We are destined.Let me pamper you - Chapter 503
After lunch, Liu Shuang sent Feng Jianyu and Xiu Mei to their room to take some rest.
“Oww…. Mummmaa….” The moment the door was closed, and she was alone with Feng Jianyu, Xiu Mei clutched her stomach and sat down on the floor. “How can they force me to eat that much?”
“You should come here often; at least you’ll be able to put on some flesh on your bones.” Saying he picked her up from the floor.
She was about to retort, but then suddenly her stomach churned and her throat contract as if something was surging up her throat. She covered her mouth, squirmed in Feng Jianyu’s arms to get down and sprinted into the bathroom.
Feng Jianyu followed her but as he entered the bathroom, he saw Xiu Mei sank to her knees, leaning over the toilet, making retching sounds as the chunks of partially digested food spewed out of her coughing.
“Mei,” He crouched down beside her, patting her back, holding her falling hair at the back of her head. He saw her heaving again and once more the creamy chyme from her stomach propelled from her mouth.
Her face was ghastly pale! Her eyes a watery mess! With some of the vomit still trailing from her lips, viscous and opaque, she turned her head to Jianyu still breathing heavily and said one word. “Water.”
“I’ll be right back.” He hurried back to the room and came with a glass of water. By the time Xiu Mei has moved away from the toilet seat and was now standing facing the washbasin. “Here…” She rinsed her mouth and took two sips.
Jianyu made her lie on the bed, “I’ll call Zian.” Before he could take another step, she held his hand.
“No… This is shameful. I’m in this condition because of overeating, everyone will laugh at me.”
“Silly, think of your health first.” He scolded her yet touched her pale cheek gently.
“Then you do it. Haven’t you learned Chinese medicine from your grandmother?” She said, making a puppy face that he can never resist.
He pinched the space between his brows and sighed, “Let me check your pulse then.” She instantly forwards her wrist.
A minute passed!
Feng Jianyu: “Show me your other wrist.”
Another minute passed!
Seeing her husband’s serious expression Xiu Mei gulped. What is it?
“J-Jianyu…..”
“Shhh… quiet.”
Feng Jianyu fished out his phone and checked something.
He frowned, and stared at his wife’s face for a minute, deep in thought. Subconscious he glanced down at her stomach.
“Mei, let’s go to the hospital first.”
“Hold on! Hold on!” He was about to pick her when she placed her hand on his chest. “Isn’t it just gastroenteritis? Instead of going to the hospital why not give me any herbal medicine? I’m sure after a night’s rest I’ll be fine.”
“No… we should get it checked. Try to understand, I’m a poor man, dependent on you. For my sake, let’s get it checked. What if it’s something serious, that might take months to heal?”
Xiu Mei “…”‘Poor man, my ass.’
“Jianyu…. Just think, if you’ll take me out like this, the entire family will be worried unnecessarily. I don’t want to make them feel guilty because they feed me out of love.” She tried to reason, but Jianyu refused to budge from his position. “Ok, how about we let the night pass and go to the hospital tomorrow in the name of shopping?”
Feng Jianyu wanted to clear his doubt the very moment, but because of her previous miscarriage, he has to take the doctor into confidence first. He cannot afford to let the news of her miscarriage be disclosed to Xiu Mei. And it becomes more important if his diagnosis was correct.
“Fine! But the first thing we’ll do tomorrow is to see a doctor.”
“Okay.”
He lifted the blanket and envelops her in his embrace, tightly hugging her. He had never been wrong in his diagnosis, but before breaking the good news he wanted the doctor’s confirmation.

The next day, instead of feeling fresh Xiu Mei woke up feeling tired, all thanks to the man sleeping next to her. No, No, don’t take it wrong! He didn’t make love but throughout the night he was restless and kept turning sides.
Poor Xiu Mei who was used to sleeping in his arms has to suffer a lot because of this.
“Good morning, my love. Did you sleep well?”
Her eyes fluttered, her mouth twitched as she gave an irritating look to Jianyu who was showing his thousand-watt smile. “Let me sleep for a while, you horrible monster.” She turned to the side, buried herself in the blanket but he mercilessly pulled the blanket off.
“Time to go to the hospital.”
“Argh… it’s so early, we’ll go in the noon. I’m sleepy.”
“Why’re you so cranky? And you’re sleeping abnormally more? Last night you woke up thrice to use the washroom. And…..”
“Shut upppp…..” She covered her ear with the pillow. “I’m cranky because of you. I’m sleeping more because I’m relaxed. And why on earth are you counting how many times I peed? Stop being creepy! I can’t keep all that pee in my stomach after all!”
“You mean to say bladder.”
“Go to hell!”
Feng Jianyu was happy, though she tried to justify, all these are signs of pregnancy. He did not care she was irritated right now. He will gladly accommodate her temper for the happiness she is about to give.
Realizing who rude she was just now, Xiu Mei turned to face him with tears glistened in her eyes. She jutted her lips out and hold her ears. “I’m sorry, I should have not yelled at you like this. It was my suggestion to go to the hospital in the morning and now I’m the one going back on my promise.”
Feng Jianyu hugged her, coaxing her by caressing her back. “It’s alright, love. I’ll freshen up first, in the meantime, you take a nap. If you’re not comfortable, we’ll go later.” Maybe he was overthinking, but this was another sign of pregnancy. Women are emotional in that state!
Xiu Mei sniffed. “I’m feeling better now, is it necessary to go?”
“Yes, for my peace of mind. Please….”
“Okay… Let go after breakfast.”
He pinched her cute baby cheeks as she yawned and turn to hug him and take a short nap. “But I’m telling you, it’s just gastroenteritis and nothing else.” She mumbled.
Jianyu smiled, ‘But, I’m 99% sure you’re at the early stage of pregnancy. Around five or six weeks pregnant. Just for that remaining 1% I’m taking you to the doctor.’
