Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 442
The bright sails of Red Valkyrie seemed dazzling under the moonlight as its hull sliced through the high tides with huge splashes. The sea was no longer as calm as before making it seem like it was meant to match up with Red Valkyrie’s temperament.
Her crew wasn’t relaxed either. They were running around in all directions following Big Hei’s orders. Because they were on high alert they had to be prepared for conflict though looking at how things are right now there was no enemy in sight.
Besides Red Valkyrie sailing at its highest possible knot, the atmosphere was relatively serene. While others were running around Ji Yao was laying on the bed with Rui Fei next to him. As the captain, he had worked the entire day steering the helm of the ship while making sure every detail was followed to the t. For him to take a break it took so much convincing and now that Rui Fei had got him to lie down he wanted to coax him to sleep.
The two lay face to face with their eyes open and their hands to themselves which was extremely difficult for one of them though he would never admit it. And why were they acting all conservative despite having done a whole lot more the previous night?
It was because Ji Yao had been accused of being handsy by Rui Fei and vice versa. So they decided to play a game on called ‘who will put his hands on the other first’ which was very interesting to watch.
At first, Rui Fei was absolutely confident in himself but now lying down looking straight into that person’s eyes he found it very difficult to hold back and Ji Yao could see it.
“You are going to break, aren’t you?” asked Ji Yao with a grin plastered on his face.
Rui Fei tucked away the strands of his hair brushing against his face behind his ear as he replied, “Does touching your hair count?” After saying this he strategically placed his clasped hands under his cheek preventing himself from reaching out subconsciously.
Ji Yao chuckled as he asked, “Anything on me is off limits that includes my hair. Why?”
“Well because you have a little something in your hair,” replied Rui Fei staring at the fluffy white lint trapped within Ji Yao’s strands. Because his hair was jet black it was especially conspicuous making it easy for one to spot.
“You can just tell me where it is and I will remove it,” replied Ji Yao with his eyes shifting upwards to see. He loved his hair being neat and knowing something was in it made him a little uncomfortable. Lifting his hand he began to gently tug at his strands while Rui Fei directed him.
“No left…. left, baby that’s right,” said Rui Fei as he watched Ji Yao’s fingers brush past the lint several times.
“My right is your left so how is this wrong? Is it here?” asked Ji Yao a little vexed.
“A little to the right… there, stop it’s there… no, why did you…. let me do it,” said Rui Fei and just like that Ji Yao watched him lose the game with a subtle smile.
Rui Fei who had lost and hadn’t realised it yet looked at the lint for a while before shifting his gaze back to Ji Yao. What he was met with was a gloating smile and the words, “You lost… you groped me first.”
“AHH….. You played me, fuck… and what’s up with that groping nonsense when you obviously groped me first,” said Rui Fei as he tossed away the annoying lint in the air before lying on his back.
“You obviously groped me first just now,” replied Ji Yao finding this rather amusing.
“Yes now I did but before how many times did you grope my ass while you were steering the helm of the ship. Twice…. no three times. I was so embarrassed,” replied Rui Fei acting all innocent like he hadn’t committed a few offences himself.
Ji Yao’s eyes widened as he pinched Rui Fei’s waist saying, “Embarrassed? Ha, how shameless. It was obviously once and I was checking your ass. It seemed more fleshy than a few years back and I was curious.”
“That one time you pinched it thrice and everyone saw it. I was ashamed….. you need to compensate me. Take responsibility Yao-ge. Now that everyone knows we are in that kind of relationship no one will want me so take responsibility.”
Line after line, it was all laced with a thick coating of shamelessness that Ji Yao laughed out loud. He knew Rui Fei was playing at something so he decided to play along and see where this was headed.
“Of course, they already know that you belong to me so what’s wrong with me touching a little? Ugh, fine fine fine… how do you want me to take responsibility? Do you want me to go in front of everyone and tell them that we are in love or do you wan-,” he said before Rui Fei cut him off saying,
“Marry me?”
Ji Yao, “…”
Ji Yao’s laughter died down as he watched Rui Fei closely. There were no signs of mockery on his face and his words weren’t spoken humorously or flippantly. Rui Fei was very serious when he asked this.
Ji Yao’s heartbeat became erratic with his face heating up the longer he looked into Rui Fei’s eyes. They had called each other husband and wife a couple of times but it never crossed Ji Yao’s mind to actually tie the knot. He didn’t even know if they had to. Was it necessary?
But whether necessary or not he loved Rui Fei and knew for a fact that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with him. If it meant bowing to heaven and earth then he would do it.
Rui Fei suddenly shifted forward with their foreheads pressed together and asked again, “Yao-ge, will you marry me? I am more than willing to marry into your family and take your family name.”
“But the Confucius philosophy of filial piety…..,” murmured Ji Yao completely missing the point.
“I reject my father… I rejected him a long time ago and refused to acknowledge him so I will ditch the Rui family name when we marry,” said Rui Fei as his hand gently caressed Ji Yao’s cheek. What he should have said was that from the moment he killed his father he had completely signed off the Rui family name. His grandfather had tried numerous times to get him to change it to Huishe but he would rather change it to Ji.
Ji Yao processed everything Rui Fei had said to him and was about to give him a response when a loud explosion shook the left side of the ship causing the pair to roll out of bed and onto the ground.
Rui Fei was fast to react wrapping his arms around Ji Yao protecting him from harm as they rolled on the floor a couple of times.. When they stopped moving Rui Fei had his hand cupping the back of Ji Yao’s head while lying on top of him.
