Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 381
Rui Fei’s tall and sturdy figure stood in the hallway with the starry night displayed through the ceiling to floor windows. The light from the beacon at the tallest peak reflected on his face as he closed his eyes.
It looked like he was idle and possibly lost but in truth, he had sent his seraphic energy throughout the entire Villa searching for his father. With his seraphic energy acting like an extension of his sight he searched every corner of this massive palace.
His head lightly jerked to the side when he saw his uncle in one of the rooms looking hard at work. He wasn’t certain what Huishe Yue was doing so he directed his seraphic energy to see what was on his workbench.
When he saw one of Ji Yao’s handkerchiefs in a glass case submerged in a suspicious looking liquid his brow arched upwards with a WTF expression all over his face. He was about to walk in that direction and beat up his uncle for having nasty designs on his boyfriend when the other appendages of his seraphic energy found his father chained up in a dungeon.
The corner of his lips quirked up into a sly grin deciding to deal with his father first then uncle. In large strides, he followed the lead of his seraphic energy as he retracted his power that was in other places of the Villa.
Huishe Yue who had been hard at work suddenly turned to the closed door and couldn’t help but shiver involuntarily. Earlier on he had felt a cold chill creep up his back but he had decisively ignored it because the outside weather was a bit chilly. When the chill disappeared he couldn’t help but groan as his gaze subconsciously stared underneath the door.
He couldn’t see anything now but he swore there was something there a second ago. Raising his eyebrow while pouting his lips he ignored it and continued to work. These past few days he had been working on an alternative for his nephew and when he heard his father’s stupid plan he decided to speed up his efforts.
Ever since he parted from Lan Wu he had been especially irritable like he was back to the days when he was an awakened cub without a female. He was fully aware that he was on the verge of an outburst and he would rather be caught dead than using that woman to soothe his raging temper.
That’s when he remembered that when he regained his sanity he hadn’t had an outburst ever since. At that time he had chortled with his index finger on his lips. He hadn’t put the pieces together in the past but now that he didn’t have that person beside him he realised it was Lan Wu’s scent that had soothed him this entire time.
It had never crossed his mind that he would end up just like his nephew falling hard for a man but now that it had happened it meant he had to do whatever it takes to get Lan Wu in his arms again. But for the time being, he had to find a solution to his chaotic emotions.
Thus he extracted Lan Wu’s scent from what he had in his storage and turned it into a fragrance that he could spritz on himself when he was on the verge of losing his shit. Yes, it sounded a little pervy but this was the only way he could function properly. Since this method worked for him he decided to do the same for his nephew.
While Rui Fei was asleep he searched for anything that belonged to Ji Yao in the cub’s possession and when he found it he went on to extract that scent and make it last long enough. Since he didn’t know when they would be able to reopen that portal and go back to earth he made sure to only use one item and when the fragrance was at the bottom of the bottle he would make another one.
It’s just that before he finished his father had to go on and provoke Rui Fei and as expected it ended badly. He hadn’t yet successfully extracted Ji Yao’s scent from the handkerchief thus he hadn’t informed his nephew of the good news. But at this moment, on a cold moonless night, he regretted not informing his nephew in advance.
What he didn’t realise was that the threat from earlier had diverted to someone else and that someone else was Emperor Rui whom they had tortured ever since his sister’s ceremony. They had kept him alive for a reason which was to torture him till their resentment and hate was alleviated. As to when that would happen it was a mystery.
What they didn’t count on though was the anomaly, Rui Fei. His intentions when he went down there weren’t clear but by the end of the night, Emperor Rui was a shrivelled up corpse having suffered the most horrendous death that it made what Huishe Yue and Huishe Nan had done to him in the past weeks seem like child’s play.
One might ask what on earth did Rui Fei do to his father. To answer that question we would have to follow Rui Fei’s every step that night.
When he sauntered towards the dungeon the guard on the door didn’t even hustle him letting Rui Fei in. The only problem was that he was obliged to report Rui Fei’s presence to his superiors.
Before the guard could even take a step forward Rui Fei directly knocked the poor fellow out. That’s because he needed as much time alone with Emperor Rui.
That guard reporting would just result in his quality time with his father being cut short. Once he knocked down the guard he walked over in slow strides into the dungeon. When he saw his father bound by a dozen latrion chains covered in blood and wounds his heartfelt inexplicable happiness.
The statement ‘what comes around goes around’ had somewhat been validated at this moment. He half knelt down to meet his father’s eye level as he took out an elixir to wake him up. How could he fully enjoy this moment when the person was passed out?
In a matter of seconds, Emperor Rui’s body quivered as he slowly opened his eyes. Struck by a sudden burst of pain from the torture he groaned as he raised his head.. That’s when he met Rui Fei’s line of sight.
