the connection they had that Rui Fei actually found the barrier. As he approached it his body was immediately surrounded by his seraphic energy protecting him like a shield before it ripped through the dark depths.
His grand entrance didn’t go unnoticed either. The middle-aged man halted his steps and looked in the direction where the sound came from. It was further away but he still felt the rip in the barrier. It seemed he needed to get this boy to open the portal quickly before anyone tried to start shit with him. His physical body wasn’t really here but in Niuq which meant fending them off would be a problem.

In a lush garden with unusual pink flowers draping down from large trees a man dressed in a robe as white as snow and a gold crown holding his hair up knelt before something that closely resembled a shrine.
The shrine was covered with pink petals and candles. On one end of the shrine was a sword with a blue sheath and on the other end was a pendant with a carved Huishe.
These items belonged to his twins that had gone missing five decades ago and each day he would come here to call them back home. Today wasn’t any different. He had gathered more flower petals and sprinkled them on the shrine before lighting the candles again.
Everyone in this household knew that the moment he stepped into the garden no one should disturb him until he came out but today someone had the balls to rush over with clattering footsteps.. It seemed they had a death wish.
