Voyage With The Pirate King - Chapter441
“You are so troublesome,” he whispered as he raised his body a little and kissed Ji Yao’s lips deeply. Ji Yao’s sweet scent intensified enveloping him. The sexual tension between them amplified but knowing Ji Yao well there was no way he was going to go that far.
An hour later Ji Yao was back to his old self with his hair neatly tied and his robe tidied to perfection. Satiated with both sustenance and sex he walked out of his cabin with Rui Fei trailing behind him.
Just as he stepped his foot on the main deck the crew that had been busying themselves turned to look at him a little curious as to how their captain was still able to stand after vanishing for an entire night.
They thought it but didn’t have the balls to actually walk up to Ji Yao and ask. It was the three musketeers who rushed over and the most excited amongst them was Tong Tong who immediately made a move to hug Ji Yao’s waist.
Before he could touch him Rui Fei blocked his path with the handle of his retractable double-bladed sword saying, “He might be your cousin but he is my wangfei so no touching without his permission.”
Tong Tong almost rolled his eyes at him. What was he afraid of? It’s not like he was going to seduce his cousin or something like that.
Rui Li pulled him back and said, “Tong Tong don’t you have someone you would rather hang out with right now? Look, he looks so sad,” while pointing at Xiao Yùnqì who was struggling to coil rope on the side of the ship.
Tong Tong wanted to curse at this sister who liked pairing every boy she sees with someone. Last night while he was sitting quietly near the figurehead of the ship she had pushed Xiao Yùnqì over after telling him that he (Tong Tong) was in need of a hug.
Because Xiao Yùnqì likes Rui Li a lot he had listened and walked over to hug the sad Tong Tong. Two seconds later she was squealing behind them like a crazy person. Thus her new CP known as YuTong was born.
Rui Yewan was also well aware of his sister’s unrestrained behaviour so when she said that just now he directly slapped her upside her head and said, “Stop being weird.”
Rui Li, “….”
“You are the one being weird, your entire family is weird,” she retorted while rubbing the back of her head. Instead of Rui Yewan retorting back he started laughing before saying,
“My point exactly.”
For a second Rui Li didn’t understand that is until she replayed her words in her mind. Because she was his family she had basically reaffirmed his words.
“Don’t act so smug,” she mumbled only for Ji Yao to say,
“Yep, weirdness indeed runs in the family,” while staring at Rui Fei with a slight smile.
Rui Fei, “…..”
He pointed at himself and uttered, “I am not weird,” only for his siblings to abruptly respond at the same time.
Rui Li, “Yes, yes you are.”
Rui Yewan, “You most definitely are.”
“What’s even the definition of weird…,” replied Rui Fei before he was cut off by Xunshi Zhe and Big Hei’s appearance.
Their faces seemed a little more serious than before as they greeted Ji Yao. Ji Yao’s expression turned sullen as he asked, “What is it?”
Xunshi Zhe glanced over all three Rui siblings before saying, “We got word that a war broke out and the concord is actively involved.”
“Should we sail back Captain?” interjected Big Hei. From what they gathered so far it seemed that the Madam foresaw this war and had directly sent Ji Yao in the wrong direction to keep him out of it. But how could Red Valkyrie sail away from conflict? As a new ship under Ji Yao’s command, her reputation would be damaged.
With his hand gently rubbing the hilt of his sword, Ji Yao silently looked at them for a second while lost in thought. He knew what his mother meant by doing this but the fact that three important chess pieces were on board Red Valkyrie furthest away from the circle of protection made him feel ill at ease.
These chess pieces were him, Rui Fei and Tong Tong. If his grandfather finds all three of them it would be easy to control the narrative of the war.
While he was thinking it threw he heard Rui Fei whisper, “Yao-ge, this isn’t our war?” while intertwining their fingers together.
He wasn’t a coward and would directly jump into battle if need be but he was also afraid of losing Ji Yao. Countless times he had watched Ji Yao get hurt and have near-death experiences twice. His heart couldn’t take that again.
He would rather run away with his lover to somewhere safe and live the rest of their days in each other’s company. But knowing Ji Yao he wouldn’t allow that.
Ji Yao’s gaze shifted from Xunshi Zhe and Big Hei to Rui Fei. With their faces close enough to feel the heat coming from each other’s skin he whispered back, “It might not be but my grandfather will make sure it will be. If he finds out that all three of us are here he will come to find us.”
As he said this his eyes glanced over at Tong Tong then back at Rui Fei. Rui Fei also looked at Tong Tong before staring back at Ji Yao. He immediately understood his meaning. In tacit understanding, the two of them looked at the crew like a decision had been made.
Ji Yao tightened his hold on Rui Fei’s hand and addressed the crew that at some point had gathered. “We are sailing back home immediately and everyone stay on high alert,” he said before turning to walk on the stairs that go up to the quarterdeck.
Hand in hand the pair walked up the stairs as the people around them began to run around preparing to break Red Valkyrie’s speed limit. Rui Fei pulled Ji Yao’s hand and drew him closer till their bodies touched.
Ji Yao who hadn’t expected this gasped a little while staring into Rui Fei’s eyes. Rui Fei tightened his fingers entwined with Ji Yao’s as his other hand touched his lover’s jaw with his thumb gently stroking the man’s skin. His eyes stung as he looked into Ji Yao’s eyes. It seemed like his emotions were threatening to spill over and he was about to cry.
“If you leave me again I won’t forgive you,” he whispered. The words ‘I won’t forgive you’ stabbed straight into Ji Yao’s heart but he understood that these words were coming from a place of hurt.
“Likewise,” said Ji Yao before standing on his tiptoes and planting a soft affectionate kiss on his lips soothing Rui Fei’s tremulous emotions. As their lips parted Rui Fei embraced Ji Yao with a tear flowing down the corner of his eye. The pain of losing Ji Yao had resurfaced terrifying the heck out of him.
