What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?! - Chapter 225
“Argh! Forget about them! Maybe the little brat figured something out. Gege, complete what you were saying,” Tian Xifeng suddenly exclaimed as she walked up to Zhihao and forced the man to say something.
Zhihao sighed as he got back to the topic, “We must find the hunters before they find us.”
“That!” Tian Xifeng bit her bottom lip in frustration as she added, “Why? Isn’t that dangerous? How can you say that it’s the only way we can survive?”
“Damn it…” Zhihao suddenly cursed as he muttered, “Those impatient brats should have waited to let me finish.”
“What is it, Mastermo?” Liang Feng also asked as he curiously looked at Zhihao and waited for the man’s explanation.
“The phones,” Zhihao answered, “The three hunters also have it. They know exactly where we are..”
It was like a bolt of lightning that had struck down on them. This… Was a bit too shocking.
“Li Ying…!” Li Ling immediately turned to look in the direction where the other two youngsters had run off too.
Zhihao could sense that the man was worried about the well-being of his sister and wanted to run after her so he tightened his hold around his arm.
Li Ling took a sharp breath in as he turned to face Zhihao.
“It’s gonna be okay,” Zhihao looked determined as he reassured him.
Of course, nothing was okay.
Jiangshi and Li Ying had run off without waiting to hear this very important information. They were probably thinking about running and hiding in order to avoid the three hunters but if they didn’t know that the hunters had their location, then they were at a disadvantage.
“It’s impossible…” Kaoru almost sounded like she was about to cry as she muttered, “We can’t win…”
“No. If you accept your defeat like that then you’d be defeated for sure,” Zhihao snapped as he straightened his back, “We must come up with a plan.”
Before anyone could say anything, they suddenly heard a few more rounds of gunshot and everyone immediately ducked down.
One of the hunters was shooting inside the building that Jiangshi and Li Ying had gone into.
Li Ling was breathing heavily as he covered his ears and Zhihao could sense that the man was restless and ready to run inside the building at any moment now. If it weren’t for Zhihao grabbing onto his arm and holding him back then Li Ling surely would have given in to his instincts and run inside the building.
“Believe in them. They are not that stupid,” Zhihao reassured and Li Ling didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this.
“You have no idea how stupid they are.”
Zhihao shook his head and was about to say something but his words were cut short when they suddenly heard another round of gunshot and this time, it was a bit too loud and near them.
“Sh*t!!” Wang GuiYing cried out as he crawled around, “Stop shooting, you retards!!”
“Damn it!” Zhihao also cursed as he looked around to see that they were the targets of the gunshots this time.
“Run towards the building!” Zhihao immediately ordered out as he grabbed tightly onto Li Ling and pulled him along as fast as he could, “Do not run in a pattern!”
Of course, this was something that Zhihao had learned through games and he never would have imagined that he would be needing this information at such a moment.
By not following a pattern while running, the shooters would have a harder time shooting on the mark since the target was moving and the movement was spontaneous.
“Ahhhhh!” Tian Xifeng was constantly screaming as she covered her head with her arms and ran around like a dog that had its tail on fire.
Liang Feng also followed closely behind her while Wang GuiYing kept crawling on the ground.
“Mastermo! Zhou Xinyi! Save me!” Wang GuiYing cried out as he couldn’t find enough strength to stand up and run for himself.
Zhou Xinyi clicked his tongue as he picked the man up and threw him on his shoulder before continuing to run away towards the building.
“This is illegal!” Kaoru screamed out as she ran closely behind Zhihao and Li Ling.
“Everything is legal in a game!” Zhihao shouted back, making sure that his voice was heard over the sound of gunshots.
In just a few minutes, they managed to get inside the building and immediately hid behind the wall to catch their breaths.
“Ahhh!” They heard a loud heart chilling scream that was filled with pain.
Zhihao’s eyes widened as he looked around to see who was left behind.
“Andyyy!” It was Kaoru who shouted as she turned around to see the man that had fallen on the ground and was grabbing his leg in pain.
He was shot.
Kaoru got ready to run after him but was stopped as she felt her hand being held back by Tian Xifeng.
“Are you stupid?! You’ll die if you go back!” Tian Xifeng scolded her.
“And he’ll die if I don’t!” Kaoru shouted back as she forcefully yanked her hand away
“…” Tian Xifeng didn’t look to be too pleased but before she could say anything, Zhihao had already stepped in between the two.
“You stay here. I’ll go,” Zhihao tapped on Kaoru’s shoulder as he gently pushed her back towards Tian Xifeng and got ready to go after Andyzz who had fallen.
Before Zhihao could take more than two steps forward, another gunshot was heard and this time, the bullet pierced through the man’s head and killed him on the spot, putting an end to his agony.
Zhihao’s eyes went wide and he paused on the spot as his muscles went tense.
“Noooo!!!!” Kaoru shouted at the top of her lungs but of course, it was of no use.
“A-Zhi, watch out!” Li Ling suddenly grabbed onto the man and pulled him to hide behind the wall as a few more bullets aimed towards them.
Everyone was shocked to the point where they dare not say anything and their breaths got stuck in their throats as they tightened their fist and kept hiding behind the wall.
The gunshots stopped and it seemed that the hunter that was shooting them was on the move once again.
“We need to move,” Li Ling broke the silence as he quickly gathered himself together.
“He died…” It was Wang GuiYing who muttered in disbelief.
“Yes,” Li Ling’s voice didn’t contain any feelings within it as he responded, “And if we don’t get moving, we’ll be dead as well.”
Wang GuiYing’s eyebrows creased together and his eyes looked to be red as he looked back at Li Ling in disbelief, “He freaking died! He really died!”
[Player: Andyzz has been eliminated.]
The system sounded as lively as ever as it suddenly announced and reminded them of the traumatizing scene they had just witnessed.
Zhihao didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard the system announcing the obvious.
“So… you die if you get eliminated in this level?” Tian Xifeng scoffed as she found it to be a bit funny.
Zhihao shook his head as he corrected her, “No. You get eliminated if you die. It’s a more stupid rule.”
Of course, this rule was stupid, after all, if you were dead then it need not even be said that you’d be eliminated. Which dead player can manage to continue playing even if you forced him to?
Zhihao sighed as he felt a cold sweat trail down his forehead, “We have to get moving.”
Li Ling nodded as he bit his bottom lip and agreed, “We’ll find a safe zone first and then we’ll come up with a plan.”
Everyone else still looked to be stunned and affected by Andyzz’s death but they still nodded their heads without any energy as they agreed to follow Li Ling and Zhihao.
Zhihao led the group inside the building and headed for the main control room. The other players didn’t even bother asking him where he was taking them or what his plan was as they simply followed after him mindlessly.
Zhihao would slow down at every corner and cautiously peek to see if there were any hunters around or not. Luckily enough for them, they had been running for at least a few minutes now and they still hadn’t bumped into any hunters.
Zhihao almost found this a bit suspicious as he believed that they weren’t this lucky.
What was more shocking was not the fact that they hadn’t come across any hunters but it was the fact that Li Ying and Jiangshi were also missing.
Zhihao could clearly sense that the man beside him was extremely worried for his sister and he had every right to be. If it was Zhihao’s brother then Zhihao would have also been just as worried.
They were soon able to reach the main control room that probably had an access to all the cameras that surrounded this place.
The door was closed and there was nothing weird about it so without thinking too much about it, Zhihao opened the door.
Just before he could even set his right foot inside the room, he was pulled aside by Li Ling who had clearly noticed something wrong inside the room.
