Wedding Agreement With CEO - Chapter 195
“Then what is this? You still dare to dodge after I know everything, huh?” said Lucas as he held up Ellena’s bag in the air.
Richard was getting more and more confused, not knowing what answer to give Lucas. It was clear that he really regretted Ellena’s attitude for leaving without the bag. It was certain what his fate would be after this incident.
Wanting to dodge, obviously that’s impossible. However, even telling the truth was certainly very hard for him. That meant he would soon lose Ellena, though he didn’t know where she had gone either.
Richard was sure that Lucas would not remain silent, knowing that he had lied. It was possible that the man would also dare to kill him, if he didn’t manage to find Ellena.
‘Unlucky! Why did Ellena leave without her bag? I don’t know how to explain it to Lucas, while the evidence is right in front of me.’ Richard grumbled to himself.
“Tell me where my wife is!” Lucas grabbed the collar of the suit that was attached to Richard’s body, when he didn’t get the slightest answer from the man about Ellena’s whereabouts.
From the start Lucas was sure that Richard had been trying to lie to him. That’s why he didn’t trust his business client at all.
Stupid. He should have inspected all the rooms in the office from the start, without having to argue with Richard first. Maybe he wouldn’t have lost track of Ellena, if he had moved faster.
Lucas pulled the collar of the shirt so that it made the nape of Richard’s neck hurt because his strength was strong enough.
“I really don’t know where she is now,” replied Richard, who didn’t know where Ellena had gone. He seemed to be shaking his head repeatedly, trying to reassure Lucas.
“You still dare to lie to me?” Lucas asked still in disbelief.
“I really don’t know where she went. Let me go! You can’t treat me like this!” Richard began to rebel, clearly not accepting the treatment of Lucas, who seemed to have dropped his pride in front of all the employees who were witnessing the action firsthand.
“You think I’ll believe it?” Lucas snapped, unable to tolerate Richard’s lies anymore.
“It’s up to you to believe it or not, I’m definitely not lying!” Richard insisted, still denying Lucas’ accusations, even though he could have told him where Ellena lived in the city. Maybe Elena did go home.
“Lucas, let him go.” Adley asked flatly, grabbing Lucas’ hand to let Richard go.
Lucas turned his head and gave him a sinister look.
“Why do you keep defending him. Can’t you see what he’s done to us, huh?” Lucas said so loudly that his voice was deafening. He still didn’t understand Adley’s attitude as if he continued to defend Richard and wanted to free the man just like that.
“It’s not like that. If we stay here all the time, when are we going to find Ellena?” Adley replied which managed to make Lucas instantly stunned, as if heeding his words.
“Let him go and let me talk to him!” Adley insists he wants to take over.
In the midst of such a precarious atmosphere, Adley was still able to remain calm. At least he could mediate between Lucas and Richard.
“I’m not sure he’ll help with this.” Lucas replied, still holding onto Richard’s collar and not intending to let go.
“Let me do the talking. Arguing like this will only make things worse. We can do anything if Mr. Richard really doesn’t work well together!” Adley spoke with great emphasis. He glanced briefly at Richard, as if he wanted to make a threat on purpose.
Finally, after repeated Adley persuasion, Lucas was willing to take his hand off Richard’s collar.
Adley immediately positioned himself facing Richard, staring at the man seriously and threateningly. Even though he was repeatedly accused of defending Richard, in fact he still sided with his best friend. Who was Richard that he had to defend him?
Adley himself clearly did not justify Richard’s attitude which clearly lied to Lucas. From the beginning she had great respect for the man, now it was quite the opposite. It’s not that he doesn’t have the guts to beat the guy up, it’s just that he doesn’t want to get his hands dirty.
After all, right now he was still hoping that Richard would be willing to cooperate to find out where Ellena was. However, if Richard was not willing, then his history was over.
“Mr Richard, can we talk this over?” asked Adley with the same look. His tone was flat, but his gaze did hold some emphasis.
“I hope you can work well together on this,” Adley added hopefully.
However, it seemed the eagle’s gaze still didn’t affect Richard. This was evident from the way Richard responded to Adley’s question only with a bitter grin appearing on his face.
“What else do you want to talk about? Your question is still the same as he asked?” Richard asked, pointing right at Lucas’ face, Lucas immediately pushed his hand away with one smack, as if he didn’t accept it. However, Richard didn’t care.
“My answer is still the same. I don’t know where Patricia is now!” Richard said again, raising his voice.
Lucas just looked away in frustration at the answer with both hands that looked like they were on their hips.
Adley smiled bitterly. Of course he didn’t believe it right away and there was something interesting he could read from Richard’s expression. Worries. Yes, the worried look on Richard’s face made him sure that he was really worried about Ellena.
Just like what happened a few days ago at the restaurant. How Richard was so worried about Ellena at that time. He became convinced that Richard did have other feelings for Ellena and did not want to lose her. Maybe that’s why he lied to Lucas.
“Okay, if you still insist, I won’t force you, but you should at least answer two more questions from me!’ replied Adley still trying to contain his anger.
In response to Adley’s statement, Richard just sighed in frustration as he wore a cynical expression and laughed a little bitterly, as if disparaging.
“First question, why did you lie to us when you clearly knew that Ellena was in this office?” asked Adley in a loud voice, suddenly managing to make Richard look away for a moment, showing an expression of displeasure with the question.
“Why are you silent?” Adley asked again when Richard didn’t respond.
“Oh, I know. Are you obsessed with Ellena?” Adley paused his questioning for a moment. “Don’t dream! You can’t possibly get it!” strictly disparaging.
Lucas, who was about to reply, suddenly stopped when Adley stopped him by signaling him to remain silent.
It seemed that Adley was still not satisfied with attacking people who had played with his best friend’s feelings. Yes, how could he just be silent, when Richard treated Lucas like that.
“You don’t deserve to accuse me like that, Adley!” Richard denied Adley’s accusations. “Patricia asked me to hide all this from you guys!”
“You are lying!” Lucas shouted at Richard. “There’s no way Ellena would want to avoid me!”
“You don’t believe it? But it’s the truth!” Richard insisted, still trying to defend his argument.
The atmosphere is getting hotter. They were lost in each other’s anger, even seemed to not care about the cooperation that had been designed in such a way. Canceling the partnership seemed like it would be much better.
Adley tried to restrain Lucas who was about to throw a punch at Richard. He was still trying not to attack with his own hands, even though his anger was mounting.
“Okay. Let’s just say I believe that. But remember there’s one more question for you to answer!” Adley shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants, without changing his facial expression and tone of voice.
“Say what you want to ask, then get out of here!” Richard replied warningly.
“You may not know where Ellena went, but I’m sure you know where she lives. Can you give us the address?”
Adley’s question again made Richard nervous and disoriented. How could he give Ellena’s home address. It was tantamount to him supporting Ellena back at Lucas, while he didn’t want that to happen.
Richard smiled again bitterly, not wanting to show his nervous expression.
“I do not know!” Richard answered firmly.
“You still want to lie to me?” said Lucas, who had been unable to stand Richard’s attitude, who kept lying to him.
“I’m not lying! I really don’t know!” For the umpteenth time Richard denied the accusations of Lucas and Adley, even though it had previously been proven that he was guilty.
“Okay. Alex, Robert, David, please search this place and find Ellena’s files. I’m sure he still has employee records in this office. Search until you find it! If it’s not in this room, look elsewhere!” Adley said, who couldn’t tolerate Richard’s attitude anymore.
“Yes, Sir!” replied Alex, Robert and David in unison.
“Don’t ever dare to move an inch, if your lives are to be saved!” Lucas shouted a warning as he looked around at all the employees and security in the room.
“Wait!”
Just as the three men were about to make their move, Richrad suddenly shouted and held him back from doing so. Instantly all eyes were on Richard, including Lucas and Adley.
“You don’t have to do that. I’ll tell you Ellena’s home address!” said Richard, clearly feeling threatened.
A happy grin appeared on Adley’s face. Finally, the plan worked. He was sure that Richard would not be willing to have his privacy searched in a disrespectful manner.
“You made the right choice, Richard. If you had done that earlier, maybe we wouldn’t have to argue like this,” Adley said with a disdainful smile.
“You’re such an asshole. How dare you make a fool of us. You think we’re going to stay quiet?” Lucas said, almost causing Richard to shrink in an instant.
“Tell me where Ellena’s house is!”
