Where Fate Leads - Chapter 8 Our Garden
Having been let in by the guards, Chen Hui looked around as he waited for his father. I followed Chen Hui wherever he went. I had found a very lovely pond with carps inside. Surrounding it was bamboo and there were little blossoms from the wisteria tree overhead, creating a little entrance to the pond. With the touch of my finger, a little bit of my Profound Qi sparked and transferred to the tree making all its flower bloom. I regretted my choice immediately and fell weak, I lost my balance and was prepared to fall until someone had caught me from the back.
“Making flowers bloom isn’t going to save anyone’s life.” he joked. I smiled at the overly familiar voice. He took me to the balcony, Chen Hui joining us. He had also brought snacks and tea along with him.
“You guys came really early today, I didn’t know you had already missed me.” he exaggerated.
“Mama said I could come over whenever I wanted and so early is better than not coming at all, right?” His father giggled nodding.
I dropped a pill in my tea before I drank it to regain my energy which I had lost. Something that really caught my attention in the garden was how it reacted to our aura. The garden made it seem like we were a family. I couldn’t help but let down my guard.
“Don’t run too much!” I warned the two boys who were chasing each other.
“Don’t worry! We have lots of energy!” I knew what he had meant through his words and pouted.
“What do you mean?!” I questioned standing up and joining the chase.
(3rd POV)
As Yu Yan and Zian Shun enjoyed their game of chase with their son Chen Hui, behind the shadow of the trees and bushes was Ling Ling staring at the image placed in front of her eyes. The girl someone managed to sneak her way into the prince’s private garden.
Ling Ling sneered as she watched, she should have known that Yu Yan had the God’s love so she never lives a horrible life.
“That child,” she muttered under her breath, “we should have forced her into an abortion or even pushed her into an accident so she could have a miscarriage. Who would have known the child would end up being his Highness’s son. And if the prince talks to his father, Yu Yan might end up becoming the empress.”
Hate was filled in her for her younger sister always had the spotlight and after having got rid of her, she is yet again still in that spotlight.
(Yu Yan’s POV)
I heard a rustle in the trees, Zian Shun heard it too and we turned to where the noise came from, it was too late to see who it was, but it wasn’t too late to know that the person who was just peeping at us had very little Profound Energy and very low cultivation level. I know only one person with that low of Profound Energy and cultivation level, Ling Ling.
I turned back to Zian Shun who also seemed to have the same person in mind. He stopped playing with Chen Hui as he walked up to one of his guard telling him to have Ling Ling come to his chamber for the night.
I took Chen Hui and was playing with him while his father was talking, but it didn’t take long until Zian Shun came back to join us, in a very surprising way. He walked up behind me and in seconds I was off the ground clutched in the arms of Zian Shun as he spun me around.
“Zian Shun! Stop it!” I said pounding on his chest. It didn’t occur to me though, that our relationship had changed so clearly after our mistake was cleared up.
“Say my name ten times and then I will let you down!” he replied.
“Stop joking!” he wasn’t joking, he kept me tightly held in my arm and kept spinning me in a circle. I was getting dizzy and wanted to be let down and so I had no other choice.
“Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zain Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun, Zian Shun!” I was soon out of breath when he finally let me down. I slapped him on his chest one last time.
“Zian Shun, you devil.” as I said this I pushed him into the pond, but he pulled onto my hand and I fell into the pond along with him. Chen Hui found it fun and amusing and had jumped in along with us.
(Guards POV)
“They seem to be having fun in there, I wish I was didn’t have to guard today, then I could hang out with my daughter and my wife.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
(Zian Shun’s POV)
Her reaction was so cute and funny when she had fallen into the pond with me. Now that she was out though, it made her seem even more gorgeous. The sun’s ray was on her hair making it glow and reflect. She looked back at me glaring but behind her glare was a glow of youth and happiness. My eyes drifted down and I blushed. I took my blue robe wrapping it around her.
Why did my wife have to choose to wear white today?
(Yu Yan’s POV)
Not until he gave me his robe did I notice the reason to why he was blushing. I turned my back to him my face pink as a raspberry. When Chen Hui sneezed, both Zian Shun and my attention turned to our baby. Zian Shun ordered for a towel and another set of clothing for a female, a child and one for himself. Soon they arrived and Zian Shun and I dried Chen Hui’s hair together. After that, we changed into the newly dried clothes, though it was a bit too fancy.
While Zian Shun was drying my hair for me, Chen Hui was drawing on the mud near the pond. We went to see what he drew afterward, and to our surprise, he had written on the mud the Chinese character of our name. On the sides were Zian SHun and my name in big characters and in the middle was Chen Hui in small character to show that he was the child. It was cute, but since it was on mud it wouldn’t last.
“This is to represent that this garden belongs to us, it is ours.” stated the little child. I looked at Zian Shun and he looked at me, our eyes locked and we smiled softly nodding our heads. We both took the child to the wisteria tree, the first wisteria tree, Zian Shun carved his characters with magic and sealed it onto the tree so it would never disappear. I did the same to the other tree, writing down my own character. Then, in the middle, where the pond was, we carved Chen Hui’s name into the stone surrounding the pond and sealed it off together.
At the same time, both Zian Shun and I read the names that were carved and at the end, we called it, “Ours.”
