What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?! - Chapter 285
Zhihao sighed as he looked down at Li Ling’s hand that he was tightly clutching.
“It feels so warm,” Zhihao muttered and there was a single tear that had managed to trail down his cheek.
However, since Zhihao knew that Li Ling could hear him, he immediately wiped the tear away and tried his best to stay strong.
“Brother Zhi!~” Huang Zhen opened the door with a wide smile on his face and a big bouquet of flowers in his hand.
“You’re here?” Zhihao immediately wiped away all the tears and asked, pretending as if he was completely fine, however, he was fooling no one as with just a look, his brother was able to tell that the man had been crying.
“It has been a year,” Huang Zhen frowned as he commented, “Why are you still crying?”
Zhihao chuckled as he heard this and straightened his back as he responded, “It doesn’t matter if it has been a year or not. He’s still not awake so how can I not be sad?”
Huang Zhen sighed as he put the flower basket down on the side table before pulling up a chair and sitting beside his brother as he spoke, “It’s not wrong to feel sad and I’m not telling you to be happy either but… I think you should start to accept it, Big bro.”
“…”
“The doctors may say that he doesn’t have a high chance of waking up but I believe in him and I believe that he loves you a lot,” Huang Zhen spoke with a small smile as he gently squeezed Zhihao’s hand affectionately, “It’s okay to be sad but if you cry, it means you are starting to lose hope and that is the last thing I want you to do.”
For some reason, Zhihao felt as if he wanted to cry even more as he heard this.
“Big bro, you have to trust him. He told you, didn’t he? He promised that he was going to come back and have a proper talk with you so never lose hope.”
Zhihao was suddenly a bit speechless as he saw his little brother acting so grown up.
It had only been a year but he could already tell that Huang Zhen had matured a lot. He was no longer that baby brother that would always idealize Zhihao and follow him around.
Zhihao would be lying if he said that he wasn’t a little disappointed to know that his brother was no longer that same cute little brother, but he was also happy to see that Huang Zhen had grown up so much in this one year.
“I’m not losing hope,” Zhihao had a thin smile on his face as he spoke and reassured the boy.
“And with all that aside, why are you here alone?” Zhihao asked as he looked around at the door, “Where is your girlfriend?”
Huang Zhen chuckled as he heard his brother and corrected him, “She’s not my girlfriend and she didn’t come today.”
Zhihao didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this. It was a bit ironic that Li Ling’s own sister had sent her friend over here but had not come herself.
“She is at Omelas right now. The company needed some help,” Huang Zhen sighed as he informed.
Zhihao felt a little bad for the girl as he heard this. She was still so young and yet she was being forced to act like a grown-up.
“It must be hard on her,” Zhihao sighed as he commented and his brother immediately frowned as he found himself not being pleased with Zhihao’s comment.
“I also have it hard! You should sympathize with me as well!” Huang Zhen whined as he exclaimed and Zhihao couldn’t help but chuckle as he saw this childish side of the boy that had still managed to remain the same.
“Tell me, why do you have it hard?” Zhihao asked with a chuckle and Huang Zhen pouted.
“I am swarmed by your fans every day! You have been inactivate for an entire year but they still refuse to forget you! I agree that the Mastermo is an unforgettable player but still! How can they be so dedicated?” It sounded as if the boy was complaining and yet at the same time it also sounded as if he was bragging about his brother’s greatness.
Zhihao chuckled as he responded, “Isn’t that why they are called fans? They love me and it should be hard to forget a person you love. Especially if you know that they are having a hard time.”
“They don’t even know you that well,” Huang Zhen pouted as he stated in a mutter and Zhihao simply chuckled as he managed to hear this comment.
“But of course, nobody in this world is unforgettable,” Zhihao sighed as he added, “Give them another ten years and I’m sure I’ll become nothing more than a distant memory for them. A memory that they would one day move on from.”
Huang Zhen immediately shook his head as he heard this and refuted Zhihao’s statement firmly, “That’s not true! You’re a legend and Legends never get forgotten!”
It seemed that there was one thing that didn’t change and it was the fact that Huang Zhen still looked up to Zhihao. He had stopped worshipping Zhihao as the amazing legend that could do everything but he had not forgotten the love and respect he had for that legend.
Zhihao rubbed Huang Zhen’s head lovingly as he asked, “Are you sure I’m a legend? I’ve heard that I was being overshadowed by another new legend who has been constantly rising nowadays.”
“What?! Who dare say that?! What new legend?! That’s all bullsh*t!” Huang Zhen reacted strongly and his reaction was certainly not fake.
Zhihao chuckled as he spoke, continuing, “Even I think he’s great. Might even be better than me.”
“No way! There is no one better than you! What’s that bastard’s name?!”
Zhihao tilted his head and tried his best not to laugh as he answered the question, “I think he’s called Jiangshi or something.”
Huang Zhen opened his mouth and got ready to curse the player who’s name had been called, but immediately stopped as he realized that the name was a bit too familiar.
Zhihao broke out laughing as he saw the change in the expression on the boy’s face. At first, he was red with anger then he turned white as realization hit him, and then he turned red with embarrassment once again.
“Big bro, don’t joke around with me like that,” Huang Zhen spoke up, trying his best not to sound too embarrassed, “I can never replace you.”
Zhihao chuckled as he heard this but didn’t bother saying anything as a response.
“This reminds me…” Huang Zhen muttered and a small smile crept up on his face as he spoke, informing, “Brother Wang GuiYing was asking if you’re okay.”
“You met him?” Zhihao blinked in surprise as he asked.
Wang GuiYing had been pretty busy this past year and it was quite hard to get a hold of the man. He had only visited the hospital a handful of times in the past year and Zhihao couldn’t really blame him for it since he could understand the man.
With Zhou Xinyi still missing, it was only natural that Wang GuiYing was busy searching for the man.
Even Zhihao was worried and shocked to hear that Zhou Xinyi was missing. He hadn’t known the man as well as Wang GuiYing did, however, he was still able to say that Zhou Xinyi was not a careless person who would simply go missing like that.
In fact, everybody who had met the man would be able to see that Zhou Xinyi cared about Wang GuiYing a bit too much to let the man worry about him like this.
This only made things more complicated since it was clear that the man was not missing because of his own personal decision.
Zhihao had Li Ling lying in front of him right here, but Wang GuiYing didn’t even know if Zhou Xinyi was still alive or not.
If the two were to be compared then Wang GuiYing certainly had a more pitiful situation.
“I met him by chance,” Huang Zhen nodded with a sigh as he informed, “He was not looking so great.”
Zhihao couldn’t help but frown as he heard this.
“I told him you and Li Ling were the same. I also asked him to take care of himself but I have a feeling that he’s not going to listen to my advice.”
“…”
“In any case, after having suddenly met him, a thought crossed through my mind.”
“A thought?” Zhihao repeated in confusion as he curiously looked at the boy and waited for him to continue.
Huang Zhen nodded his head as he responded, “I want to help him. That’s what I thought.”
Zhihao gulped as he heard this. He truly considered Wang GuiYing a friend so it was only natural that Zhihao also wanted to help him find Zhou Xinyi, but he also knew that he was going to be of no use.
