When A Ghoul Falls In Love - Volume 1 Chapter 150
Should he give up on her?
A tinge of doubt emerges in his heart. If he gives up on her, what will become of her?
Her father can protect her. The Council might interfere. Nell can be saved, even if he is not a part of her life.
He can save himself from the pain.
After all, one-sided love is exhausting.
“If you can imagine a future without her, you should leave.” Devil’s penetrating voice resonates in the corridor. “Little Marshmallow, the decision isn’t as difficult as you make it to be. If you think that you can’t be with her, then don’t stay with her. She doesn’t need anyone’s pity. Nell is prepared to face her future with or without you, even if it looks like she is a cowardly woman who can’t face the last bits of her pain.”
“Devil, shouldn’t you try to convince me to stay with her?” Eli whimpers. “Of course, I want to be with her. Why are you telling me that she doesn’t need me? I am dying right now. Did you hear how she talks about Baek Joon Woo? I want to find that boy and choke him to death. How could she love him so much? I am also here, dying for her loving gaze to save me from my plight. To make it worse, she doesn’t remember me at all. Why doesn’t she remember me? Am I that bad? Now, she thinks that I don’t look like Baek Joon Woo because I don’t look at her the way he did. What kind of nonsense is that? How could she tell that I am not him by my gaze alone? Does she love him that much? What about me then? I don’t have a single corner in her heart. I don’t know what to do now. I am feeling hopeless and lost. I can’t even flirt with her because she thinks that I am too old. You are telling me that she doesn’t need me. Then, what is the meaning of my existence? All I want is that she loves me back, but she has to get amnesia. Why didn’t she forget Baek Joon Woo instead of me? Devil, do you know how unfair this is? I am alive, and he is dead. Why does she remember a dead person when I am alive? She should love me back.”
Amachi shakes his head and murmurs, “You are hopeless.”
Devil rolls his eyes. He doesn’t want to deal with this situation. Where can he go? He is in the most miserable situation here. Nell doesn’t remember him, and this ghoul is blabbering and crying like a man who has lost everything.
“What is the meaning of my existence?” Eli lies down on the floor as tears pour out of his eyes. “She doesn’t remember me. She doesn’t remember me. She doesn’t remember me…”
“I wish I could die right now.” Devil lets out an exasperated sigh. This is the worst situation that he can imagine. Even the ghoul is having an existential crisis. “I don’t want to exist right now.”
“Before, she didn’t love me back.” Eli grabs Amachi’s foot when Amachi tries to walk away. “Now, she doesn’t even remember me back. Amachi, why don’t you make me a potion to forget my love for her? I also want to forget.”
“You are a f.u.c.k.i.n.g alchemist!” Amachi yells at him. “Make one for yourself.”
“Please help me.” Eli wails loudly. “If she doesn’t remember me anymore, I will die.”
“Don’t be stupid.” Amachi tries to pull his leg out of Eli’s grasp. “Why would you die because of someone else? If you say rash things again, I will call Vector.”
Eli’s face turns ghastly pale. “Why would you call that demon?”
“He can fix you.” Amachi scowls darkly. “Look at you! Can anyone believe that you are the ghoul who defeated the army of devils?”
Devil flicks his ears curiously. Who is Vector?
“Nooooooo!” Eli howls. “Don’t call him. I am already in pain.”
Inside the room, Nell frowns deeply. “It sounds like pigs are being butchered outside.”
Zachary Krauss doesn’t know what to say. He is already in a dilemma. His daughter just told him that she would never forgive him if her friends got hurt because of him.
But her friends already got hurt because of him. What should he do now?
“I am going outside.” Nell pulls herself together and climbs off the bed. When her feet touch the floor, she feels like needles are pricking her soles. But the wailing noise is so bad that she can’t stop herself from walking out.
When she reaches the door, she sees the golden-eyes demon crying and thrashing his arms on the floor in front of the green-haired demon. The scene reminds her of a kid who would create a scene in the mall and embarrass his parents.
“Stop crying,” Amachi roars at Eli. “Give me a break.”
“My heart is breaking.” Eli wails louder. “It’s shattering away. It is stabbed, mauled, and put on fire. I can’t bear this pain. Amachi, I can’t live without her. What if she never remembers me? It’s worse than perishing under the hands of devils. I want to kiss her, suck her lips, touch her everywhere, make love to her, and leave little marks on her beautiful body. I want to have a married life with her. She will be the husband and I will be the wife. What should I do? My dreams are broken now. She doesn’t remember me. How will I lose my v.i.r.g.i.nity to her? She doesn’t remember me anymore. How will I listen to her m.o.a.ns? She doesn’t remember me! Only she can restore my broken heart. If she doesn’t remember me, I will be starved.”
“It sounds like he is rapping,” Devil mutters. “This l.u.s.tful ghoul is giving me an existential crisis. My ears will bleed at this rate.”
“Starved of her love,” Eli trails off, “She doesn’t remember me.”
Nell blinks her eyes. Is this a madhouse?
