Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 408
Qilin Kai who had been in the peanut gallery all this time was suddenly smacked right down to earth by a powerful tail that came from who knows where.
Because he was caught unaware he couldn’t gain his footing which meant his face directly kissed the ground with a loud thud.
Within the cloud of dust, Qilin Kai raised his head about to curse the person who did that to him. But as he spat out soil from his mouth and saw who had hit him his mouth shut itself up with little to no effort.
In front of him was Huishe Nan staring down at him with his tail vanishing into thin air. The way he looked at him Qilin Kai thought he was a dead man. But in the next second Huishe Nan turned on his heels and walked off. In place of him was now Qilin Hao wearing a supercilious smile.
“Cousin there is really no need to say much. You already understand the predicament you are currently in. It’s either I hand you over to them so they can do as they please or…. you keep your mouth shut and we all move on. Don’t get me wrong… I would love to kill you right now but you are still so useful to me,” she explained as she took a few steps forward.
Qilin Kai wiped his mouth with a handkerchief trying to remove the dirt mixed in with blood and saliva on his lips as he got up from the ground. With a light chuckle, he stared straight at her the cowering look from when he saw Huishe Nan non-existent.
“It’s funny how you think you have the upper hand in this situation… Let me ask you something, Qilin Hao. Where did you think I was coming from just now? Uncle might think you don’t like Ji Yao but I know you better than anyone else. So guess what I did?”
Before he could carry on Qilin Hao unsheathed her sword and as she swung it it extended into a whip sword. With the fiery blaze spreading to the tip she made a move to strike Qilin Kai, the emotions in her eyes frightening.
Qilin Kai immediately took out his sword blocking Qilin Hao’s strike. The whip sword coiled around Qilin Kai’s sword and as they both tugged their weapons entangled further. They glared at each other with intense hatred as an insummable amount of seraphic energy filled the atmosphere.
A vicious fight was most definitely going to break out but Qilin Hao didn’t have the time to settle family matters right now. She grinned like a villainous character in a tragic movie placing her cards on the table.
“You can let that information reach Qilin San that is if you are okay with your son getting caught up in this mess,” she said throwing it out there into the universe.
From the way, Qilin Kai was acting it was safe to say that he had already sent someone ahead to tell Qilin San where Ji Yao was. This was to use Ji Yao as leverage just in case Qilin Hao or the Pirate King strayed and decide to act out of turn which they obviously did.
Looking like he had heard the biggest joke of the century Qilin Kai chuckled in a deriding tone. What son? That was impossible. “Seriously….. you must think I am stupid,” he said followed by another round of laughter but that smile sank when he saw Wei Wei pushing through the crowd with her wrists bound.
“You bitch, where is my son?” she yelled as she dashed over to Qilin Hao with her claws aimed at the woman’s face.
Qilin Hao swiftly retracted her sword and grabbed Wei Wei’s bound wrists before lifting her with one hand. She snorted coldly her menacing gaze fixed on Qilin Kai. “So weak,” she said and tossed Wei Wei away, “I can’t believe this is my cousin’s type.”
Qilin Kai couldn’t even get angry at her words because his gaze was fixed on Wei Wei. He didn’t even dare to look in the direction of the Huishe clan. He had not only done the shameful thing of sleeping with someone else’s betrothed but he also left evidence behind. His cub was even raised as a Huishe for so many years.
Balling in tears Wei Wei crawled over and grabbed the hem of his robes saying, “Kai-ge, you have to….. you have to save our son. Little Tong Tong must be afraid. This, this bitch has him…. make her give him back to me.”
Huishe Yue who had been watching on the side couldn’t help but sneer at this melodrama unfolding before his eyes. What loyalty? He had been played for years by that tear-stained face and the sad part was that he was too stupid to notice. While he was averting his gaze he coincidentally met Lan Wu’s eyes staring straight at him.
His downturned lips rose subconsciously but he suppressed it when he saw his father eyeing him. Terrified out of his mind he changed his expression to a serious one. This was for his father not to figure out who among the crowd was Lan Wu.
Lan Wu who had seen the person he hadn’t thought he would be able to see ever again was so excited that he couldn’t take his eyes off Huishe Yue. When he saw that sad look on the man’s face when his wife was being affectionate with another man in front of everyone Lan Wu couldn’t help but feel a ping in his heart.
He suddenly had the subtle feeling that Huishe Yue still cared for that Wei Wei woman. But when he saw that smile on the man’s face and his attempt to hide those casual glances from his father he felt a little warm inside. Too bad Tong Tong wasn’t Huishe Yue’s child.
He really didn’t mind this family of three. Having raised Tong Tong for a number of years he had developed an attachment to him. He was at least happy that Tong Tong had a mother who loved him.
Qilin Kai didn’t even need an explanation. He already knew that this son of his really did exist and he is currently with Ji Yao on that ship. He knew at that moment that things weren’t good.
“You might think Qilin San wouldn’t care about Xiao Tong as he doesn’t know that he is his grandson but it’s exactly that he doesn’t care that you should be worried. To get to Ji Yao he will kill everyone on board as long as he gets what he wants.”
“And if he does know about Xiao Tong then he will finally have someone important to you to blackmail you with. So….. what would it be cousin? We watch both our cubs perish in the hands of a mad man or we work together?”
Qilin Kai inhaled deeply as he faced his cousin who was for once being sincere. They were both crazy but when it came to their cubs they were rather protective. “Fine…. I will take care of it but,” he replied as he took a step forward.. Pointing at her with his index finger he said, “If anything happens to my cub I will make you regret it.”
