Wang GuiYing didn’t look to be too bothered by it as he threw his phone down and showed everyone the chess piece that he got.

Next was Zhou Xinyi who didn’t even need to throw his phone down as Wang GuiYing already knocked it out of his hand.

Zhou Xinyi sighed as he crouched down and picked up the two phones before straightening his back and giving Wang GuiYing’s phone back to the man.

Zhihao nodded as he turned to look at Jiangshi, “It’s your turn.”

At first, the boy looked to agree as he got ready to throw his phone but all of a sudden he stopped as if he had realized something.

He gulped in worry and hid his phone behind his back.

Zhihao frowned and his eyes seemed to contract as he looked at this action, “What are you trying to do?”

Jiangshi panicked a little as he shook his head and refused to give an explanation for his refusal.

Li Ying also looked to be a bit confused at the beginning but when she glanced at the phone that Jiangshi was trying to hide from everyone, she suddenly understood what he was worried about, and as his knight in shining armor, she stood in front of him and defended him, “Let him be the last one.”

Zhihao’s frown deepened as he heard this but he still agreed as he turned to face the next person that happened to be another girl Zhihao was unfamiliar with.

“Wait… Are you andyzz?” Zhihao questioned as he looked at the girl.

The girl gulped as she shook her head and responded, “Kaze17. Don’t you remember me, Mastermo?”

Zhihao’s eyes widened slightly as he heard the girl.

He indeed remembered her and because he did, he was even more shocked and confused.

“Weren’t you a guy?!” Zhihao cried out in shock.

The girl chuckled as she shook her head, “That was in the game.”

“Changing genders inside the game is possible…?!” This was a piece of information that was brand new to Zhihao so it was only natural that he reacted strongly, “I thought all our characters were custom-made and based on our real appearance!”

The girl had short hair and big eyes. She had a round face and looked quite eye-pleasing. She looked to be younger than her actual age and Zhihao could already guess that this girl was the type to be shy and afraid all the time.

“We can change characteristics such as our hair color, eye color, and gender. Other things like our face, height, and age remain the same in the game,” Kaoru explained patiently.

“Oh~ I thought it was only for hair color and all. I never thought gender was also included.”

Kaoru chuckled as she walked closer to Zhihao and stretched her hand forward for a handshake, “It’s nice to meet you in person, Mastermo.”

Zhihao smiled politely as he took a hold of her hand and greeted her back, “It’s nice to see you again as well, my rival.”

Kaoru couldn’t help but laugh as she heard Zhihao, “Do you still remember it?”

Zhihao nodded with a smile as a response.

Li Ling frowned as he looked between the two and tried to guess the situation, “What is it? What are you two talking about?”

Zhihao chuckled and it didn’t look like he was about to give an answer to Li Ling.

Zhihao remembered Kaoru because he was quite impressed with her when they met for the first time. Kaoru was someone who challenged Zhihao to his face. She said that she was the same as him. That she also looked up to the gamemaster and idolized him. The only difference between the two was the fact that Zhihao wanted to beat the gamemaster and Kaoru wanted to protect the gamemaster from the other players.

Her thinking and determination had impressed Zhihao so much that it would have been weirder for him not to remember the girl.

Zhihao felt a little good to know that this girl had managed to get so far. Now that they were both finally standing here in the final level of T.I.A.D, the real competition between them began. A competition to see if Zhihao could defeat the gamemaster or could Kaoru protect him.

“By the way, we have three minutes remaining,” Liang Feng suddenly spoke up with a sigh, “You guys are masters at wasting time.”

“Oh, right!” Kaoru immediately exclaimed as she threw her phone down to the ground and showed everyone her screen before picking it up quietly.

Andyzz was a young man who looked to be just a year older than Zhihao and it was now his turn.

He also didn’t hesitate much as he threw the phone down.

While they were throwing their phones and revealing their chess piece, Jiangshi and Li Ying were busy trying to take off the phone cover from Jiangshi’s phone.

If Zhihao were to see the phone cover, he would probably realize the identity of Jiangshi and Jiangshi still wasn’t ready to come clean to his brother.

Zhihao nodded as he turned to face his aunt. As soon as he saw her, he couldn’t fight against the urge to roll his eyes in annoyance as he questioned, “What in the hell are you doing?”

Aunt Su was sitting in a corner with her hands wrapped around her folded knees as she hugged her legs close to her chest. It was shocking enough that she had been silent this whole time but this scene shocked Zhihao a bit more. He had never actually seen his aunt do something like this.

“It’s over…” Aunt Su simply commented as a response.

“Eh?” The corner of Zhihao’s lips twitched as he heard the woman, “What are you talking about?”

“It’s over…” Aunt Su repeated as she placed her phone down and pushed it towards the others, “I’m not continuing this game.”

Zhihao’s frown deepened and his eyebrows creased together as he looked down at the screen of Aunt Su’s phone.

He immediately realized why the woman looked so dejected.

“So you’re just going to give up like that?” Zhihao wasn’t polite at all as he questioned, “Don’t you want to win?”

Aunt Su chuckled dryly as she heard the man, “Win and do what exactly? It’s better if I just turn around and walk back home. I don’t wanna do anything anymore.”

To say that Zhihao was shocked to hear this would be an understatement.

He couldn’t help but feel that this was a pretty weird action for Aunt Su. A simple challenge in a game had managed to depress her like this? It was certainly too unbelievable.

Kaoru sighed as she looked at Zhihao and informed, “When we received the notification for the game, she was on a date.”

Zhihao’s face cringed up as he waited for the girl to continue.

“She dumped him by mistake,” Kaoru shrugged her shoulder as she added.

“And he was just my type!!” Aunt Su cried out and two big drops of tears started trailing down her face, “This is so unfair!! I hate this damn game!!”

Zhihao was left speechless as he tried to understand her situation, but at the end of the day, since he had never been in such a situation, he naturally could not grasp why she was so depressed about it.

Wasn’t it just a date?

She could always reschedule it, couldn’t she?

“So you’re going to give up just like that?” Zhihao questioned as he looked at her with no sympathy.

Aunt Su bit her lips bitterly as she glared at the man, “Then what do you want me to do?! Didn’t you see my mission?!”

Zhihao pursed his lips as he sighed.

“If I complete that mission, doesn’t it mean you’ll be the one to lose?” Aunt Su stood up as she shouted, “Are you sure you want me to win instead of you?”

Zhihao opened his mouth to give her an answer but she stopped him suddenly as she snapped, “Don’t answer that! Even if you are willing, I am not! If I hold you back right now, I’ll feel indebted to you for the rest of my life.”

Zhihao almost wanted to laugh as he heard this, “You’re saying that as if you care for me.”

Aunt Su gritted her teeth as she glared back, “That’s right. I’m your aunt so I do care about you and I am haunted by the fact that I stole your career from you before this.”

“…”

“This game is clearly trying to break us apart. It was organized in a way that turns us against each other and I don’t want to let the game win.”

When Zhihao heard this, for the first time in his life, he felt that he was seeing his aunt in a new light. He would have never expected her to say something like this. In his eyes, Aunt Su was just a selfish annoying person that loved to bug him and leech off of other people before betraying them.

“Zhihao, you win this for me! I’m giving up and by doing so, I’m winning against the game,” Aunt Su walked closer to the man and gave him her phone.
