What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?! - Chapter 240
“Done!” Jiangshi exclaimed loudly before covering his mouth as he cautiously glanced at Zhihao to see if the man had noticed.
In his mind, he cursed himself a million times for not being careful enough.
There was no way that Zhihao would not recognize his own brother’s voice so Huang Zhen had made sure not to say anything till now but for a second there, he had forgotten all about Zhihao.
Zhihao had his eyes on the screen and his fingers suddenly stopped.
At first, Huang Zhen thought that it was because of him but when he took a closer look, he noticed that Zhihao didn’t even bother paying attention to anything that happened around him anymore. The reason why he stopped typing was simply because of the question that was presented in front of him.
It was a question that nobody else got and when they looked at Zhihao’s screen, even they were not able to give an answer to it fast enough.
Li Ling’s body went tense as his eyes widened ever so slightly when he looked at the question.
[If your lover is the gamemaster, would you still be able to kill him? If you can’t kill him, would you stand aside and watch him die or would you protect him even after knowing that you would be sacrificing your world and life by protecting him?]
Li Ying frowned as she read out the question, “What type of nonsense is this?”
“Twelve seconds remaining,” Liang Feng informed as he cautiously looked at Zhihao.
Zhihao took a sharp breath in as he started typing out the answer.
[I believe him and love him so all the options are useless. I’m not going to kill him nor am I going to stand aside and watch someone else hurt him. Sacrificing this world is not even an option for me. I’m Mastermo and I would surely find another way out of it.]
Li Ling’s breath got caught in his throat as his eyes started getting a little wet due to the intense emotions he felt after reading Zhihao’s answer.
The screen changed and on the black background, there was a green text box that had the word ‘complete’ written on it.
Zhihao sighed in relief as he leaned back on his chair, with his head facing up at the ceiling.
The players gulped in worry as they glanced at him but said nothing.
The competition got over soon enough and the notification from the system took a bit of time to come, however, nobody dared to say anything during that small waiting period.
They were all already aware that one of them was the gamemaster and according to the question presented by the system, Li Ling was suspected to be the gamemaster.
Some of the players already knew that this was true but the others were still unaware of this fact so it was pretty shocking for them to even consider the possibility of Li Ling being the gamemaster. It was shocking but it was not unbelievable and this fact managed to make them shiver at the thought.
[Congratulations to all eight players who have managed to clear the fourth competition!~]
[Devilmagiclover – Time saved: One minute and thirteen seconds.]
[Yingli – Time saved: One minute and Two seconds.]
[T-Rex101 – Time saved: Forty-eight seconds.]

[Mastermo – Time saved: One second.]
[You have managed to clear the level within ten minutes!]
[Time is precious and the time that flows, never returns.]
[Welcome to the world where we make the impossible, possible.]
[The time you have saved shall be returned back to you in the future and the time you have wasted shall forever remain wasted.]
[It’s quite surprising for us to see that so many of you have managed to survive all the competitions we have organized.]
[We also hope to surprise you just like you have managed to surprise us.]
[You have all proven that you are fast, strong, and intelligent. You all have the qualities that we are looking for in the winner, however, at the end of the game, there can only be one winner.]
[Everybody is good but the one who wins is the best standing above the rest.]
[Are you the one that’s going to be the best or is it the player that stands beside you that’s going to block your path to winning?]
“It’s trying to turn us against each other,” Zhihao sighed as he commented out loud, “Don’t bother listening to it.”
[Your next competition is about to begin soon.]
[You have two minutes to get to your next destination.]
[Failure to reach the arena would lead to an instant elimination.]
Zhihao straightened his back as he snapped out of his thoughts and looked down at his phone screen that had changed once again.
[All the best to all the players and we hope to see you in the maze of death!~]
Wang GuiYing chuckled dryly as he stood up and commented, “The maze of death doesn’t really sound that exciting.”
Li Ying couldn’t help but laugh as she nodded her head, “I’m pretty sure that it’s not meant to be exciting either. Well, as long as you don’t enjoy risking your life, it shouldn’t sound enjoyable.”
“Let’s go,” Li Ling announced as he stood up as well.
Zhihao sighed as he nodded his head and pushed himself off the chair, “I’m tired.”
They were not only tired physically but they were also at their limits mentally.
They had been running from one place to another and haven’t even got enough time to rest so it was only natural that they no longer had any energy left.
“Follow me,” Li Ying yawned as she stretched her arms before heading towards the exit of the place.
The other players simply followed the girl calmly, and on their faces, one could not see any excitement.
It wasn’t only Zhihao that was tired. The rest of the players were also dead tired.
Although they were tired and had no energy to continue running from place to place, they were still fast as they hurried out of the pink house and got in the car before heading to the next destination that was nearby.
Zhihao frowned as he started the car but didn’t drive forward.
“What happened?” Wang GuiYing questioned as his eyebrows furrowed up, “We don’t have time, we need to go.”
Zhihao seemed to have suddenly realized something, however, he didn’t say anything to Wang GuiYing as he simply took his feet off the brakes and started driving forward.
Wang GuiYing could somehow notice that there was something wrong so he asked, “Mastermo, what is it? Why do you look like that?”
“What do you mean?” Zhihao sighed as he refused to give the man a straight answer.
“You know exactly what I mean,” Wang GuiYing frowned as he spoke, “I know that look on your face. You always have this look when you suddenly get a new hint so out with it.”
Zhihao chuckled dryly as he shook his head, “I’m not sure about it so I can’t say yet. It might not even be something important.”
“I refuse to believe you!”
“…”
“Just tell me what you’re thinking or I’ll die from curiosity,” Wang GuiYing whined as he tried to trick the man into revealing the hint.
Zhihao sighed as he finally gave up and replied, “The arenas that we have visited till now. They have nothing in common.”
Wang GuiYing frowned as he pondered over it and nodded his head, “That’s right. The first one was an office building, the second was an arcade, the third was a stadium while the fourth was the mysterious pink house. They have nothing in common.”
Zhihao took a sharp breath in as he added, “But there must be a reason why they were chosen as the arenas for the competitions.”
“Eh? Isn’t it random?” Wang GuiYing questioned curiously.
Zhihao sighed as he shook his head and sped up the car, “There is no way that the competition arenas were decided randomly by the system. Every small thing is a hint and I’m sure this was also a hint. There was a reason why the system chose such unrelated spots.”
“Why?” Wang GuiYing’s eyebrows creased together in worry as he asked.
“As I’ve said before, I’m not sure but If I remember correctly, all the points of the arenas on the map are actually making a pentagon.”
“Well there are five spots so if we connect them all, it should naturally make a pentagon.”
Zhihao shook his head as he denied it, “That’s not it. When you connect all the points, it’s making a perfect pentagon. However, it only makes a pentagon when we connect the dots with a pentagon in mind. If we connect it according to the order of the competition then the pentagon would be ruined.”
Wang GuiYing nibbled on his bottom lip as he heard this, “What exactly does that mean?”
“I don’t know,” Zhihao shrugged his shoulder with a chuckle, “I just wanted to point it out because it’s so weirdly perfect.”
“…” To say that Wang GuiYing was speechless would be an understatement.
