What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?! - Chapter 244
Li Ying didn’t know if she wanted to laugh or cry as she heard this.
“Then let’s try our best and figure out the passcode,” Liang Feng sighed as he stepped forward and offered a helping hand to Li Ling.
“There is one thing that we forgot to consider,” Wang GuiYing spoke up as he suddenly realized something.
“What is it?” Li Ying turned to ask as she looked at the man.
“This is a mall, is it not?” Wang GuiYing asked and Li Ying’s frown deepened as she tried to understand him.
“A shopping mall…” Kaoru muttered as she slowly understood what the man was trying to say, “Of course, it is! A shopping mall where we can buy stuff!”
Wang GuiYing smiled as he turned and gave the girl a nod, “At least, someone got it..”
“I’m still clueless, what are you guys talking about?” Li Ying frowned as she questioned.
Wang GuiYing chuckled as he raised his hand and patted the girl’s head, “Yingli, I didn’t know you were so slow.”
Li Ying frowned as she clearly didn’t like the comment.
Kaoru turned around and ran inside the mall without bothering to say anything to anyone.
“Yah! Wait for me too!” Wang GuiYing shouted after her as he took a few seconds to react and ran after her.
Zhou Xinyi sighed as he followed after Wang GuiYing leaving the others behind.
“What the hell?!” Li Ying blinked as she looked at their running backs in disbelief, “Did they go crazy or something?”
Li Ling chuckled as he heard her sister, “They didn’t go crazy, in fact, Trash is finally using his brain for once.”
Zhihao sighed as he nodded and agreed to Li Ling, “It’s a shopping mall. The most advantageous thing for us is perhaps this fact itself. A shopping mall has a lot of things that we could use.”
Li Ying’s eyebrows creased together as she suddenly pulled Jiangshi and exclaimed, “We’ll be heading to the rooftop.”
Li Ling frowned as he glared at her sister and clearly said a solid, “No.”
Li Ying pursed her lips as her eyes narrowed down on her brother.
“It’s too dangerous for you to go alone,” Li Ling sighed as he stated and tried to explain that the reason he didn’t want to send her was for her own good.
Li Ying chuckled as she heard this, “Big bro, do you think anything dangerous could happen to me?”
Li Ling scoffed as he shook his head, “I’m not worried for you, I’m worried for the mall. You might damage it.”
“…” Li Ying looked to be unimpressed and a little bit annoyed as she heard this.
Zhihao clicked his tongue as he thought about it for a second and exclaimed, “You can go.”
“Eh?” Li Ling frowned as he turned to face Zhihao.
Zhihao shrugged his shoulder as he tried to explain, “It would save us some time. If the rooftop is also sealed just like this then we might be wasting time.”
“So you want to send them in order to check whether the rooftop is an option that can be considered or not?” Tian Xifeng questioned as she looked at Zhihao in all seriousness.
Zhihao nodded his head as he confirmed, “It wouldn’t take them too long. If it’s closed then you come back and report, and if it’s open then you try to find a way out and come back to report. Whatever happens, you come back and report, okay?”
Li Ying nodded her head as she slightly smiled in understanding, “Got it!”
“I’ll give you three minutes and if you don’t come back till then, we come to get you,” Zhihao informed seriously.
Li Ying nodded her head once again as she turned and headed for the stairs with Jiangshi who was simply pulled along with her even though he had no actual interest in going all the way up just to check.
“A-Zhi, it’s dangerous,” Li Ling frowned as he looked at Zhihao and complained.
Zhihao smiled as he nodded, “It can be dangerous only if there is another danger that the system is hiding from us.”
“…”
“But I don’t think there needs to be something more dangerous than a ticking time bomb,” Zhihao added as he pursed his lips.
Li Ling sighed as he admitted defeat and just decided to let the man do whatever he wanted to do.
“Don’t worry,” Zhihao reassured, “If they don’t get back in three minutes then I’ll go up to get them.”
Li Ling pouted as he nodded his head like a little child that didn’t agree with something but didn’t dare to say something against it either.
“Let’s worry about this thing first,” Liang Feng clicked his tongue as he caught everyone’s attention and typed in another passcode that was once again wrong.
Tian Xifeng glanced at Liang Feng before lifting her head to look in the direction where Li Ying and Jiangshi had run off to. Something was clearly troubling her and in the very next second, she spoke up, “Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon.”
Liang Feng snapped his head in shock as he looked at the woman’s back, “You too?!”
Zhihao, “Let her go. Didn’t she say that she would be back?”
Liang Feng frowned as he nodded and listened to Zhihao.
Li Ling kept his eyes on the lock and carefully observed all the passcodes that were being typed in by Liang Feng.
“This is going to take too long,” Zhihao clicked his tongue as he got a little impatient, “It’s a six-digit number. There are a million possible combinations.”
“Agreed,” Liang Feng muttered, his hands not bothering to stop as he continued as fast as he could.
A-Zhi, do you have a better plan then?” Li Ling questioned as he looked at the man.
Zhihao sighed as he shook his head with much embarrassment, “I’m really too exhausted to come up with anything but…”
“But?”
“The system said that all the hints were given to us. The passcode should also be given to us, don’t you think?”
Li Ling’s eyebrows creased together as he thought about it for a few seconds before nodding, “If this is really the method that the system wants us to use then it would provide us with the passcode.”
“And if it didn’t provide us the hint for the passcode then it means we are barking up the wrong tree,” Zhihao muttered.
They were already exhausted after going through all the anxiety and pressure that was put upon them from the last four competitions. Even Zhihao who thought he had mastered the skill of staying calm in intense and strenuous situations was not able to think straight at this moment.
He felt as if they were missing something.
Zhihao bit his bottom lip as he pondered over it.
It felt as if the answer was right in front of his eyes, at the tip of his tongue, and in the back of his mind. Zhihao seriously felt as if there was something he was not considering. As if there was something that he had overlooked.
This feeling of feeling as if you were missing something was rather frustrating as Zhihao glanced down at the ticking timer and looked up at Liang Feng and Li Ling who were trying to open the door.
“We are here! We are here!” It was the loud and annoying voice of Wang GuiYing that had returned.
Zhihao’s eyes lit up as he saw the hammer in his hand and then his eyes slowly contracted as he saw the man’s left hand which was tightly clutching onto a bag filled with food and drinks.
“Did you just go and steal all this?” Zhihao questioned as he blinked in disbelief.
Wang GuiYing smiled brightly as he nodded his head and proudly stated, “Mastermo, this might just be a virtual world so what are you afraid of? Enjoy it while you still can!”
“…”
Zhihao sighed as he didn’t bother saying anything as a response to that but this didn’t mean that he agreed with Wang GuiYing.
Li Ling chuckled as he straightened his back and walked towards Wang GuiYing.
“You’re hungry too, aren’t you?” Wang GuiYing beamed as he questioned.
Li Ling stretched his palm out forward and Wang GuiYing handed the bag of snacks to him.
“There you go!”
Li Ling blinked as he handed the bag back and demanded, “Give me the hammer. It’s the only useful thing you brought.”
“Oh…” Wang GuiYing muttered awkwardly as he handed the hammer over to Li Ling before adding, “It’s not the only thing we brought.”
Li Ling didn’t bother listening to him as he turned around and warned Liang Feng, “Step aside for a second.”
Liang Feng didn’t question anything as he stepped aside and gave Li Ling some space.
At the same moment, Zhihao’s eyes trailed behind Wang GuiYing where he saw Kaoru and Zhou Xinyi slowly approaching them with both their hands filled.
Zhihao was a bit shocked to see that they were carrying a lot more useful stuff that could actually manage to help them not just in this level but in the next as well.
