When A Ghoul Falls In Love - Volume 1 Chapter 147
“Killian Forst,” I answer him. Maybe it’s because he has Baek Joon Woo’s face. “You are also not human.”
“Do you hate that I am not human?”
“I don’t know you enough to hate you.” I try to get up, but my body is aching all over. I glare at the man. “What did you do to me?”
Did he do something creepy to me?
The man helps me sit up. He even puts pillows behind my back to support my body. I look at him suspiciously. I have many questions. Why am I waking up in this room again and again?
“Are you hungry?” He brushes the strands of my hair away from my face while scrutinising my face. At the same time, the cat takes a seat in my lap. The blonde man continues to watch me like I am his long lost daughter.
My kidnappers are funny people.
“What kind of place is this?” I know that something isn’t right. I woke up here, and then, I woke up back in my room. How is this possible unless I have two bodies? At this junction of my life, having two bodies won’t surprise me either. “Did you guys kidnap me from my room?”
Both men look at me helplessly; none bothers to answer me.
“Did Killian kidnap me?” I narrow my eyes on the golden-eyed man. “He has a reason to kidnap me.”
“What’s going on?” The golden-eyed man questions the blonde. “If it’s already over, why is she like this?”
“I don’t know.” The blonde man shakes his head tearfully. “He must have tweaked the spell.”
I scowl at them. “Spell? I guess I am truly kidnapped by that bastard. Where the f.u.c.k is he? I want to stab him with cold iron!”
It must be Killian. These two men are his underlings. He must have done something to me. Is it the day my mother fed me the abortion pills?
“Nell, calm down.” The golden-eyed man soothes me, “Listen, we didn’t kidnap you, and we aren’t Killian’s people.”
“Look.” I raise my hand. “I was in my room with Baek Joon Woo a while ago. Now, I am here with two strangers. One of the strangers has his face and he also knows him. The other one looks at me like he owes me or something. Does it not seem shady? Let’s talk like a.d.u.l.ts here. I am already eighteen. How much money do you want? I want to tell you that my mother isn’t a rich woman. She also killed my baby and my friends almost sent her to prison. So, it’s not an ideal time to further mess up my life.”
The golden-eyed man gapes at me as if I just spoke to him in the Icelandic language.
“This is a soap opera.”
I look down at the cat. It’s talking.
“The f.u.c.k!” I stare at the calico cat. “You can speak.”
“The f.u.c.k.” It mocks me. “Why am I not surprised that an escapist like you got stuck again?”
“Hey!” I push the cat away. “You aren’t a cat.”
“I am Devil.” The cat sneers at me. “Go back and remember everything.”
“I remember everything.” I grimace at him. “Is this a mind game? All of you want to prove that I am crazy and then, you will send me to Killian. I won’t become a child-bearing machine.”
The cat lets out an exasperated sigh. “I am done.”
Suddenly, the blonde man walks to me and presses his hand against my forehead.
His hand is cool against my skin, but a warm and comfortable feeling rises in my chest. I blink my eyes. The emptiness seems to fade away.
“She did it to herself,” He tells the golden-eyed man. “The earring is lending her the power to block the seal from harming her.”
Now, this feels like a fantasy movie. Is this truly not a dream?
“Self defence.”
A new voice enters the room. I look at the owner of the voice. He has green hair and horns.
That’s it.
“All of you are fae!” I scream as I raise my hand to push the blonde man away from me. “Don’t touch me! I am going to kill you all.”
“Pfft!” The cat snickers. “You can’t even move your body properly.”
“Shut up,” I growl, “I will cook a cat curry if you don’t behave.”
“Sinister woman.” The cat snarls, “How could you even think of that? I don’t even want to be a cat. Give me a new body.”
“You will get a new body in your next life.” I grab him by his neck. “It’s time to say goodbye to everyone, Devil.”
“Little Marshmallow, save me from this psychopath!”
The cat cries loudly while scratching my wrist. I don’t let it go. I curl my fingers around his neck to twist the life out of its body.
“Wait.” The golden-eyed man grabs my hand. “Don’t hurt him.”
“Tell me who you are.” I tighten my fingers on the cat’s neck. “If you don’t, I will kill your pet.”
“We aren’t fae.” The golden-eyed man says to me in a rushed tone, “We won’t hurt you, Nell. Can’t you give us the benefit of doubt?”
His grip on my hand is strong. I know that I can’t fight three men who aren’t humans. Maybe the pale blonde is a human. I release the cat. “Then, what are you?”
“I am…” He furrows his brows as he releases my wrist. “How old are you again?”
“Eighteen,” I reply curtly. “How old are you?”
“I am…” He looks at the cat for help. The cat turns its back to him.
“He and I are demons,” The green-haired man answers, “He is 632 years old and I am 650 years old.”
I open my mouth wide. Are they crazy? “It should be a crime to look so young when you are so old.”
“I guess so.” The green-haired man chuckles. He points at the pale blonde. “That man is human. If you don’t trust us, you can be at ease around him.”
“Oh.” I study the pale blonde. He is fidgeting under my gaze. “What’s your name?”
“My name…”
He also glances at the cat as if he is looking for some confirmation.
Is this cat the real boss? Everyone is looking at him.
“What can I do?” The cat shrieks. “I am also clueless. Do whatever you want.”
It seems like it’s not.
The pale blonde sighs. “My name is Zachary Krauss. I am your father.”
F.u.c.k.
