Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 399
Stroke after stroke Ji Yao completely lost himself painting ceaselessly. This state of mind was not only difficult to transition into but it was also very difficult to extricate oneself from. This meant for an entire twenty-four hours, Ji Yao didn’t so much as open that door.
Big Hei and Xunshi Zhe the professional babysitters had run the entire ship also not forgetting to check up on Ji Yao. It would be bad if the kid dies in there. But each time they checked on him Ji Yao was in a trance.
Ji Wen had told them if this happened they shouldn’t do anything until a day and a half had passed. As soon as the grace period lapsed they should do whatever it takes to get his mind out of that state.
Being diligent babysitters they opened the captain’s cabin door ten minutes in advance but instead of a frantically painting zombie-like Ji Yao they heard, “Son of a bitch!”
You know what they did right after that? They tiptoed out of there and lightly closed the door behind them. As soon as they turned their faces to the main deck they heaved a sigh and went on to make an announcement.
“Attention everyone….. can I please have your attention,” yelled Xunshi Zhe.
“Your very survival depends on it so listen up….. hey you… in the blue robe. Yes you, eyes over here,” said Big Hei trying to make sure that no one accidentally loses their lives today.
Zhang Ci who was in the blue robe stared at him with wide eyes. How can Big Hei not know his name? Pointing at his chest he said, “I am Zhang Ci… you know me.”
“I don’t care what your name is just listen. If you value your life don’t enter this room….. understood?” explained Xunshi Zhe as Big Hei nodded in agreement.
As for why Ji Yao was so pissed off, well that’s because of this….
Remember that time when a certain someone followed Huishe Nan’s advice that wasn’t meant for her? What advice? It’s the one where Huishe Nan said to Rui Fei, “If you want something you have to fight hard for it.” Great advice, right?
Well, she had been practising it ever since. In her mind, she believed being the best means you deserve the best. So after getting home that day she had a long heated discussion with her parents.
Despite their dissuasion, she stuck to it. Unwilling to offend Huishe Nan they told her to do whatever she wants but not go too far to the point of angering Rui Fei. After that, she was like a clingy ghost appearing in front of Rui Fei and vanishing before he could react. Being a skimming bitch she devised the perfect plan to take down Mount Tai.
She would never show her face in front of Rui Fei in private but rather in public. That way she would never encounter Rui Fei’s wrath. She would also never stay longer than she should. She only stayed long enough to start rumours. By the end of the week, everyone had already started counting down to the wedding day and picking what they will wear at the occasion.
In everyone’s eyes, they were the perfect match. It was just Rui Li and Rui Yewan who knew that Rui Fei was real close to exploding. Even Huishe Yue felt it when he practised with his nephew once in the arena. That anger and aggression frightened him so much that he ran to his father for shelter.
These were the warning signs that Rui Fei was about to lose his shit in public too. After months of this Rui Fei had hinted to Huishe Nan that he wasn’t happy about the rumours but the clan leader couldn’t do anything because she hadn’t gone too far.
Even if he was to call her family and address it they would just say Huishe Yingtao met him by coincidence and that they had nothing to do with the rumours. That might be the case but when Ji Yao finally got to paint all he saw was that woman’s smitten face. He knew his cub was very innocent but what if she hooks him before that portal opened.
Her methods appeared subtle but in Ji Yao’s eyes, they were very aggressive. I emphasise again, this was in Ji Yao’s eyes. She appeared in his paintings three times but that was three times too many. So yes, he screamed, “You son of a bitch,” giving the pair of babysitters ample time to get everyone on high alert.
When the door was kicked open the next day everyone pretended to be either busy or invisible. No one had the balls to greet him. Even Zhang Ci knew when to keep his trap shut.
Ji Yao walked up to the quarterdeck exuding an icy chill that could freeze hell over. When he got to the helm of the ship, Xunshi Zhe obediently made way for him.
He didn’t even need to say anything. The pair of babysitters immediately barked orders with those red sails coming down promptly. In a matter of seconds, Red Valkyrie that had been sailing at a snail’s pace was tested to its limits crossing the sea at its maximum possible speed.
Meanwhile, the culprit who made the ice-cold prince of the sea upset across worlds felt a tingly sensation down her spine like she was in danger but she couldn’t understand why she would feel that way when she was in the clan leader’s villa.
Her finger that had been holding the embroidery frame was suddenly pricked by the needle she was pushing up from the bottom. Huishe Shushi (Huishe Nan’s wife) who had been calmly teaching her suddenly panicked.
“Are you okay?” she asked as she placed her tools down before walking over to her. As to why she was hanging out with her despite knowing very well that her grandson, husband and son didn’t like having her around was because the old woman was lonely.
In the past, she did occasionally spend time with Huishe Yingtao but the ones that kept her company most of the time was Wei Wei or Huishe Tong when he snuck out to see her.
Now that the two people she spent time with were gone she began to see Huishe Yingtao often. She felt especially guilty when her grandson hurt such a sweet-natured female so she began to interact with her more often.
Who would have thought Huishe Yingtao would use this relationship to try and get more chance encounters with Rui Fei which rarely happened through this means but sometimes she would get lucky like today.
While the older female was fussing over her wound Huishe Yue suddenly walked into the garden at the centre of the Villa and behind him was Rui Fei. They were passing by going to meet representatives from the Kunpeng clan who had come to report on the last keystone but this was the exact kind of chance encounter she desperately wanted.
Huishe Yue couldn’t ignore his mother but Rui Fei was shameless enough to continue walking. He directly passed with his two minions behind him giving Huishe Yingtao the stink eye while they were at it.
Huishe Yingtao could give a rat’s arse about their stinky looks because the entire time she was following Rui Fei with her piercing gaze. His looks were so breathtaking that despite him wearing a black robe which was something so rare in their clan, he gave her bad-boy vibes that had her drooling. This cub was turning her into a fucking pervert just by striding away. What more if he spoke to her?
Rui Fei almost made it across the garden but his grandmother had to go on and notice him. “Fei-er! This child… why aren’t you paying respects to your Nana,” she said effectively making his steps pause. Thinking of the amount of vinegar his Yao-ge would drown in if he was here he played deaf. Just like that, he continued walking so did Rui Li and Rui Yewan.
Huishe Yue glanced at the culprit who was gawking at his nephew’s disappearing figure. He could only appease his mother before catching up with Rui Fei.. It was at that moment Huishe Yingtao was struck with an inspirational thought. Did this older female know that her grandson is simping on a Qilin?
