Vyr’s Journey Through The Multiverse - Chapter 26

Vyr woke the next day to the loud sounds of shouting. Turns out it was a weekend today, which means classes were out. But this brought a host of new problems, namely a certain snow queen.

Weiss had apparently come back early this morning and ran her mouth off while passing by Yang. After everything that happened yesterday Yang wasn’t in the best of moods with Weiss. So it was kind of inevitable that she decked Weiss onto her ȧss after she insulted not one but both of her sisters.

Weiss of course then started shrieking and yelling “Do you know what you’ve done?!”

” I punched a prissy Bitch that should learn to keep her mouth shut about my family.” yang said almost spitting the words like they had a bad taste.

“Your family?! YOUR FAMILY!? I am the Shnee heiress, a noble!” Weiss yelled standing up as she placed her hand on her weapon.

Blake seeing where this was headed grabbed hers as well and went to placate Weiss even though she agreed with what Yang had done.

As Yang was about to reply to Weiss everyone heard an audible “Click” that cut through the room drawing everyone’s attention.

At the source of the sound was Vyr. She was still in bed, but she was sitting up. Her eyes held a tired, sleepy even, look. Yet it took on a whole new meaning as currently she was pointing her new Revolver at Weiss’s forehead. Everyone stopped when they realized the clicking noise they heard was actually the hammer being ċȯċked on the revolver.

Without lowering her gun Vyr said ” I have tried to sleep three times since yesterday. I have spent a week without sleeping in a bed, and now that I have one I can’t get a second of peace to use it.”

(Yang) “But she-” “Yang” “she said-” “yang” “about you and ruby-”

“YANG! i heard what she said.”

Yang looked surprised at this and asked “you did?”

“I heard everything.”

Blake seeing everything happening sat back down on her bed but didn’t let go of her sword. Yang seeing the tired look on Vyr��s face even after hearing what Weiss had said about her and ruby got pissed and yelled ” Then how can you sit there and do nothing?! I thought you cared about Ruby?! You should be helping me, not stopping me!.”

Vyr looked Yang in her eyes, losing the tired look she had and taking on a kind of seriousness that spoke on its own while said “The ONLY reason I’m not doing something is because of Ruby. I’m not a good person Yang, never have been never will be. The only reason I haven’t killed her yet is Ruby. How do you think Ruby would react to that?”

Blake cut in and said “She would cry her eyes out. She would probably never get over it.”

Vyr nodded and said “it would haunt her for life. Whether we like it or not Weiss is a teammate.”

Seeing Yang thinking about it, Vyr turned to Weiss who was standing in place. She had tried to escape while they were talking but when the barrel of the gun followed her even as Vyr was looking away. Wiess knew she shouldn’t try her luck.

Vyr looked to her and sighed before saying “God I need a drink. Wiess do you really think your in control of your life?”

Not expecting the change in mood or conversation Weiss responded without thinking “of course i am. I am the heiress of the schnee family.”

Hearing this Vyr uncocked her gun and laughed out loud at weiss. She looked at her and said “oh god you’re serious aren’t you? You seriously think you can take over the Schnee company?”

Wiess not seeing what she was referring to said “obviously. Who else would take over? My sister already handed down the position to me.”

Vyr looked at her with pity and said “hey blake.”

Not expecting to be brought into the conversation asked “yeah?”

“You know your history dont you?”

“I have the highest grade in the team.”

“Good, good. Let me ask you, in history who takes the crown after the leader steps down.”

“The next in line?”

“Correct. But let me add onto this question. Who takes the crown when the next in line is a girl and there is a younger brother?”

Weiss realizing where this was headed widened her eyes while Blake answered “typically the Male would be chosen.”

“Right again. How about when a known drinker and connoisseur of alcohol is killed by “alcohol poisoning” in one glass of wine?”

Blake raises her brows at this and says “suspicious.”

“Wow i was thinking the same. But get this, said person died of “alcohol poisoning” only a few months after giving birth to a male heir. The former heiress who would have taken control in a few years not long after the death. For some reason abandons all she was raised for and learned about to join the military. Therefore giving up the rights to the inheritance and the title of heiress goes to her young, unruly, and rebellious sister. While in the meantime the now ruler takes the male youngest and raises him to be the spitting image of themselves, while the heiress goes to school in a different kingdom. What do we call that?”

Blake widens her eyes as she puts the dots together and looks at Weiss with pity while saying ” a legal takeover by mariage.”

Weiss at this point looks like she has been hollowed out. Vyr sees this and tries to get her attention but quickly resorts to yelling to achieve this. When she does she can see Weiss flinch before turning to her with lighless eyes.

‘ damn. I know i was harsh but hell even i feel bad now. God, I just want to sleep. At least I stopped Ruby from waking up.’

*Sigh* “Look let’s be clear, i don’t like you. Not that i tried in the first place but still, i can’t just let you break down. So let’s get this clear, your family. Sorry no your father, is complete shit. Not only that but he is running the Schnee company into the ground. I know you’re proud of where you come from. But in one generation he has single handedly destroyed pretty much everything your family stood for. It’s not easy to hear but right now the only Schnee anyone would sanely trust is your sister Winter. That’s still pushing it but that’s for some other time. Look one way or the other, you need to take some time and think things through, cause lets face it. Soon your father is going to replace you with your little brother. It’s not up to you. It’s too late to fight it and i wouldn’t even try if i were you. You need to take the time to see who YOU are, schnee or otherwise. Once you find that then come back here, i won’t promise anything but you can count on us. We are a team, you just haven’t realized it yet. *sigh* i’m not one for sappy speeches and all that, but I know you can be better than who you are now. Not because of your family. Or your talent, even though you have a ton of it. But because of who you are. One way or another Weiss, it’s you who decides your fate, your destiny. Just make sure you remember you’re not alone unless you force yourself to be.”

There wasn’t much, barley any at all, but a small bit of light came back into Weiss’s eyes. She nodded at Vyr and kind of shuffled outside before stopping in the door and asking “did you mean it? About the team?”

Vyr nodded to her and said “Whether you agree or not we are a team. The only one who thought otherwise was you. Ozpin didn’t put you here to spite you or punish you. He put you here because that’s where he felt you could grow stronger and flourish.”

Weiss nodded and left. Yang who did not expect anything like that to happen this early in the morning tried to change the mood by laughing and saying “i’m surprised Ruby didn’t wake up.”

Blake made a sound of agreement but Vyr just waved the two off by laying down and saying “that’s because i used my magic to block sound around her. Now fuċk off, i wanna sleep.”

A few hours after they left and Vyr returned to sleep, Vyr’s scroll went off. As she was a fan of rock and metal naturally her ringtone showed as much. So when it went off it made sure everyone around could hear it.

Vyr ġrȯȧnėd as she hugged Ruby tighter trying to ignore the sounds of Feed the machine. As she was still half asleep she had forgotten that ruby could hear as well. It was only natural for her to awaken as well.

When she did she quickly sat up dislodgeing herself from Vyr’s grasp.She looked around with sleepy eyes before grabbing Vyr’s scroll and answering the call.

(ruby) *sleepily*”hello?”

(Ozpin)”Hello, I apologize if i have awakened you, but we need you to come and explain a few things. Mainly the giant egg that has appeared in amber’s room.”

“Egg? Is this a prank? Listen i don’t know who you are but i dont think this is very funny.”

Ozpin quickly realized what he had missed earlier and replied “I am sorry miss Rose. I had mistaken you. I had meant to call Vyr, is this not her phone?”

Ozpin heard a yelp of surprise before Ruby saying “I am so sorry just give me a sec and ill get Vyr.” He gave a hum of approval while taking a sip of his hot chocolate. Over the phone he could hear Ruby saying “Vyr wake up you have a call.”

(Vyr)”who is it?”

“The headmaster Ozpin!”

“What? It’s just Oz? Just tell him i’m not here.”

This caused a few tick marks to appear on Ozpin’s face but before he could say anything Ruby said “It’s too late. I already let him know you were here.”

This was followed by a tired sigh and some shuffling as Vyr said “did he at least say what he wants?”

“Yeah he said something about an egg?”

“Egg? Do you mean Breakfast?”

Vyr then took over the phone and asked “what’s this about an egg?”

(Ozpin)*sigh* ” That is what i would like to ask you. Amber found a huge Egg in her room last night. She has no recollection of how it got there. So I called to ask you.”

“I don’t think I know any egg? … Wait! What does it look like?! Does it glow?!”

“Yes with a weird gold color. It is also producing a lot of heat.”

Ozpin could hear noises of excitement and Vyr telling ruby to hurry and get dressed before she asked him “is it damaged in any way?”

“Not that I could tell. Is it important?”

“Very important. It’s a friend!”

“You are friends with an egg?”

“Not the egg you idiot. I’m friends with who’s inside the egg. Me and Ruby will be there soon.”

Ozpin was about to respond when he heard Vyr say “ruby get dressed. We are heading to Ozpin’s sėx dungeon.” before the call closed.

A little while later Ozpin and Amber were talking in front of the egg as Vyr and Ruby walked in. The egg was taking up a large amount of the room. It was black with a golden glow. When she saw it Vyr ran up to it and started knocking on it.

(Amber)”Oz said you knew what this was right?”

“Yeah this is a friend i made while i was away.”

(Ruby)”Why are they an egg?”

“Reasons. I would tell you but it would be better as a surprise. Now then Ozpin can you magic up some robes?”

“Can you not do that yourself?”

“Oooooh yeeaah. Guess i’m still half asleep.” Vyr said in realization before making some robes appear.

(Ruby)”so are they gonna come out soon?”

(amber)”I hope so this thing is huge. It takes up like half the room.”

(Vyr)”I think they should be done soon? I mean I don’t know how long it normally takes for someone to hatch from a big ȧss egg.”

Ozpin and Amber start discussing something. I didn’t pay attention as I was wondering if I could speed up the hatching process. As I was about to move Ash said something that caught my attention.

(Ash)”can’t we just break it open?”

“Wouldnt that fuċk up the process?”

“meh ? I mean we did dump kal off with Demeter so it should be fine.”

“Kal?”

“Kal.”

“Kal.”

“So like i said just break it open.”

“Let’s call demeter first.”

“Urgh fine i’ll call her but then i’m going to sleep.”

“I thought you were working on our abyss powers.”

“I was but for now I want to sleep. You’re not the only one that’s tired, talking with demeter took a lot out of me. Too much worrying if she was gonna delete us.”

“Well lets hope yours is better than mine.”

*yawn*”yeeep~ yep yep.” Ash said lazily as she stopped talking.

(Demeter)”hello? You wanted to ask me something my child?”

“Hey demeter. Kal just got here and I wanted to know if it was ok to just open his shell.”

“Kal? Do you mean the black dragon you brought with you?”

“Yeah his name is Kalameet but that’s way too long so Ash started calling him Kal and i decided to as well.”

“Hmm i see. Well as for your question i would say it’s fine. I kept him here for a bit so he should be ready to hatch. It wouldn’t matter if you broke the shell before him.”

“Really I read once that dragon shells hold special magic or something and only the dragon in the egg should break it.”

“Some do that, yes. But not the ones from the Dark Souls world. There is even a weapon in the second “Game” that is made of a dragon egg.”

“Your right! I really need to wake up for today. Alright thanks Demeter”

“Anytime and i told you to call me mother.”

“No you told Ash.”

“You two are one and the same.”

“Yet we are separate as well. Now then i’m gonna break an egg. Bye~”

Ozpin and amber were still talking when Vyr backed up next to Ruby. Ruby saw Vyr get into a sprinter’s running position and asked “what are you doing?”

“Hatching the egg” Vyr said simply before taking off at top speed toward the egg. As everyone watched Vyr jumped up into the air before punching the egg as hard as she could.

A loud sounding *thud* and a spider web of cracks were the result of the unprovoked ȧssault. As Vyr landed on the floor the egg started emitting a loud thumping sound. Over and over as everyone gathered around the egg, the shell seemed to pop out at them in an almost rhythmic pattern.

As everyone watched an arm came breaking out from the inside of the egg. Quickly a large hole was broken by the man who emerged from within the egg.

He was 6 ft 6, had long black hair. His eyes were predictably the same as a dragon’s, But his eyes had changed from the red of his dragon form. Now they were now a strong gold that seemed to have metallic flakes within producing a certain sparkle drawing the eye. He didn’t have his iconic red Jewel “eye” either. His body wasn’t as muscled as Vyr would have expected. If she didn’t know better she would have ȧssumed he had never fought a real battle a day in his life. But that is not to say he was flabby or frail, no his body seemed to almost be without fat showing off his abs and ċhėst muscles. Weirdly enough Vyr could find him easily falling into an asian model category in her mind. He also seemed to be weirdly familiar, all things considered. That was until he fully came out of the egg, then she remembered where she had seen his face before. He was the spitting image of Byakuya Kuchiki from bleach!

After he took a few unsteady steps from the egg Kal drew himself to his full height before faceplanting onto the floor gasping for air.

(Kal)*huff**huff*” I admit. I doubted you. I thought you had tricked me into a slow death. I am glad to say I was wrong. At least so far.”

“That’s great and all, but before we continue talking, put this on. I don’t appreciate you flashing my girlfriend.” Vyr says, tossing the robe over Kal covering his body.

“Ah yes. You humans love your “clothing”.”

“Say that after you look in the mirror.”

This earned her some confused looks as Kalameet got up from the ground and inspected his new body while clothing himself.

(Amber)”is there something i’m missing here?”

(Vyr)”oh yeah let me introduce everyone. This man is Kalameet, one of the friends I made while away. Kal this is Amber, a magic nature spirit essentially. Ozpin, the immortal wizard and master swordsman. Finally and most importantly, Ruby my Girlfriend.”

Ruby, like most of the time since Kalameet came out from the egg, was covering her face with her hands while having steam come from her head in embarrassment.

(Amber)”Nature spirit?”

“I mean you are, more or less. Besides I almost called Oz a wizard lizard, but that would have been offensive.”

(Ozpin)”then i thank you.”

“Not you wizard lizard. I would have offended Kal.”

(Kal)”is that what you are calling me now?”

“Yeah more or less. Your name is a mouthful. Why do you mind?”

“No, it has been many years since I conversed this much. I am simply not used to it.”

(amber)”again I’m feeling left out. Did you not live around a town or something? How did you deal with Grimm?”

(Kal)”No, I lived by myself for many years. And what are these Grimm.

(Vyr)”Oh shit! Yeah. I forgot you don’t know everything yet amber. Get Oz to fill you in later. Ok? For now Just ȧssume Kal lived on an island without Grim.”

“Ok?”

“Right then onto the big reveal” Vyr said in excitement while pulling Ruby over to Kalameet. But instead of continuing she smiled a wry smile and said “On second thought, Kal lets keep your other form a secret for now. Instead give me your arm, remember that tattoo i was talking about. Lets go ahead and do that.”

Kalameet seemed confused but gave her his arm while thinking ‘Ah she must be protecting me. I remember hearing some groups of humans slay dragons. She must think one of them will want to kill me. But which one? It can’t be this Ruby girl. Vyr said they were mates, i guess her species can reproduce with females of another species then, a thought for later. This amber woman was akin to a nature spirit so it’s most likely not her. That only leaves the man with a cup. Oz i think it was, It fits, she said he was an immortal warrior, who would be more fitting to try and slay dragons? I must watch what I say around him then. *chuckle* we bȧrėly even know each other yet she is already protecting me. This was a very good deal I must say. I have already gained so much! I must repay this kindness to her.’

Vyr took Kal’s arm and began the process unknowing that his opinion of her was rising by the second. She started the process much to the shock of the others. They watched as the black dot was formed before disappearing under the robe kal was wearing.

(Ruby)”what was that ?!”

Vyr smiled and said ” A new magic I got. I’ll explain it later, for now Oz I need to ask you for some things.”

(Ozpin)”hrmmm. And what would those things be?”

“I would like you to prepare a place for Kal to stay, for one. It would be best if he had someone to teach him about things. I was thinking Tai, but you might think someone else would be better.”

(ruby)”you want him to stay with dad?”

“Your dad’s a good guy Ruby. Plus he is very understanding to boot. If anyone could help, it’s your family.”

Ruby seemed happy at the complement and hugged Vyr saying “aww! Thank you! ”

(Oz)”I agree. I can think of few better than Taiyang for this. Do you want me to call him or do you want to? And what was your other request?”

“Nah if you can’t think of someone better then i’ll call him myself. But I do need your permission to skip class.”

This made Ozpin frown deeply but before he could scold Vyr she said “not all classes just some of the less necessary ones. I just need some time to work on a “special” project. You could say “divine” project.”

Ozpin quickly caught on and said “i see. That can be arranged, do you require anything else?”

“Last thing I swear. I need a place to work on some equipment. You know a forge and some hammers, grinders, chisels that sort of thing.”

(Oz)”I can give you access to one of the personal workshops.”

“Thanks Oz!”

“Your welcome, now then I think it is time for us to get to work. Amber if you will come with me, i will fill you in on the things you are missing.”

Ozpin and Amber entered his personal elevator headed to his office or something. While Vyr looked to Ruby and asked “wanna head to the Patch with me and Kal?”

“Yes!”

(Kal)”the Patch?”

(Ruby)”it’s what we call my house.. Now come on lets see if Yang wants to come too.”
