Chapter 77: Please Think A Little About The Feelings Of Those Who Are Watching The Love Comedy Template Event On The Side

The Tokyo Five College Baseball Tournament has a long history. It originally began as a rivalry between Hayao University and Posei University, which was joined by Imperial Capital University, Houmei University, and Ikekyo University up to the present. The tournament is a round-robin competition, and the university with the most wins is declared the winner. The opening ceremony was held today at a baseball stadium in Tokyo.
— “Gogo. We the players!”
The following is an abbreviation. I don’t know what kind of connections he had, but Hagiri was to take the oath of office. I think he seriously wants to show off. His ability and personality are not in balance at all. He has a very mismatched and distorted personality. I don’t even want to know how he got that way. After the opening ceremony, I changed from my uniform to my casual clothes and walked out of the waiting room to find Igarashi and the savvy girl there. There were also a guy in glasses and a serious-looking girl. They looked like students from our university.
“Ah, Tokiwa, yay!”
“Oh. Why are you here in this sweaty place?”
Igarashi replies with a carefree face.
“I’m interviewing members of the baseball team with the Imperial Capital University Newspaper Club.”
The student in the back appears to be the newspaper club.
“Seriously! We’re going to take the championship! You can count on it!”
I gave him a thumbs up and decided to give him my best smile. Igarashi gave me a thumbs up as well. But the savvy girl next to me gave me a jittery look and said.
“No, the interview is not with you, but with the manager and Hagiri.”
“Oh? That b*stard! He’s gonna appeal to the newspaper club too! How much of a show-off you are! Screw you!”
The circulation of the newspaper club of the Imperial Capital University is quite large. Even among students preparing for entrance exams nationwide, those who are aware of their chances of getting into the Imperial Capital University subscribe to it. The publicity from appearing in the newspaper is quite high.
“Name recognition is power. It’s only natural. If you’re frustrated, you should make more of an effort to market yourself.”
A cold, sharp voice echoes from behind me. Hagiri, still in his uniform, was coming out of the waiting room.
“Unlike you, I’m humble.”
“Humility is only appreciated until you’re in elementary school at best. It’s too weak an idea to be a virtue. It’s nonsense.”
Hagiri is a man who says this and says that, so it doesn’t matter what I say. We turn away from each other. Igarashi was smiling bitterly at us. That’s when it happened.
“Igarashi! You came!”
Imayuri, still wearing his uniform, ran up to Igarashi’s side.
“Eh? I’m an assistant for the interview…”
Igarashi was puzzled by Imayuri’s aggressive approach.
“What happened the other day? I’ll answer anything! Keep asking me questions!”
“Huh? No, um…”
I was about to break into the conversation. Hagiri raised his voice.
“Imayuri-senpai. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Are you still playing baseball?”
His voice was a bit of a dusky one that chills the hearts of anyone who hears it. Imayuri showed a somewhat frightened expression.
“Oh, ah. I couldn’t quit the club because I’m a spoiled brat…”
“I see. Well, it’s a verbal promise. Is it any wonder you didn’t keep your promise to me?”
“Ugh… That one! Yes!!! That was just a joke!”
There seems to be some kind of a causal relationship between the two of them. Igarashi tilts her head. But the savvy girl seems to know what’s going on, since she’s staring at him right now. I ask her in a quiet voice.
“What happened?”
“Imayuri was messing with Riri, so Hagiri challenged him to a game of baseball. He promised to give up on Riri if he couldn’t hit the ball that Hagiri pitched to him, and he also promised to quit club activities and be quiet.”
“That’s a very Hagiri-like way of doing things, isn’t it?”
It’s amazing how he comes to break his heart in the opponent’s ring. He is full of mounting power!
“So, you’ve come to mess with our Riri again without learning your lesson, have you?”
“I’m not messing with her! I’m going pro! Igarashi! Please go out with me on the premise of marriage!”
Everyone present was shocked. It seems that Imayuri’s assumptions have finally evolved to this point. Heavy…. No, I was in a relationship until I got married in my previous world, so I guess it’s similar. I can see that Igarashi is terribly upset.
“I decline.”
It was Hagiri, not Igarashi, who flatly refused.
“Why are you telling me this? I’m asking her, Igarashi!”
Imayuri’s protest was plausible.
“There’s no need to ask Riri. I decline.”
What’s this? For example, if Igarashi was too confused to respond, I could understand if Hagiri would cover for her or something. But even before Igarashi could react in any way, this man raised his voice. What’s this?
“…Again…again…you’re interrupting me!”
“I’m not interrupting, I’m just informing you of the decision. This is the end of our conversation. Please leave us.”
Hagiri coldly scolds Imayuri. But even Imayuri didn’t back down.
“Then, let’s play! If I win this five-college baseball game between our university and yours, Igarashi and I will get married! If I lose, I’ll never appear in front of Igarashi again! How about that?!”
What is he saying absurdly? There was no way he could leave Igarashi alone and decide on marriage. But Hagiri smiled coldly.
“That’s fine. Well, I’m going to win anyway. That’s fine.”
Hagiri and Imayuri glared at each other as if they were rivals. But they leave Igarashi, the point of contention between them, behind.
“Hey, wait a minute! What are you guys talking about? Don’t ignore Igarashi’s will! Why are you treating her like a prize without permission! Think about her will!”
I thought I had said the most honest thing I could have. But it didn’t go over well with Imayuri, who was in a rage.
“Shut up, Tokiwa! You were like that before! This man is tying up Igarashi! That’s why I’m going to free Igarashi and make her happy!”
I can’t talk about it. I agree with what he said about tying her up, but what he’s saying is messed up.
“Riri is a prize? It doesn’t apply to that. Because I’m going to win anyway. It’s already decided who’s going to win. I’m going to be the first, that’s a given.”
Where does his confidence come from? I couldn’t get through to him at all. So I tried to talk to Igarashi.
“Hey. Igarashi. Are you okay with that? Your fate is going to be decided by someone else without your permission?
“……It’s only going to happen the way it’s going to happen. That’s what I’m supposed to do…”
Again. She’s smiling vaguely again, as usual. I can’t go any further. She won’t let anyone else step in from there. I don’t have the power to go any further now. That’s what I realized. Thus, the five-college baseball tournament has turned from a sparkling youth event into a horrifying duel that determines the fate of one person. I now had a reason to win. Wherever Igarashi goes, strife erupts. Will Cinderella make men kill each other? In whose hands is the glass slipper now?
**Author’s musings***
It’s funny how the love comedy events that involve our couple instantly turn into something bloody.
In a romantic comedy, the hero and his rival compete for the heroine, and that is supposed to be a sparkling event.
But in ours, it turns into something dark and gloomy. I think this is our style. Romantic comedy…? A romantic comedy! But there is comedy in it, so please forgive me.
I hope you will continue to follow my work.
Next time, I’ll do a touch event with Milan. I have a comedy story I came up with, so I want to do that. I mean, I need moisture (desperately).
And then, I’m going to put in a boys-only night out event as a bridge event to Season 4.
And then, we’ll move on to the finale of Season 3! Of course, Kanata will take care of it, so please look forward to it.
Also, Ayashiro will be the heroine in Season 4.
Since Season 3 was about gymnastics, this time it’s set in a liberal arts club.
And it’s a story like the backside of a mystery, which is quite an experimental work or inspiration-oriented, from the author’s point of view.
Season 4.x “For Ximena : Cidade do REY”
The story is rushes.
I hope to work with you in the future.
