Vyr’s Journey Through The Multiverse - Chapter 22
She ran towards her goal before stopping on a cliff overlooking a waterfall and a small river below her. This was where in the game you could fight an optional boss that was practically unbeatable if you didn’t have outside help from a certain blind giant.
As she was scrolling through the system and prepping for the “Fight” she decided she just wanted to go back already. As fun as it was to be in the dark souls universe. Vyr realized she was on edge constantly about how her journey would affect her relationships. She had just started dating ruby when she suddenly had to disappear. That could be a good thing or a horrible relationship breaking event. It was past time to head back.
As Artorias walked up and was about to confront his mischievous friend(?), yes friend, He stopped as Vyr tossed a stone over the edge and began laughing a mad cackle. After her laughter died a bit she waved her hand and a large metal thing appeared.
It was dark green and seemed to be made of several moveable parts. ‘ what new thing is this? Still how dare she trick me like that. I have done nothing to deserve this treatment!’ “Vyr why have you done this to me? I did nothing to earn your ire. Have i?”
Vyr turned to him confused and asked “Ire? If that means what i think it does. You didn’t do anything really, I just enjoy messing with you. Just take it as me showing you don’t have to be serious around me. When we first met you walked around like you had a stick up your ȧss. This is my way of changing that. Besides aren’t you having fun as well?”
Artorias stopped and thought for a moment and said “i guess you are right. I have been enjoying the time we have spent together. It has been a while since I didn’t have to play a role and could just be myself. Even still, please stop messing with me. I will try not to be so serious as well.”
“I won’t promise to stop but i will at least tone it down a bit. Now then stand back a bit. I need some room to maneuver this beast.”
Artorias did as he was told and made a bit of space before turning to see and approaching Ciaran. When she came to stand next to him Ciaran asked ” What new nonsense did she make now?”
Vyr turned with a clearly offended look on her face and said ” what do you mean nonsense? I have only brought simple things out so far. I mean this is the most advanced thing i have shown so far but that’s besides the point.”
*Sigh*”so you admit that this is a step above what you have already shown? What new thing is this anyway?”
Vyr smiles excitedly and says “this my small minded fellows is called an artillery cannon. You can think of it as a high class spell or a really advanced ballista. It is called the Fk 96!”
As Vyr loaded the canon and readied it for firing, she explained the different concepts and parts. Artorias watched with curiosity and asked “so it is some kind of weapon? It doesn’t seem very mobile. And this shell, you said it would be the “arrow” yet I don’t see a string.”
Vyr just sighed at him before saying “Just cover your ears and shut up will you? The target is approaching.”
Before Ciran had a chance to ask what the target was. A loud whooshing sound could be heard. Ciarans eyes dilated as a huge black mass flew up from the bottom of the cliff.
*Kalameet POV/*
I had just returned to my temporary nest after a long hunt. Because of the ever dwindling food supply I had to fly farther and farther to find sustenance. Today had been particularly difficult, I must have flown over two forests away before finding enough to last me another day.
I went back to my home to rest my wings. As I made myself comfortable in the cool water that spread across the ground of my home. I felt a sharp pain on my head.
I opened my eyes to see what had hit me, only to find a small stone.? You would think it was from one of the tall walls that surround my nest. But that would not be possible seeing as i laid down in the middle of the space so such an occurrence wouldn’t happen.
My suspicions were confirmed not long after as I heard the laughter of a human. I looked up to see the warrior I saw a few days ago laughing and pointing to me. It was clear it was the one who through the rock as it made clear eye contact before turning away.
‘How dare you?! What have I done to you? Fine since you want a fight you’ll have one!’
I stood up before taking off to catch the fiend. ‘What kind of person disturbs someone’s nap? thinking back i can remember a few dragons who raided human settlements at night. But I wasn’t one of them! So what the hell?!’
As I reached the top of the cliff I could see a group of beings. There was a knight, some human in a weird dress robe, a wolf(?), and the one who threw the stone at me. Their blue/red hair was on display as unlike last time they were now showing their face.
While the rest were frozen in shock, the one who threw the stone looked at me in the eyes. As we made contact I noticed the peculiarity of their gaze, on closer inspection it was obvious they were female. As i noticed more and more about the weird Girl, my attention kept returning to the stare she was giving me. (It didn’t help that her eyes held shapes and colors I had never seen before as well). It was not the usual shock or fear humans sent my way. Neither was it the curiosity or caution. It was a look I knew all too well. I myself carried that look from time to time.
It was a look of entertainment, yet it was filled with the knowledge that boredom would soon return. I knew this feeling as I myself felt it. As most of the dragons were gone or in hiding, I had little to do besides just continuing my existence.
I was confused as most beings could never live so long as to experience this feeling, much less a human who lived such short lives. I knew then that this was no human, no this was something different. But my confusion was short lived as the being shocked me.
As it stared into my eye it spoke. In a voice that made the air tremble and the world follow it asked ” Hi Tinvaak?”
I was surprised as, while I knew not what language held such power to make even the world itself move. I was even more surprised that I understood what it asked. The language felt even more familiar than mine own.
‘You speak? Does it mean, can i speak?’
I looked at the small yet mysterious creature and said ” if you mean can i speak then. Yes I can. Though I don’t know not what language you are using.” i say in the language used in these parts.
The being exhales, not out of relaxation from not being eaten, but from disappointment. It then slumps forward a bit before continuing “Ful Hi Nis Tinvaak Dovah Tinvaak? Daar Los Tiiraaz.” (So you cannot speak dragon language. that is saddening.) in the same language. Before I could respond it said in the language I used “My name is Vyr Bloodlotus and I have a deal for you.”
I looked at the creature closer and decided to land beside them. As I landed it turned the metal contraption next to it to face me. I asked ” If you explain more about that language you used I will hear your proposal. It is the first time I have heard a language so powerful.”
“That is fine. The language I used is called the Thu’um. It was how the ancient dragons spoke.”
“Can you prove this claim?”
“The fact you understood what I said without even knowing the language is probably the biggest tell.”
I thought over what she said. It ,while weird, made a lot of sense. I turned my thoughts back to her and asked “what is this proposal you spoke of?”
“I ȧssume you know the eventual fate of this world?” i nod to her question so she continues ” i do not come from this world. Now before you ask, I want you to hear me out. I have an area of land where I am building a haven for those I know. It is not a kingdom but it is a city and keep. I want you to guard the area from those who would do it harm. In return I will bring you away from this land.”
I thought over her proposal and said ” so you are a leader? While your proposal does sound good what do you get out of this? I mean besides a guardian. Also what makes you think i will accept this? Why could I not just force you to take me?”
She laughed a bit and said ” First i want to make it clear. You can’t do shit to me besides piss me off. Second, the reason I chose you and what I get are related. I decided to make the proposal to you because we are alike. We are both bored. I know that feeling of nothingness, I promise if you decide to follow me, while there will inevitably be downtimes you will always have something to entertain you, if you wish. I will also get more entertainment in return.”
I could feel the truth of her words but still my blood boiled when she told me I could do nothing to her. I lowered myself to her eye level and said “while your proposal does interest me. I can’t stand your first point. You say I can’t do anything to you. Then let’s make a deal. We fight, you win and I’ll take your proposal and even let you make another request, but if I win you take me and let me go free. No tethers or trying to restrict me.”

(I realized why my book was lacking emotion. The lack of thought and feeling each character shows as I keep falling back into the third person. So to fix it i am going to try doing more first person. That way you can see better how each character thinks. This will be new for me so it might take a bit to improve. If you see something weird or out of place please point it out so i can improve as we go on.)
I looked at the large dragon in front of me. ‘Damn that stupid pride they carry. Whatever if it dies it dies. I just wanna go home. Honestly if it does come with me it will just be more work.’ having sorted out my thoughts i say “alright but if you die just know i warned you. That wasn’t a challenge or anything by the way. I was just letting you know you asked for this.”
Kalameet laughed and said “fine. Though you should know it has been a long time since i have been hurt.”
I nod and just say “im starting” the dragon braces itself and says “then we shall begin”
As soon as I heard that I fired the Fk 96 I was behind. There was a loud bang followed by a louder boom. Right after that was the even louder wailing of an injured dragon and the cussing of a few surprised by standers. Sif had it the worst though, his enhanced hearing doing him no favors with how close he was to both the firing and target.
I am proud to say though the Armor piercing shell did its job, and did it well. The Shot had landed Between Kalameet’s left shoulder and ċhėst. It’s scales didn’t stop it at all, there was now a huge chunk of its body missing. Inside the bloody wound they could even see its bones which were checked and broken. Turns out a large cannon ment for tanks works well on dragons. Well at least the ones from dark souls.
I reloaded the canon before shouting to the dragon “do you concede defeat or should I fire another?”
Kalameet ġrȯȧnėd and said “No… Please …. Just no. I concede.”
(A/N i mean think about it. Swords, Arrows, firebombs, and throwing knives hurt them. Even kill them! I think an 77mm Armor piercing anti tank cannon shell would do a ton of damage.. Even if you argue about over penetration i think the dragon scales should still count for something.)
