Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter 444
As the skies lit up in a two vs one match Qilin San found himself a little flustered. He had anticipated that he might have to fight with this unusual pair but he didn’t think they would be this difficult to deal with.
It wasn’t just their strength but their ability to coordinate making this extremely troublesome. He had originally thought this task was going to be easy. A get in get out job but things weren’t as easy as they seem. He just hoped that Qilin Yanjing, Qilin Kai’s father, would bring that brat sooner so he could use his old tactic to get them to give up by themselves.
This was Qilin San’s go to plan. He hated problematic things and always resorted to all kinds of underhanded means to subdue his enemies. That is to say, he much preferred the easy way out but he would most definitely fight if the need arises.
His body surrounded by fire-like energy he glared at the two from afar with an evil smile on his face. He couldn’t understand why they were inseparable but now that he looked carefully he could see. Though faint, he could see a taut string between the two of them that was easy to miss.
A mocking chuckle suddenly escaped his throat as he fixed his piercing gaze on Ji Yao. This supposed grandson of his actually permitted a Huishe, be it half Huishe, to put him on a leash like a puppy.
He had long disowned Qilin Hao and had openly stated that whatever she and her descendants do it had nothing to do with their Qilin clan but now he couldn’t help but feel like his ancestors and their reputation had been trumped on. This was truly disgraceful.
With a high pitched crackle, he swung his whip sword slicing through the air causing a massive shockwave that even the water surface below them parted due to the force.
“You and your mother are truly worthless. It seems kicking her out of the clan wasn’t enough. I should have just killed her and prevented such a shameful thing as you from being conceived….. You have insulted the Qilin clan by allowing that Huishe to treat you like a dog on a leash. Don’t you have any sense of pride or have you been blinded by love?”
The smile on his face had long vanished with the aura surrounding his body becoming even more violent. Anger, dissatisfaction, shame, you name it, he was feeling it all. At this point, he could care less about keeping Qilin Hao in check and just chop down this scandalous blood relation.
The corner of Ji Yao’s lip quirked up his eyes glowering at Qilin San like a devil eyeing its prey. “What is the Qilin family name to me? My surname is obviously Ji,” he replied as the dark skies were suddenly filled with vicious lightning bolts and sparks spreading like a parasitic climber plant wrapping its vines around a tree to draw out its life essence.
Ji Yao’s eyes transformed with one a bright blue and the other glowing like embers in an incinerator. His entire body was enveloped in a blazing flame and in his hands were spheres of lightning and flames mixed together rotated with a loud sizzling sound like they were impatiently waiting to scorch something.
When the spheres reached a critical level Ji Yao glanced over towards Rui Fei and lightly nodded his head. Rui Fei instantly understood. With a loud bellow, Ji Yao stretched out his hands releasing the spheres which shot out, broke into multiple spheres and struck the bolts of lightning descending from the skies setting them alight.
The bolts of lightning coupled with the flames targeted Qilin San attacking him from all directions. While Ji Yao was controlling the fiery lightning storm Rui Fei engaged his aether and dark grey seraphic energy began to simultaneously strike Qilin San.
While his seraphic energy went ahead he navigated through the ferocious storm and with the swing of his double-bladed sword he descended upon Qilin San.
Qilin San who had to ward off both the fiery lighting storm and Rui Fei’s sinister seraphic energy that was trying to intrude his aetherial veins and infiltrate his body was now at the end of his straw.
Tired of playing such childish games he accumulated the right amount of seraphic energy in his aether and as Rui Fei descended from the sky to strike him he unleashed his power.
BOOM!!!!!!
That was the sound that ripped through the skies dispersing the deadly storm and sending both Ji Yao and Rui Fei flying. Even Red Valkyrie wasn’t spared. She tilted to the side causing the Rui siblings who had once had the upper hand against Qilin Yanjing to be thrown off to the side.
Because some of the seawater seeped onto the ship the lanterns brightening the halls of the lower deck got wet hence blew out.
“Fuck,” swore Rui Li as she sat in a puddle of water with a stinging pain coming from her hand.
Rui Yewan who could clearly see in the dark walked over and helped her up but his vigilance remained heightened. “Are you okay,” he asked while kicking away the barrels near her.
“I am fine….. where did he go?” she asked as she picked up her sabre her expression cautious.
Rui Yewan placed his index finger on his lips and whispered, “Shh….,” before his eyes turned black and a dark fog left his body and spread down the corridor seeking the Qilin out.
Like a creeping vine soughting after a life source, it stuck to the walls on the prowl for its prey. Once the fog spotted its target it got out from the darkness striking the Qilin. In the eerie silent corridor, a loud whoosh sound accompanied by a blazing green flame spread through the lower deck corridors.
Rui Yewan quickly pushed Rui Li away and the two siblings dove to the ground with a loud bang. As they got up from the ground they heard a peal of sinister laughter echoing through the murky corridors followed by a deep mature voice saying, “Hehehe… you actually thought your puny little nightmares would have an effect on me? How pathetic.”
Guarding his sister behind him Rui Yewan replied, “No I didn’t, it was more like I wanted to find out something very important.” As he said this he vigilantly scanned the entire corridor for any sudden attacks as the Qilin’s position had shifted.
“I wonder what that could be?” replied Qilin Yanjing with his voice coming from another direction yet again.
Rui Yewan silently pointed in a certain direction and signed something that only Rui Li could understand.
