VRMMO Botanist - Chapter 51
“Alright, then I shall be a Chef then.” Hearing the description, Dharma made his decision. Training to be an Architect had been an awful headache for him. Before asking Ye Chen, he had already decided to give up on becoming an Architect. Now, he was finding another Profession that was as simple as possible.
“Then, what should mages like myself choose?” Hearing the discussion, the Queen of the Night probed further.
“Mages should choose to be a Scribe. You can create useful scrolls to cause statuses and boost attacks. Especially since you are a Spatial-Type Mage. Once your Scribe skills are high level, you can even create large-scale transportation scrolls.” Without much thought, Ye Chen gave a reply.
While any Tom, Dick, and Harry could be a Scribe, specific scrolls were only available to corresponding Mage class adventurers. If other adventurers were to choose to attempt creating a transportation scroll, the success rate would be very minimal. However, the success rate of the Spatial-Type Mage Scribe was multiple folds ahead.
“Me? What about me?” Purple Olive immediately questioned. While she was the highest level amongst the party, she had been procrastinating on completing her secondary Profession apprentice task to date. To her, the secondary Profession hindered her progress as a Priestess. When she found information about it, she only knew it was crafting and did not probe further.
However, now that she decided to follow this party’s leveling, and to suck up to the Queen, she had to choose a secondary Profession. Otherwise, the Stamina points given daily would go to waste, delaying her progress to becoming a superstar.
“You got two choices. Either a Pharmacist or a Dancer. Training to be a Pharmacist requires large amounts of time and effort, so I recommend you to be a Dancer instead. Not only will you be dressed beautifully, but Dancer and Priestess are also complimenting Professions. You can equip the Priestess’s Equipment while dancing. I bet you will look gorgeous as a Dancer!” Hearing the question, Ye Chen sniggered and replied.
There were plenty of Pharmacists among the adventurers. However, actually famous and skilled Pharmacists were few. To emerge as a top-class Pharmacist, time and effort were indispensable to research the best way to produce the best potions with the lowest resistance. Most Pharmacists ended up being mediocre, only sufficient to create medicines that were similar to conventional store-bought drugs. Most likely, they would only be adequate to save money on buying potions.
Contrary, Dancers were different. It was a Profession limited to only female adventurers. They were required to gear up with specific Dancer costumes and replicate fixed choreographies. When done well, the Dancers could enhance their allies with beneficial statuses like MP and HP recovery. If they learned up the remaining Dancer Skills, they could even heighten defense, power, and other attributes. Moreover, the choreographies of Dancers could have effects both during and outside of battle!
In parties with Dancers, they would usually request for her to dance before a battle. This was especially useful as the status boost from a Dancer was long-lasting.
Alas, there were always prerequisites to obtaining benefits. The replication of the choreography must be as close to the system requirements as possible. The close it was, the better the enhancements.
Being a Dancer was simple. However, becoming a competent and professional Dancer was a grueling process. If the replication of the dance was too abysmal, there was a possibility that the dance would not have a single strand of effect. As such, there were not many adventurers who chose this route despite the high promises.
Since Purple Olive had the intention to be a star, dance should not be a difficulty. Even if she was not perfect at it, bringing out the primary effects should not be a problem. As such, Ye Chen was proactive in convincing her to choose this lesser-known Profession.
Still, some selfish willings were at play. After all, not many parties had the help of a Dancer. Most of the time, the boosts from the dances brought about huge conveniences. Not to mention, they could even serve as entertainment when the party was bored of killing monsters.
“Really?” Purple Olive’s eyes lit up brightly. What a miscalculation on her part! She never knew of such an enchanting sounding Profession. If these were true, she would not even need to consider other Professions!
“Really! Really!” Ye Chen vigorously nodded.
On the sidelines, Dharma was slightly freaked out. On Ye Chen’s face, his full PR wide was utterly uncomfortable, even sinister. “Yuck! That evil smirk!”
“Hmph! I will decide AFTER I check it out.” Still, Purple Olive was cautious. Her eyes narrowed and scrutinized Ye Chen’s deceptive smirk. Then, she crossed her arms and snorted.
“What? Little Olive, why can’t you trust me? I’m so heartbroken!” Sorrow flushed over Ye Chen’s face as he pouted miserably. Despite the superficial sadness, he was confident that Purple Olive would no doubt pick this Profession.
“Huh?! You think I don’t know how sly you are, Mr. Fox!” Purple Olive stared straight into Ye Chen’s eyes. “Trying to deceive me? You are still a century too early for this!”
“Oh damn! You realized! Little Olive, you are really an intelligent one! Most people would not even know!” Purple Olive may have exposed his dark plots, but Ye Chen was indifferent, laughing away without a care.
Facing the nonchalant scammer, Purple Olive could only roll her eyes till only her whites showed, hissing through her clenched jaws. “Tsk. Despicable!”
The shamelessness reeking from Ye Chen also left the Queen and Dharma speechless, shaking their heads as they watched.
Settling the questions that the party had regarding Secondary Professions, the four of them continued to fight the monsters. Within the next four hours, no one from the Warring Dragon Guild disturbed their peace again. Most likely, the withdrawal of the kill warrant and bounties were right.
“In the daytime, go and complete the professional apprentice missions first. Stamina is regenerated daily. One extra day’s worth of stamina makes a whole lot of difference. We are already far behind others on the skills of the Secondary Profession, we need to rush and catch up.”
“If the missions get boring, go to the arena and practice, grind and perfect your techniques. While the level is critical, the technique is still indispensable. Our levels would rise naturally as time passed, but the technique needed special care and attention. If we slacken on our practice, we would very quickly drop to be mediocre adventurers. When that happens, we would still be bullied by others despite our high levels. Before you go offline, send me your Forum IDs, I will collate some data and send it to you all. Read it if you are free.”
As the time to go offline approached, the four of them returned to Titan Megacity with the Town Return Scroll. Ye Chen gave some suggestions.
While they were battling the monsters, Ye Chen had been continuously watching their movements and mental awareness. Of them, the Queen was the most aware of her surroundings. Her movements were intentional and efficient, not many waste actions. Purple Olive was not bad too, but still paled in comparison with Queen. Lastly, Dharma moved without care, showing a glaring lack of practice.
“Dharma, you have to stick your head into this and work it hard. Otherwise, we would leave you behind in no time. If the Warring Dragon Guild were causing trouble for you in the future, you would suffer the same fate.” After some thought, Ye Chen threw in harsher encouragement for Dharma.
“Don’t worry, Boss. I will try my best to practice according to the information you gave me!”
With Ye Chen’s reminders, the depression from Warring Dragon Guild’s constant oppressions surged back within Dharma. He immediately pounded his chest, making a firm promise.
“Good, I’ll go to the forum and send you the information first.”
Three of them sent their forum ID to Ye Chen, and the latter went offline. After a little searching in the forum, he dug out some technical information and sent it over swiftly. Then, he went offline.
Not long after Ye Chen left, Dharma hurried to finish his apprenticeship as a chef. The Queen of the Night entered the Arena, and Purple Olive scoured through the forum for information on Dancers.
It did not take long for her to flip through the relevant data. Just glancing across the costumes available, and the elegant choreographies, her heart was set.
Before Ye Chen combined the data for her, Purple Olive had already hurried back into the game and found a Dancer NPC Instructor.
……..
“Erhem! My two pretty ladies, today, will be a house visiting day! If we are lucky, we can move to a better house! Then, you can go out to play!” After sending the compiled data to the three of them, Ye Chen went offline and ate breakfast with the two lolis, declaring his plans to them.
“Really? YIPPEE!” IInstantly, adrenaline and excitement burst within them like fireworks.
Ye Chen had always been a fast-acting and preemptive person. His heart was set on moving out, and he found his target. There was no reason to wait any further. If it was unsuitable, he could always find another option.
Setting a cap onto each of the girls, Ye Chen brought them out. Per the data on the advertisement, he brought them along onto the district’s bus.
After half an hour, Ye Chen’s eyes struggled to believe the sight in front of him. “Am I in the wrong place?”
This bus had brought him to a district full of villas. His head bobbed down to the address, then back at the villa. Again and again, he checked his eyes. This was really the place!
