VRMMO Botanist - Chapter 45
That was a Landscaper’s Legendary item!
While Ye Chen was confident in his exposure and knowledge of the game, he had never seen such an overpowered and ridiculously useful secondary profession’s equipment! Within the game, having secondary profession equipment with one attribute would be sufficient to be categorized as a piece of premium equipment. Yet, this Divine Sprinkler of Blessings had many additional characteristics that were utterly astounding!
“Oh my God! This one sprinkler just made the immense risk worth it!” Ye Chen muttered in disbelief in an undertone as his eyes struggled to digest the information it saw.
Other than the Divine Sprinkler of Blessings, Ye Chen did not manage to loot any other items from Karma’s lifeless body. Decisively, he retreated at top speed.
The battle between Solia and Karma was vicious. With the blinding white light that was released, NPCs would be gathering within the area in no time. If his murder was unraveled, it would be the worst disaster ever for him.
Hastily, he reached the gates of Karma’s courtyard. Peeking out, he scanned the left side, then the right. Coast clear! RUN!
Not long after Ye Chen escaped, several adventurers and NPCs rushed over.
“I cannot let this sprinkler appear in front of any NPCs. In front of an NPC, items on hand and within the inventories are essentially the same.” As stealthy as he could, Ye Chen dashed as far from the city center as he could while pondering his counter plan.
Posthumously, Karma’s sprinkler had become a highly controversial item. Appearing with it in front of any NPC would be equivalent to pleading guilty to the murder.
“My only choice would be to send the sprinkler to the Outfield Mailbox and keep it there…”
The vaults were out of the question, and he would never bring a ticking time bomb along with him everywhere he went. He could only keep it at the unmanned Outfield Mailbox until he became a higher level Botanist and bought his own land. Only then can he openly use the sprinkler without the worry of being found out.
Alas, he could not send something to himself, he had to find someone to help him.
At that thought, Dharma surfaced in his mind.
“Boss, what’s the matter?” The sudden call surprised Dharma.
“Are you free? Help me out a little.”
“Of course, just let me know what to do.”
Ye Chen sent his coordinates to Dharma, and the latter came rushing over.
Asking for Dharma’s help was Ye Chen’s last resort. However, he did not have any other choices at the moment. This sprinkler must not stay any longer than necessary within his inventory. Moreover, he had some faith in his judgment.
“Boss, what’s the matter?” Before long, Dharma had arrived.
“Solia killed Karma, and I got this from her as a drop loot.” Without any thoughts of hiding, Ye Chen took out his dangerous loot for Dharma to see. At the same time, he recounted the incident. If he was looking for Dharma’s help, there was no way he could hide this fact. As for the worry that Dharma would betray him, Ye Chen was not worried.
“WAH! THIS IS A LEGENDARY ITEM! Boss, you have to keep this, this is super useful in the Landscaping Secondary Profession!” The instant Dharma saw the attributes, his eyes popped open like a goldfish.
Subtly, Ye Chen glanced at Dharma’ eyes. If there were any strand of greed, he would be able to spot it now without fail.
“Indeed, but I can’t bring this into the city, nor can I keep it in my inventory. I will bring you to an Outfield Mailbox, you mail it to me there.”
After Dharma got over the shock, Ye Chen briefed him of the plan.
“Understood! Let’s get going!” Seeing the unbelievably high attributes of the sprinkler, even Dharma got worried for Ye Chen.
The Outfield Mailboxes were designed to be useful for the adventurers on a long journey. Hence, even the closest Outfield Mailbox was close to a 20-minute trip away.
However, trouble arose just several minutes in. A group of adventurers halted in their tracks, and their expressions darkened when they saw Ye Chen and Dharma.
“Be careful, it’s the Warring Dragon Guild!”
On the adventurers in front of them, a distinct guild emblem could be seen. Instantly, Ye Chen recognized and could not help but to curse in his heart. What instant karma! If he was caught by them and killed now, his losses would be huge.
“Boss! They are moving really fast and are probably more than a few levels higher than us!” Titan Megacity was the base for many adventurers below Level 60. While Level 60 was not considered a high level, it was still too big trouble for adventurers at Ye Chen’s level.
From their movement speed, these Warring Dragon Guild members were at least Level 40!
At this rate, the two of them were going to be caught within seconds!
“Boss, you go first, I will hold them back!” Knowing that the possibilities of the two of them both getting away was slim, Dharma volunteered to stay behind. While dying in a game was no big deal, Ye Chen could not ford it now! He was holding something way too precious!
Hearing this, Ye Chen was shocked, followed by a warmth surrounding his heart. “Alright, I will wait for you by the mailbox!”
Dharma was only Level 20, dying would not bring about many losses. However, when Ye Chen first noticed the Warring Dragon Guild, he already had the intention of getting Dharma to slow them down. However, the latter had voiced out the same idea as him before he could!
Both options led to the same result. However, actions did voluntarily and on command had significant differences.
Lowering his head, Ye Chen sneaked into the forest by the road while Dharma ran away in the opposite direction. As he ran, he drew his bow, setting off a vast rain of Meteor Arrow Shower!
……..
Half an hour later, by the Outfield Mailbox in the Outskirts of Titan Megacity.
“Did you drop anything?”Ye Chen asked the approaching Dharma.
“Nope. If I had dropped loot again, I swear I will make a complaint to the GM!” Dharma shook his head and joked.
Today, he had already dropped a precious skill book. If the system caused him to lose another piece of equipment, there was a high chance that he would curse at the system every night before he slept!
“That’s good. Alright, let’s trade the items now. Holding this sprinkler is bad for my heart.”
Holding the traded sprinkler in his hand, Dharma sighed at the absurd attributes once more, and sent it to Ye Chen’s mailbox.
By the time the mailing was settled, the sun was already peeking through the horizons in the real world. “Im going offline now, possibly not coming online again today. Regardless of what you are doing, be it leveling or missions, you need to be careful. The Warring Dragon Guild’s powers are higher than you imagine. If need be, wait for me before you clash with them.” Before he left, Ye Chen cautioned Dharma again.
“Alright, I understand.” Dharma nodded.
“Also, this sprinkler. It’s solely between you and me. Don’t let anyone else know yet,” Ye Chen added in as he was about to leave.
If this news spread out, he would have more headaches to deal with than he needed.
“Boss, don’t worry. I get it.” Dharma confidently punched his chest.
Seeing that, Ye Chen finally went offline with a peace of mind.
…
The entire day was possibly the most eventful day for Titan Megacity in a long while.
Firstly, a Restricted Regional-Type Mission, then a rarely seen rampage of monsters. This led to the demise of a mysterious party of a few hundred men from the Warring Dragon Guild. Just when the city believed that the events were over, the astronomical Epic-Scale Meteorite Magic crashed into the Gray Stone Forest.
The storm passed after the colossal magic, bringing some peace and breathing space for the city. Adventurers had flocked to the Gray Stone Forest, attempting to make sense of the humongous crater formed from the impact of the Epic-Scale Meteorite Magic. When the image of the crater hit the forums, countless adventurers swarmed in, offering their two cents on the possible situations. Of course, the extravagant bounty that Warring Dragon Guild had placed on the few low-level adventurers did not escape the forum’s keyboard warriors.
However, another ruckus broke out. The NPC Karma was found dead in her courtyard. Several NPC guards rushed to her courtyard and attracted huge amounts of attention. Soon, the news set another blaze through the forums.
“What the heck is wrong with today? How did so much happen in one day? It’s been so long since it was so busy in the city.”
The forums were separated into cities and regions for ease of discussion. However, it was rare for the forums of lower-level cities like Titan Megacity to be bustling with so much commotion.
“You’re right. However, who in the world killed Karma? I’ve seen her fight before. Not only are her attacks vicious, but she is also a Priestess. Her healing is automatic. Unless you wipe her out in one hit, it is freaking difficult to kill her!”
“Which means another NPC killed her. No adventurer is strong enough to kill her in Titan.”
“Hehe, that’s where you are wrong. From the news gathered at her courtyard, the inspectors had found out that an adventurer killed it.”
“What the heck? Who is so pro?”
The forums were drowning in speculations, rumors, and gossip. Excitement and chatters overflowed with every reply sent in. Unbeknownst to them, all of the events were linked back to the same person, Ye Chen!
