Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 443
“Are you alright?” he asked staring straight down at Ji Yao.
Nodding his head Ji Yao stared blankly at Rui Fei thinking more about what they had discussed and less about what just happened now.
Rui Fei heaved a sigh of relief before asking again, “What was that?… do you want to take a look?” While saying this he scanned around assessing the damage in the cabin but other than a few things dropping on the floor there wasn’t any significant damage.
“Yes… just get off me first,” whispered Ji Yao his face covered by Rui Fei’s hair flowing down.
Rui Fei leaned down and kissed his forehead before getting up but just as the two stood up another tremor shook their bodies resulting in them falling over with Rui Fei on top of Ji Yao again.
Ji Yao who had been pressed down twice couldn’t help but ask, “You are horny, aren’t you?”
Rui Fei, “No… well, yes but not now. You know it wasn’t on purpose.”
A second later the two of them walked out of the captain’s cabin and saw parts of the water surface burning with a bright orange blaze like someone had spilt a flammable substance on it.
The crew had barely managed to ward off the attack to prevent damage to the ship. Xunshi Zhe had steered the ship away while Big Hei launched his chains towards the assailant to knock them out of the skies.
Ji Yao hurriedly drew out his sword and yelled, “Drop the anchor and steer starboard!!” because before them was a vicious stream of azure flames coming for the figurehead of the ship. Such a sharp turn shook everyone and everything onboard excluding Ji Yao and Rui Fei who had taken this fight to the skies.
From within the shadows, Ji Yao clashed with a flaming red sword sending him back a few feet. Rui Fei on the other hand transformed into his true form and bellowed releasing explosive energy but it barely did anything to the shadow that remained unmoved.
Rui Fei swooped up Ji Yao making him ride on his back before slithering his body in an intimidating stance glaring at the shadow. Below on the ship thing weren’t good either. The crew had to fend off two pureblood Qilin that had landed on their ship and were doing everything in their power to sink Red Valkyrie to the bottom of the sea.
Qilin San emerged from the shadows with a blazing orange flame in his palm chuckling maniacally. “Hehehe, how touching. Never in my years did I ever think that I would see such a picture. A Qilin and Huishe working together to go against their own kind. How fascinating.”
The glowing flames partially exposed half his face with his upturned pheonix eyes reflecting the light of the blaze painting an eerie picture. “You actually think that the both of you can defeat me? That must be the funniest thing I have heard. How about it Ah-Yao….. how about you do grandpa a favour and give yourself up so we can all move on, huh?”
As he said this his blade began to extend segment after segment from within the darkness with a clanging sound. Ji Yao furrowed his brows watching this and couldn’t help be even more vigilant.
Someone like Qilin San wasn’t one to play fair in a fight. His expression seemed like he had something sinister hidden under his sleeve all in the name of capturing the three chess pieces in the shortest possible amount of time.
Ji Yao rubbed Rui Fei’s head and whispered, “Be careful,” before he leapt off Rui Fei’s body and lunged forward with his sword whip in his hand.
Qilin San laughed like a villainous character in a Disney film before vanishing on the spot. He might have vanished but Ji Yao could still sense him. He spun around and strike his sword in a certain direction while Rui Fei coordinated with him attacking the same spot.
Ji Yao managed to block Qilin San’s incoming attack but Rui Fei wasn’t as lucky. Qilin San sent forth a set of flames shaped like arrows in his direction slicing part of his body. Rui Fei was quick to act transforming into his human form to dodge the attack but the side of his face was slashed.
Ji Yao frowned seeing this so he besieged Qilin San with their flaming whip swords clashing with extensive air blast shockwaves. Ji Yao was seriously challenging Qilin San but his grandfather seemed to see it as a joke.
He chuckled endlessly while chiding him. “You are exceptional… but your problem is that you fight with emotions which makes you weak!”
“Feelings make you weak…. this,” he said as his whip sword wrapped around Ji Yao’s wrist and pulled him closer, “gives your opponent an advantage.” When he said this their faces were close together that Ji Yao could see the veins throbbing on his forehead.
Gritting his teeth he engaged his aether and concentrated his seraphic energy in his fist.
BAM!!
BAM!!
These were the simultaneous sounds of fists striking flesh. It seemed both Qilin San and Ji Yao had the same plan. The incredulous impact from these strikes was powerful enough to send the two of them flying in opposite directions.
While Ji Yao struggled to regain his footing and attack Qilin San again he felt a powerful string wrap around his waist before pulling him back. The power contained in this string was no joke. He could sense it’s strong energy fit snugly on his body.
When he looked up following the other end of the string that was almost invisible Ji Yao was met by Rui Fei’s serious expression as he held part of the string that was winding around his wrist.
Ji Yao, “….”
Rui Fei shrugged his shoulders and said, “Just in case,” before tugging at it bringing him closer.
“You aren’t serious are you?” he said staring straight at Rui Fei.
“Very serious,” replied Rui Fei as a luminous pattern appeared on his forehead and spread down to his arm before disappearing into the retractable double-bladed sword which released the twin blades with a click.
The pattern spread throughout the entire weapon with a blazing grey colour. “Cool,” said Ji Yao as he rushed over to meet his grandfather head-on.
Rui Fei smiled happily after being praised but didn’t dally further rushing forward to support Ji Yao. Meanwhile below the main deck of Red Valkyrie one of the Qilin that had attacked the ship managed to slip past the crew.
His expression looked like he was looking for someone on this ship. He was none other than Qilin Kai’s father who came to find his precious grandson who was being held hostage.
Knowing that their family’s cub hadn’t awakened yet he followed after Qilin San and begged for the clan leader to take him along.
In exchange for his full-fledged loyalty, Qilin San permitted it.. It’s just that he had no idea where to start looking in this massive ship.
