When He Smiles - Chapter 31
The instant dry and rough warm feeling made her whole body tremble.
“Are you okay?”
Chi Zheng whispered and removed the hand covering her waist. The faint smell of smoke spread, and his breathing was too close and too heavy. Meng Shengnan tightened his lips and moved his gaze to one side and stood up slowly. Her drooping hands gripped the corners of the skirt tightly, betraying her thoughts. He glanced down, then raised it again.
“Meng Shengnan?”
She was stunned and looked at him with clear eyes.
“That—” he stammered.
He watched the changes calmly.
“I—go back first, you remember to warm up Teacher Chen, just took it out of the refrigerator.” She pointed to the soup pot he was holding, and then turned around. He didn’t say a word, his eyes were heavy. She took a step and looked back, “Um, you, be careful on the road.”
Chi Zheng hooked the corner of her mouth and let her go away.
The sun fell on the alley, the woman’s back. He looked at her for a while and rode away. Meng Shengnan just opened the door when he heard the sound of the engine. She slowly breathed a sigh of relief, poked her head out to see that the alley was empty, and her mood was difficult for a while.
The ceremony was sitting in the yard, knitting sweaters, and looked over.
“what’s happenin?”
She closed the door and walked in.
“It’s nothing, where’s Xiao Hang?”
“Your dad took it out to play.”
The ceremony lowered his head and hooked a thread of stitches, and then asked, “How is your Teacher Chen?”
“pretty good.”
She approached and sat down on a small bench with her chin on her knees facing the sun. When the wind blew, the hair on the side of the ear rose lightly. She sighed, chaos in her head. The sun shines on the face, warm and soft.
“Are you busy at school recently?”
The ceremony stopped knitting hands and stroked her hair.
She gave a dull ‘um’.
“When does vacation start?”
“It’s the end of the month.”
The ceremony sighed, “It’s summer vacation and Xiao Hang to go out and relax.”
“mom.”
“Ok?”
Meng Shengnan looked at the ground, earnestly and attentively. The ceremony gently stroked her thin back, once. It seems that when she returned to Jiangcheng without doing news, she burst into tears at the first sight of the ceremony. In the courtyard, the woman did the same, rubbing her hair, feeling uncomfortable.
“Talk to mom when you’re tired, ah.”
“Ok.”
The ceremony smiled.
“Women’s college can’t help but mother.”
Meng Shengnan took a deep breath and smiled. That evening, she fell asleep early. The lamp was dark in the room, and the white moonlight covered the bed outside the window. The wind blows in the alley and the radio broadcasts it. Chen Xiaochun sang an exclusive memory, she slept with a pillow.
Late at night in Jiangcheng, it was feasting.
In the repair shop, there is a small lamp on the side of the table. Chi Zheng leaned against the chair with his upper body naked, smoking cigarettes one by one. It was already two or three in the morning, surrounded by smoke. He lowered his eyes and glanced at the erect tuft of his lower body, remembering the spring dream that had just been awakened.
“Meng Shengnan.”
He murmured softly, and slapped his hair irritably. Squinted his eyes and took a puff of smoke, he spit out a halo fiercely. The desk lamp was dimly yellow, reflecting his hard and sturdy light on his naked waist. I don’t know that the dream will be so real. It is so real that all her moaning and breathing that he feels are as close to the auricle.
“Fuck.”
He cursed secretly and extinguished the smoke.
The phone screen on the desktop suddenly lit up, and he glanced impatiently, a string of seven-digit unknown numbers. The bell rang four or five times before Chi Zheng picked it up lazily.
“Guess where the buddies are now?”
It was noisy there, and Jiang Jin had a loud voice.
“Do you **** know what time it is?” Chi Zheng gritted his teeth.
Jiang Jin raised his eyebrows.
“My buddy can deeply remember the glorious era of typing on the keyboard all night.”
Chi Zheng laughed and hummed.
“Don’t **** bullshit, I have something to ask you.”
Jiang Jin stopped slobbering about Little Havana, and his voice was a little more serious.
“What’s the matter?”
Chi Zheng took a cigarette plug from the cigarette case on the table, lit it with a lighter, and threw it back on the table. He pondered for a while before asking.
“I remember you participated in the new concept back then?”
“Yeah, what?”
Chi Zheng bit the cigarette, his voice was muffled.
“Did you have a girl named Shu Yuan in those few years?”
Jiang Jin was dull for a few seconds.
“Ask what this is for?”
“I don’t know if it’s hanging up.”
He was about to close the line, and Jiang Jin shouted “Don’t” over there.
“Say.” He said faintly.
Jiang Jin smiled, “When you mention it now, I really miss my **** girl.”
Chi Zheng frowned.
“Sue you, my **** girl is also your Jiangcheng.”
The man’s cheeks sucked into two deep pits.
“The surname Chi, you won’t be interesting to my **** girl, do I?”
“You fucking—”
Chi Zheng suddenly recovered, and stopped talking.
“what did you say?”
It’s just that there is no sound on the other end. He looked down at the phone busy, showing that the connection was disconnected. When he called again, he was not in the service area. Chi Zheng kept his face cold, and threw the phone away. Recalling that there were a few times when Jiang Jin called this guy, how did he think that the so-called ‘dry girl’ would be inextricably linked to him. He guessed that the test probe was knocking on the side, although he had been aware of it, but he was still very upset.
“Meng Shengnan.”
He whispered again, frowned and turned on the computer. I searched again for “Shu Yuan” again, and there were several stories published in the last one or two years, but nothing else was found. Many of the manuscripts written in the past few years are now out of print, and Chi Zheng’s brain is numb for a while.
The wind and clouds outside the window are changing, and the sky is gradually rising.
That day, Meng Shengnan went to school after eating at noon. She got on the bus alone and looked at the busy traffic outside the window. From time to time, there are students riding bicycles passing by, as if in the blink of an eye, she was still in high school yesterday.
She sighed slowly.
I pulled out the phone from my bag and wanted to make a call to Qi Qiao. The workaholic seems to be busy and speaks very quietly. She stopped interrupting and hung up in a hurry, her gaze facing outwards. Suddenly a woman holding a little girl appeared on the side of the street, she was slightly fat. My hair is a bit disheveled, so I lower my head and go quickly.
That is the appearance of obviously crying.
When she looked over, the bus had already turned and walked away. Meng Shengnan couldn’t help feeling a little sad, and wanted to see Nie Jing for the first time that year. The girl with her ponytail was reading the book carefully and cleanly. Looking back now, I can only sigh. The most important thing is that the world can’t keep it, and Zhu Yan resigns to the mirror and flowers. Remembering the last time we met unexpectedly, she went home and chatted with the ceremony.
The ceremony sighed, “I walked out the road by myself, and I can’t blame anyone.”
It looks like it’s going to rain.
At three o’clock when she arrived at the school, she ran into Xiaolin at the door of the apartment. The 25-year-old woman was moisturized by love, with a short skirt and high heels, with a pretty face. She approached, peeked in her eyes, and asked with a smile, “Is my boyfriend gone?”
“Just left.” Xiao Lin pursed his lips. “Why did you come so early this afternoon?”
She nodded, “I’m here when I’m idle.”
“Aren’t you going out this afternoon?” Xiaolin asked again.
“No, what’s the matter?”
Xiao Lin smiled and shook several large clothing bags in his hand.
“Go to my room.”
Suddenly, she smiled and said okay.
The layout of the rooms in the teacher’s apartment is the same. Kobayashi lives on the fourth floor. The house is full of dolls, and the girl’s heart is bursting. She sat on the sofa and waited. The woman changed her clothes and asked her to advise her.
“How about this one?”
She glanced at the skirt, white body with blue accents, simple and generous.
“very nice.”
Xiao Lin laughed, and went in and exchanged another one.
“What about this one?”
Meng Shengnan gave a fair suggestion, “I think it’s better to be the first.”
“Really?”
“Ok.”
Xiaolin packed up and sat on the sofa to chat with her.
“He bought it for you?” Meng Shengnan asked.
“Yeah.” Kobayashi nodded. “He plans to take me to see his parents next weekend. Do you think I should be more conservative or fashionable?”
Upon hearing this, Meng Shengnan smiled.
“You have to ask him about this, but I think he will definitely think you wear whatever you want.”
Xiao Lin smiled.
“Why would he choose? I bought this dress because I liked him.”
The two didn’t talk for a while, but suddenly heavy rain poured out outside. Meng Shengnan looked up and saw that the rain seemed to be falling down. She remembered that there were some clothes confiscated on the balcony, and left Xiaolin and went back to the seventh floor. After that, he stayed alone in the house, read a book, and listened to the rain.
At half past six, the pouring still did not stop.
She looked tired and went to the kitchen to make porridge and drink. Sleeping and waking up at night, turn on the computer to write a recent column. The rain stopped and fell again, she looked for the background material needed in the story, and turned to half of the red building. When I was a child, I always thought that Cao Xueqin was a woman, but later I learned that she was not. Many years ago Zhang Ailing said that there are three hatreds in life.
I hate that Begonia has no fragrance,
Two hate shad are spiny,
The three hatred of the Dream of Red Mansions is not over.
I don’t know why she was so emotional, she flipped through the book, closed the book, and fell asleep. Sign in for class on Monday morning. In those few days, it was as calm as water. Teaching the classroom simulation as usual, chatting with a few familiar teachers in the office. Maybe it was just because she and Xiaolin were young and unmarried among the few people, it became the topic of chat. There was even an old teacher who introduced her to a blind date, but reluctantly declined.
Several teachers chatted about her while preparing for class that day.
“Xiao Meng has been around twenty or five after the new year, so hurry up.”
She smiled, “Ah.”
“Are there any favorites?”
She was about to speak when an old teacher and boy came in at the door. The teachers stopped talking and looked over. The student was thirteen or fourteen years old and followed the old teacher with his head down. I probably heard a few sounds, like a fight between students. The old teacher told him to go back to the classroom and shook his head hating iron and steel.
“Parents don’t care, you can tell that a child can fight every day.”
A teacher sighed.
“Isn’t it, this kid is very difficult to manage now.”
She lowered her head to write a note and heard it again.
“Several children in our class are single-parents. You can’t help it, pitifully.”
“Ugh.”
She stopped the pen in her hand and thought of the man again. All the throbbing and cautiousness of my youth, there are waves again today. The hurried kiss that Saturday afternoon kept her tossing and turning, and Meng Shengnan was helpless, not knowing where to go. The phone rang in her pocket briefly, and she took it out and saw the text message.
Jiang Jin wrote, Brother told you about the marriage.
She smiled back, no need.
It was mid-June, and the third day students graduated on Friday. They waited for the high school entrance examination on June 21st, so the whole school was closed at noon. She had arranged everything in school before going back. As soon as she got in the car, she received a call from Xiao Hang. When she arrived at the Fengshuitai intersection, she got out of the car and saw Meng Jin holding Xiaohang in her arms and waiting on the phone.
“sister.”
Xiao Hang broke free from Meng Jin’s arms and ran over, holding her hands up.
“Missing sister?”
Xiao Hang frowned, “You didn’t take me out to play last week.”
She shaved his nose.
“Will you go now?”
He narrowed his mouth reluctantly: “Okay.”
The two greeted Meng Jin and drove to the city. Meng Hang drove her around the mall. Tired of playing, the little boy lay on her lap and rested for a while. At four o’clock, she took Meng Hang’s hand and walked out of the mall.
The little boy suddenly said, “Sister, I want to sing.”
“Sing?” She didn’t react.
“Hamburger Hamburger…”
He was already singing, Meng Shengnan held back a smile and touched his belly.
“Did you want to eat it?”
Meng Hang pursed her mouth shyly, and she smiled.
There were snack bars along the street, and she took him to the Dicos opposite. At a glance, it was full of parents and children. Meng Hang quickly found an empty seat and called her over. She ordered a hamburger and ice cream and watched him eat it. Mickey Mouse was playing on the TV on the wall.
Meng Hang watched it seriously and was full of food.
She took the tissue and wiped his hand again. The little boy pointed to the TV and said, “Sister, I want to play that too.”
She turned to look behind her, and the screen switched to a new type of game for hegemony.
“How do you play when you are so young?” She turned around and asked.
Meng Hang pursed his lips: “Just teach me not to do it.”
“Neither will I.” She hasn’t played yet.
Meng Hang sighed, “Sister.”
“Ok?”
“Why are you so OUT now.”
Meng Shengnan: “…”
She opened her eyes wide and stared at the boy who was a little devil in front of her, dumbfounded. It was funny for a while, and I didn’t know how to speak. Some of these words were learned from Qi Qiao, and she reached out and rubbed his hair to make a face. There was a sudden low smile above her head, and her cheeks were hot.
“Brother teaches you.”
The man said.
