VRMMO Botanist - Chapter 58
“Next, we will be heading to Aiur Town to level. The monsters in Aiur Town are between Level 28 to 33. Although we have to fight Level 28 monsters and suffer from a slight level suppression, the leapfrogging would garner us more experience, and it’ll definitely be worth the risk. Once we reach there, we won’t have to change the map, and we can level until we meet the requirements for the Ruins.” As the four people walked towards the teleportation array in Titan Megacity, Ye Chen introduced the small town of Aiur to the three greenhorns.
“There are only four people on our team. If we enter the Ruins, won’t we be lacking two people?” The Queen of the Night, who had always been a woman of little words, suddenly spoke.
Although it could be said that entering the Ruins did not require the team to be at full capacity, if there were two more people on the team, their damage output would definitely be better than if they only had four.
“Well, I’m thinking about this issue too. It’s best to enter the Ruins with a full team, but where can we find two trustworthy adventurers of similar strength? This is a question, though. Do you guys know of anyone that fits the criteria?” Ye Chen said, feeling a slight headache creeping up when thinking about the issue.
The four of them had gained a lot of benefits in the previous Restricted Regional-Type Mission. Finding ordinary adventurers just to make up the number did not make any sense. As for recruiting adventurers on the forum, they could indeed recruit skilled adventurers, but whether they could be trusted or not remained unknown. If a supreme item were to pop out, the recruited member might stab them in their backs. That would truly be a tragedy.
“If we’re talking about candidates, I do have someone in mind. His Profession is an Archer, however, so I’m not sure if it will work,” the Queen of the Night heard Ye Chen’s concerns and said quietly.
The fact that the Queen of the Night actually knew other adventurers surprised Ye Chen and others a little.
According to the nature of the Queen of the Night, all three of them thought that, other than them, the Queen of the Night might not know anyone else.
“Of course, there’s no issue. It doesn’t matter if his strength is lower than ours. The most important thing is that we can trust his character.”
“Well, I’ll contact him and see.” The Queen of the Night nodded in agreement.
“Boss, I have a candidate in mind too…” Just as the Queen of the Night finished her sentence, Dharma gingerly raised his hand.
…
“Haha, isn’t this the monk? Why did you call me over?” The four of them waited for about ten minutes outside the teleportation array before seeing a hearty and robust Warrior emerging from the teleportation array. After seeing Dharma, the Warrior walked over while letting out a burst of boisterous laughter.
“Stupid Cannon, call me a monk again, and I will bring you down with me!” Dharma glared at the newcomer angrily.
“Haha, your username is Dharmic Master Summum Bonum, and you still won’t admit to being a monk? Wasn’t it because you want someone to call you a monk, hence you chose such a weird name?” Cannon made a face of bewilderment.
“Boss, this bastard is called Cannon, one of my friends in real-life. His strength is just so-so.” Dharma capitulated and bitterly introduced Cannon to Ye Chen and the others while revealing a bitter expression on his face.
Ye Chen witnessed the interactions between the two and finally knew why Dharma was reluctant to call Cannon over.
“Fuck me! Dharma, you are so awesome, now I know why your level is so high. There are actually so beautiful teammates on your team! Why didn’t you introduce them to me earlier?!”
When Cannon received a message from this friend of his, he was shocked to find that Dharma, who had initially been one level lower than him, was now a level above him! Not only that, but the two beauties in the team were also really eye-catching!
When Dharma heard Cannon’s words, he immediately sunk into depression. Cannon was excellent in every way, just that he was a little too flippant. His rank had already been higher than that of Cannon a long time ago, but this guy had not discovered it until now.
“The Botanist is the captain of your team? Is he skilled?” Cannon glanced at Ye Chen, then asked in a private chat with Dharma.
“Who do you think you’re talking about? He’s MY Boss, so naturally, that shows how awesome he is! He can even kill you with one shot!” Dharma’s spirit was revitalized, and he proudly laughed.
“Kill me in one shot? Stop boasting! Even if you had been abused by me too many times, that doesn’t mean you have to recognize a boss casually and even use him to oppress me, little monk.” Cannon was obviously disbelieving of Dharma’s words. After all, how awesome could a Botanist be?
“Call me a monk again, and I will fight you to the end!” Dharma furiously shouted at Cannon.
“Alright, I won’t call you a monk anymore. By the way, monk, why did you ask me to come here? Hurry up and spill it, I still have something else to do.” Cannon nodded and carried on, totally forgetting the promise he just made. As for Dharma, he just felt like wilting in some corner, unable to even muster the energy to argue back.
“Obviously, I asked you to come here to share some benefits with you! We have a ticket for Aegda Ruin and are missing some members? Are you coming or not, hurry up and tell me if you don’t want to come!” However, Dharma quickly explained the intention behind calling Cannon over.
“An admission ticket to the Ruins? Only a fool wouldn’t go! I’ll talk to the other team and tell them to ignore me in the near future.” Cannon immediately rolled his eyes and threw shade at the IQ of Dharma. When Dharma saw him doing that, he regretted his decision. He really shouldn’t have called this guy over!
After a while, another Archer appeared.
The archer was contacted by the Queen of the Night. The name was Nameless Archer. According to the Queen of the Night, Nameless Archer had initially thought of a username called “Nameless.” Unfortunately, the game servers had been open for too long, and someone else had taken that name. Hence he could only add another word behind.
Afterward, everyone just referred to him as Nameless, which was what he preferred. This Nameless character was a bit reticent just like the Queen of the Night and seemed to be a lone wolf. He was Level 23, and he merely nodded when he saw the crowd, not saying anything else afterward.
“So that’s how things are. In the period leading up to the event, other than free activities in the morning, we will be leveling together and practice our tacit understanding at the same time. Do you have any questions?” Ye Chen concisely explained the plan to the two new teammates.
“I’m fine,” Cannon replied loudly.
“I’m okay with it as well.” Nameless nodded in agreement.
“Well, now let’s head for Aiur Town to level!”
…
As for Aiur Town, no one knew the town as well as Ye Chen. Ye Chen took the team to an unpopulated Level 28 monster refresh point and officially started to level!
When leveling, Ye Chen paid a little more attention to the two newly recruited members, and found that the strength of the two was indeed excellent!
Nameless had two more skills than the average adventurer, one of them was the Explosive Arrow. The attack power of Explosive Arrow was dominating and even came with a homing ability. After striking the target, there was even a chance to knock back the target, making it one of the best PK skills that could be used at lower levels!
Apart from Explosive Arrow, Nameless also knew Refraction Arrow!
Refraction Arrow was also an incredibly rare skill. To some extent, Refraction Arrow was also an AOE skill.
When using the Refraction Arrow skill, after hitting the first target, the Refraction Arrow will have a chance to refract from the target to nearby enemies. If the level of the skill was high, the probability and number of refractions would increase exponentially. Moreover, according to the skill level, each time it was refracted, the attack power of the Arrow will increase by a degree. If one was lucky, the Arrow would exhibit a terrifying power!
As for Cannon, although his level was not high, he had learned the skills of Charge, Quake, and Sweep. The Charge skill allowed the Warrior to traverse a distance of several meters in an instant. Quake could cause the enemies within the skill range to enter a dizzy state, while greatly reducing their attack and movement speed, and Sweep was a melee-type ranged skill. The synergistic combination of these three skills would demonstrate an incredible might in close combat, which would make up for the team’s lack of melee attackers.
Ye Chen was more than satisfied with the strength of the two new teammates. As for Nameless and Cannon, after observing Ye Chen for a while, both of them revealed visible shock in their eyes.
The two would never have thought that amongst the low-level adventurers, there would exist such a monstrous Botanist! Especially for Cannon, he could not help thinking back to Dharma’s words. Just the attack power of the Durian Bomb Tree alone was enough to absolutely decimate them. This was absolutely not a lie!
The team capacity was maxed out. Other than the Priest, everyone was capable of dishing out some serious damage. With this line-up, it was difficult for their leveling to not proceed rapidly, even if they didn’t want to!
Although the monsters were several levels higher than them, under the horrifying output of the six people, killing the monsters was as easy as chopping melons and vegetables.
With them maintaining the monstrous leveling speed, three days passed in a flash.
Over the past three days, Ye Chen and the others all acted separately in the morning. They either completed missions or messed around in the Arena. In the afternoon and evening, they would go on a frenzied leveling spree. After three days, the levels of several people skyrocketed to Level 27, and their rate of advancement was literally defying the heavens!
During these three days, the forum heated up due to rumors about the No. 7 Ruins. Many people were discussing how to get their hands on the tickets. Many people who were willing to spend a sky-high price to purchase the tickets were also present in the forums.
It was a pity that tradable tickets dropped by monsters only accounted for a small minority. Most adventurers who got their hands on such tickets were unwilling to sell them. If they sold the tickets at too high a price, no one would want them. After all, it was just an admission ticket. There was no guarantee of what one could get inside. If one was unlucky, one might even get wiped the moment one stepped in.
Amidst the fiery commotion caused by the Ruins’ appearance, three days passed, and the six members of Ye Chen’s team had all hit Level 30!
There were still four days before the Ruins opened. If the six put in a little more effort, hitting Level 33 would definitely not be a problem at all!
He finally reached Level 30! Ye Chen looked at the value that had just risen and felt a little emotional in his heart.
When he returned to Aiur Town later, he could, at last, inherit the Reputation and Achievement points of his previous character. He could once again take up the mission “Stone of Eternity” and immediately get the epic item “Stone of Eternity”!
Thinking of this, Ye Chen couldn’t help but feel a wave of fervent excitement sweeping through his heart! But it was still early, and Ye Chen was not in a hurry.
“Boss, I remember you haven’t chosen a Professional Mentor yet. Would you still receive experience now?” Dharma asked concernedly at this time.
“I can still accumulate experience, but I won’t be able to level up when it’s full. I’ll have to take some time during the day to complete some missions.” Ye Chen should have looked for that awesome Botanical master, but these days everyone had been leveling together, and time had been very tight. However, now it reached the point where doing so was necessary. Otherwise, he could no longer raise his level.
“Oh, all right then.” Dharma nodded, and the others continued to level.
“It really is you, Ye Chen! After disappearing for a few years, what did you come running back? Won’t it be better for everyone if you just vanished forever?” Just as it was about time for them to go offline, a sneering voice suddenly appeared from nearby.
“Who is it?!” Cannon immediately launched Sweep at the origin of the voice!
A giant MISS appeared, but a young Assassin adorned with dazzling equipment from head to toe quietly emerged from the air.
“Sk-Sky Ruinance Mythical Set!” Cannon glanced at the assassin’s body of dazzling equipment, and his pupils shrank, murmuring incoherently to himself.
Sky Ruinance Mythical Set, a Level 120 Mythical set, only obtainable from the Ancient Sky Ruins! Cannon had only caught a glimpse of its pictures on the forum, and it was said that no one on the forums had ever acquired the entire set. But right in front of his eyes, there was living evidence disproving that fact, and he was even clad in the entire Mythical set!
